Yingge, The Ceramic Capital of Taiwan

Located in New Taipei City, Yingge is the Ceramic Capital of Taiwan. There are hundreds of ceramic factories and shops in Yingge. One of the major attractions is the Yingge Old Street, also known as “Yingge Ceramics Street.” It is home to about one hundred pottery shops and studios.

Another highlights of the small town is the Yingge Ceramics Museum (鶯歌陶瓷博物館). Opened in 2000, the museum was built to rejuvenate the town and attract tourism. The exhibitions feature an array of applications for which ceramics can be used, including examples of vases, teapots, plates, and other ornaments.
