and the sick, allows the development of medical structures or develops emergency
aid actions. Let us associate the Order of Malta.
Here is the dwelling of God with men. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people.
And he himself, God with them, will be their God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
By the grace of Jesus Christ, our Lord, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit,
be always with you.
Let us enter with joy, with faith, in this celebration of the Eucharist.
Let us celebrate in the Cathedral of Rome, the Mother Church, Saint John of Latran.
Let us humbly confess that we have sinned, and in silence, let us welcome the mercy of God,
whom we need so much.
I confess to Almighty God, I confess before you, brothers and sisters, that I have sinned,
in thought, in speech, by action and by remission. Yes, I have really sinned.
That is why I beg the Blessed Virgin Mary, the angels and all the saints, and you too,
brothers and sisters, to pray for me, the Lord our God.
May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to eternal life. Amen.
Lord, have mercy.
O Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Glory to God in the highest heaven.
Heavenly Father, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your immense glory.
Lord God, King of Heaven, Almighty Father,
Lord, we beseech you, Jesus Christ,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you who lift up the sins of the world,
receive our prayer.
You who are seated at the right hand of the Father,
you alone are holy, you alone are Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Lord God, you built the eternal home of your glory with living and chosen stones.
You abounded in your church this spirit of grace that you gave it.
May the people of your faithful never cease to grow,
so that the heavenly Jerusalem may be built.
Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for centuries and centuries. Amen.
Reading the book of the Prophet Ezekiel.
On that day, during a vision received from the Lord,
man made me return to the entrance of the house.
And behold, under the roof of the house,
water flowed eastward,
for the facade of the house was on the east side.
The water came down from below the right side of the house, south of the hotel.
Man made me go out through the north door,
and made me go around the outside,
to the door facing the east,
and there again the water flowed from the right side.
He said to me,
this water flows towards the east region,
it descends into the valley of the garden
and pours into the dead sea,
from which it drains the waters.
Everywhere the torrent reaches,
all animals will be able to live and graze.
The fish will be very abundant,
for this water drains everything it enters,
and life appears everywhere the torrent arrives.
On the edge of the torrent, on both banks,
all kinds of fruit trees will grow.
Their foliage will not wither,
and their fruits will not be lacking.
Every month they will bear new fruits,
for this water comes from the sanctuary.
The fruits will be food,
and the leaves a remedy.
Word of the Lord.
We give thanks to the Lord.
And so the sheep and the oxen.
He threw down the currency of the traders,
overturned their accounts,
and said to the merchants of Columbus,
Remove this from here.
Stop making the house of my father a house of trade.
His disciples remembered that it was written,
The love of your house will make my torment.
The Jews questioned him,
What sign can you give us to act thus?
He answered them,
Destroy this sanctuary,
and in three days I will raise it up.
The Jews replied,
It took forty-six years to build this sanctuary,
and you, in three days you will raise it up?
But he spoke of the sanctuary of his body.
Also, when he awoke from among the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this.
They believed in the writing and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Let us call on the word of God.
We give thanks to you, Lord Jesus.
Tonight we celebrate the dedication of the Church of Rome,
the Cathedral of the Pope,
the Basilica of St. John the Baptist of Latran.
What does the dedication of a church mean for liturgy and Christian spirituality?
And more fundamentally,
what does the very existence of the Church with a small e,
the existence of this place of worship, mean?
Doesn't Christ teach us that the temple of God
is first and foremost the heart of man who has received his word?
You are the temple of God.
This is what St. Paul reminds us.
Why then do Christians give so much importance to the Church
if each of us can worship the Father in spirit and in truth,
in his heart or at home?
Why this obligation to go to church every Sunday?
The answer is that Christ does not save us individually.
He came to make a people, a family,
a community of people in communion with him and among them.
You know, salvation, far from being individual or collective,
is therefore personal and communal.
When St. Paul says that we are the temple of God
and that the Spirit of God dwells in us,
he says it to us as members of the Body of Christ.
