Thousands of runners cross finish line in TCS NYC Marathon

The energy electric as millions of people came out to cheer the tens of thousands of runners participating in today's T. C. S. New York City Marathon. We've got team coverage with all the highlights from the big finishers to the most memorable moments. Let's get it started with Tom neck of in live at the finish line. Tom show just an amazing day. Perfect conditions for the runners, the crowd cheering them on in an absolute frenzy. And tonight, thousands of smiling, happy, exhausted faces headed home at the end of an adrenaline fueled day winners of the Marathon Mayor's Cup and YPD celebrating a big win. The Mayor's Cup, an annual grudge match between the F. D. N. Y. And N. Y. P. D. The cops come out on top this year. Their top finisher still in the academy. I wanted to come out here and represent the N. Y. P. D. And be the first finisher. And I'm happy I did that. Just to support the fire department and run and represent is a total honor. All the work, not myself, but everybody else that runs puts into it a banner day for thousands of people for all kinds of reasons. Proud parents in the stands here to cheer from the other side of the world makes me cry every time I see someone go past. It's amazing. The wheelchair athletes first off the course. Rome Lakin just set a new personal record. No place better than New York. None ever. Never. Not even close. Our team from ABC News running the 26.2 miles as a relay for the New York Road Runners team for kids. They put me at the end. I don't know what that means. Robert Roberts. Anyway, bring up the rear. Happy to do it. We're all a little bit competitive in the relay, you know, just a little bit trying to see what our times are. But you can literally say it was for the kids. All this and the occasional marriage proposal. They finished. She said yes. I had no idea. I've always wanted this. It's been my dream for New York Marathon proposal. Our congratulations to them.
