Cause of death for Matthew Perry 'deferred'

Omar. Yeah, good evening. An investigation into exactly how Matthew Perry died is still ongoing, and it may be weeks before we know an official cause of death. The L. A. County Medical Examiner's Office updated its online records today, listing his cause of death as deferred right now, which means additional tests will be needed. But we spoke to the L. A. P. D. Earlier today, and they tell us that no foul play is suspected. Want to show you a live look behind us here at his home here in the Pacific Palisades, where fans have been dropping by all day long, leaving flowers and Batman memorabilia. We could take it a video and tell you that these fans have been paying their respects all day again. Uh, Perry was found dead here in the jacuzzi of his Pacific Palisades home, according to sources in coroner's records. Condolences have been pouring in from all around the world. When the news broke, Perry's family released a statement to People magazine that reads Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love. Warner Brothers TV group produced friends and released a statement saying he was a true gift to us all today at the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank. Fans gathered to leave flowers there. We've been speaking to these fans both here at Perry's home and at Warner Brothers about the impact he had across the world. Take a listen to what they had to say. I am a huge, huge friends fan, my favorite show of all time, and I found out about his death last night. I was at Disneyland, and it just it changed my whole day. I didn't even realize people were bringing flowers, so I just went and got someone and came back. But I think it's so amazing that people are paying their respects to this comedic genius. It's extra upsetting because I feel like there's been such an outpouring of love for him now and lovers comedic contributions. But I didn't realize what he was wrestling with. He had his colon ruptured, and I believe he's talked about his sense with alcoholism and trying to recover. And so I hope they find out exactly what happened. As you can tell there, he was beloved by both fans and colleagues across the world. According to TMZ, Perry had played pickleball earlier Saturday morning for a couple hours before returning home and sending his assistant to run an errand. That assistant then returned back to this home to find Perry unconscious. Right now, no official funeral plans have been announced.