And it is the Church with a big E
that is the house that God builds
by assembling the living stones,
that we are all living stones
that rest on a single foundation,
solid as the rock, Jesus Christ.
This is the Church.
You know, I have always been edified by the fact that
in the celebration of the dedication of a new Church,
we incense and bless the assembly
before incensing and blessing the walls.
It is we, the faithful, who are the true temple of God,
hence the importance of taking care of the body and soul of each one.
The true temple where the Holy Spirit resides,
God himself.
My friends, today and tomorrow, let us pray for the unity of the Church.
Let us pray for the sanctification of the living stones that compose it,
of the living stones created in the image,
in the likeness of God who gives life,
in the likeness of God who gives value and meaning
to all human life down here.
Amen.
Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice, which is also yours,
may be pleasant to God, the Almighty Father.
May the Lord receive from your hands
this sacrifice in praise and glory of his name
for our good and that of the whole Church.
Lord, receive the offering that we present to you.
Give to those who pray to you to be strengthened by your sacraments
and to see their requests exalted by Christ our Lord.
Amen.
May the Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
In our heart.
Around us.
Lord, our God.
It is just and good for your glory and our salvation
to offer you our action of grace, always and everywhere.
Lord, Most Holy Father, Eternal and Almighty God,
in your goodness for your people, you want to inhabit a house of prayer
so that your grace, always offered,
may make of us the temple of the Holy Spirit,
shining with a life that pleases you.
Day by day, you sanctify the wife of Christ, the Church,
whose images the Churches here lower,
until the day when she will have her home in the glory of heaven,
Mother who rejoices the multitude of her children.
That is why, with the saints and all the angels,
we praise you and proclaim you endlessly.
Saint, Saint, Saint, the Lord, God of the universe.
Saint, Saint, Saint, the Lord.
Heaven and earth are filled with your glory.
Hosanna in the highest heaven.
Blessed be the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest heaven.
You, Father, very lovingly we pray and beg you,
let us pray by Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
to accept and bless these gifts, these offerings,
pure and holy sacrifices,
which we present to you above all for your Catholic Church.
Grant her peace and protect her.
Honour her, gather her in unity,
and govern her all over the earth.
We present them in union with your servant,
our Pope Francis, and our Archbishop, Laurent,
and all those who faithfully keep the Catholic faith,
received from the apostles.
Remember, Lord, your servants,
and all those who are gathered here,
whom you know faith and devotion.
We offer you for them, or they offer you for themselves,
and all theirs, this sacrifice of praise,
for their own redemption,
for the peace and salvation they hope for.
They give you this homage, to you,
eternal, living and true God.
United in the same communion,
first venerating the memory of the Blessed Mary,
always virgin,
Mother of our God and Lord Jesus Christ,
of Saint Joseph, her husband,
the blessed apostles and martyrs,
Peter and Paul, Andrew,
James and John, Thomas, James and Philip,
Bartholomew and Matthew, Simon and Jude,
Lincoln, Clement, Sixtus, Cornelius and Cyprian,
Laurent, Chrysogonus, John, Paul,
and Damien, and all the saints.
We beseech you,
grant us by their prayer and their merit,
to be always and everywhere
strong in your help and protection.
This is the offering we present before you,
to your servants and your whole family.
Lord, in your benevolence,
accept it.
Assure yourself the peace of our life.
Tear us from the eternal damnation
and allow us to be admitted to the number of your chosen ones.
Lord God, we pray to you,
worthy of blessing,
to bless and welcome this offering.
Accept it fully,
make it perfect and worthy of you,
that it becomes for us
the body and blood of your beloved Son,
Jesus Christ, our Lord.
On the eve of his Passion,
he took the bread in his holy hands
and the eyes raised to heaven,
to you, God, his Almighty Father.
By giving you grace,
he said the blessing,
he broke the bread
and gave it to his disciples,
saying,
Take it,
eat it all,
this is my body,
delivered for you.
Even after the meal,
he took this incomparable cup
in his holy hands
and giving you grace again,
he said the blessing
and gave the cup to his disciples,
saying,
Take it,
drink it all,
because this is the cup of my blood,
the blood of the eternal new covenant,
which will be poured out for you
and for the multitude
in remission of sins.
You will do this
in memory of me.
The mystery of faith is great.
We announce your death,
Lord Jesus.
We pray to you, your servants
and your holy people with us,
in memory of the good
passion of your Son, Jesus Christ,
our Lord,
of his resurrection from the death
and his glorious ascension into heaven,
we present to you, God of glory
and majesty, this offering
taken from the goods you give us,
the pure and holy sacrifice,
the perfect sacrifice,
the eternal cup and cup of salvation.
And as you liked to welcome
the presence of your servant Abel,
the righteous,
the sacrifice of Abraham,
our father in faith,
and the one offered to you by Melchizedek,
your great priest,
holy and immaculate oblation,
look at these offerings with love
and in your benevolence accept them.
We beg you, Almighty God,
that they be carried by the hands
of your holy angel
and that in our communion at the altar,
the body and blood of your Son,
we may be filled with grace
and all the blessings of heaven.
Remember also, Lord,
your servants,
Michel, whom you entrusted to our prayer,
and all those who preceded us
marked with the sign of faith
and who sleep in peace.
For him, for them, for all those
who rest in Christ, we implore your goodness,
Lord, that they remain in joy,
light and peace.
And we, sinners, your servants,
who put our hope in your inexhaustible mercy,
join us in the community
of the holy apostles and martyrs,
with John the Baptist, Etienne,
Matthias and Barnabas, Ignatius,
Alexander, Marcelin and Peter,
Felicité, Perpetu, Agathe,
Lucie, Agnès, Cécile, Anastasie,
and all the saints.
We pray to you,
welcome us in their company,
without judging us on merit,
but by Christ, our Lord,
by him you never cease to create all his goods,
you sanctify them, give them life,
bless them, and make us their gift.
By him, with him and in him,
to you,
Almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all honour and all glory
for the centuries of the centuries.
Amen.
United in the same spirit,
of one heart, of one soul,
we can say with confidence
the prayer we received
from the mouth of the Savior.
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Deliver us from all evil,
Lord, and give peace to our time.
Supported by your mercy,
we will be free from all sin,
from all trial.
We who wait for this goodly hope to come true,
the coming of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
For it is to you that
reigns power and glory
for the centuries to come.
Lord Jesus Christ,
you said to your apostles and to each of us this evening,
I leave you peace,
I give you my peace.
Do not look at our sins, but at the faith of your Church,
so that your will be accomplished,
always give her this peace,
and lead her to perfect unity,
you who live and reign for the centuries to come.
May the peace of the Lord
always be with you,
and in the charity of Christ.
Give yourself peace.
He who removes
the sins of the world
out of pity for us.
He who removes
the sins of the world
out of pity for us.
Out of pity for us.
Here is the Lamb of God,
here is the one who removes
the sins of the world.
Happy are the guests at the meal of the lambs of the Lamb.
Lord,
I am not worthy to receive you,
but say only one word
and I will be healed.
As a living stone, enter into the construction
of the spiritual abode,
to become the Holy Priest.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Lord God,
you wanted your Church of the earth
to prefigure for us Jerusalem from above.
We pray to you,
since we have participated in this sacrament,
make us the temple of your grace,
and grant us to enter
one day into the abode of your glory,
by the Christ our Lord.
Amen.
...
the exclusion of all people who did not correspond
to the preferred fetal-ordinary profile of the leader of the moment.
It is at these moments that we understand
how much we need handicapped and bizarre people
in human societies.
Thank you very much, have a good day.
For me, it was quite incredible,
because it was really like a miracle,
it was something superhuman,
something that goes beyond understanding.
Thérèse-Marie, 23 years old.
I am a CE1 teacher.
And in life, I love drawing and playing music
because I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old.
A moment that was very strong in my life,
it was first the test of the disease of one of my sisters, Mathilde,
who was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
It is a disease that gradually took place in her body
and at first it manifested itself
as a big word of sale,
which meant that she could no longer eat.
And then, little by little, she lost weight
and a paralysis of her body followed,
because she was hospitalized for several months,
she did not move anymore.
A lot of symptoms made us really desperate
compared to her case.
And for me, it was a very difficult test.
But that's also where I strengthened my relationship with God.
Mathilde was very, very sick
and the only thing we had left, the only hope, was God.
And that's when we really turned to Him, as a family.
A few months later, we took Mathilde to a Christian assembly
with several Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic confessions.
And during this assembly, several people asked for healing.
So very concretely, the question we asked her was,
do you want to heal?
And my sister, of course, knew what she wanted,
even if with her little voice, we couldn't hear her well.
We could really see that she wanted to get out of it.
And we told her, Mathilde, you're going to get up, you're going to walk.
And she looked at me like,
but I'm in a wheelchair, I can't get up, I can't walk.
She said, okay, but how is it going to happen concretely?
And there are two people who helped her get up.
And in fact, gradually, something incredible happened.
My sister gradually found a normal walk.
It was quite incredible because it was really like a miracle.
It was something superhuman.
It's something that goes beyond understanding.
And in fact, somehow, I was really amazed by this miracle.
And at the same time, it's amazing.
I mean, it's not every day that we see such amazing things.
And in fact, there, I really felt gratitude in me.
And concretely, yes, it changed my view of life,
and also of illness, because somehow,
illness is still something extremely negative.
It's something, of course, that we don't want in anyone.
And yet, it's thanks to illness that we were able to get closer to God
and also tie even stronger bonds in my family.
What changed my life is that I understood that God,
he was very close to us, that he was really alive.
And above all, that he could do miracles even today.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
The trees of the shepherds, all the cedars.
The wild beasts and all the herds.
The reptile and the bird that flies.
Who praises the name of the Lord, the only one above all names.
On heaven and on earth, his splendor.
He increases the vigor of his people.
Praise of all his faithful.
Children of Israel, the people of his loved ones.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the show
D'un Coeur qui Écoute, your show on spirituality.
Today, I invite you to discover the journey of Valentin Latapi.
Hello, Valentin.
Hello.
A few years ago, you wrote a book called God is Waiting for Us,
published in the Serres edition,
which is an invitation to, I want to say,
Mr. and Mrs. Tout-le-Monde,
to say to themselves that maybe there is something interesting
that is happening among Christians,
in the Church or in prayer at home,
and that it is a worthwhile adventure.
You will tell us about it in a moment.
Just before, I will invite you to read us an excerpt of your choice.
So, this is an excerpt from a book called
If you are looking for God, by Jean-René Boucher.
Prayer makes you discover that the place where God comes
is your heart.
Do not confuse it with your epidermis.
Your heart is your secret roots.
This is where you will go down step by step,
without getting lost.
To love quickly is not to love.
Take the step of the walkers of the long journey
and go down into your heart.
The psalms will tell you of the miseries
and the beauty of the heart of man.
It is double, tortuous, darkened, closed.
When God visits him, he breaks down to open up better.
He exults, he rejoices, he sings,
he thunders, he burns.
Joy for the heart that seeks God.
Why this choice of text that looks like an invitation
that is a bit counter-current?
You ask us to stop, to be silent,
to go inside, into areas that are a bit dark at times.
Does your story scare you?
Yes, it's a bit of a discovery that I made
during a time in my life,
of the richness of the life of prayer
and the encounter that you can have with this living God,
which is actually a very little-known treasure, I think.
Can you tell us a little bit about who you are,
where you come from and how you were able to make this encounter?
I grew up in a family in the Paris region,
a rather Catholic, practising family.
We went to mass on Sundays as a family.
And we still had the habit of praying in the evening as a family,
all together.
I have two brothers and sisters.
We used to say a little prayer,
« Merci, pardon, s'il vous plaît »,
where everyone would say something.
And then we went to private colleges and high schools,
so we still had the catechism,
we still had an education.
