The cause of death for Breaking Bad actor R.J. Mitte has
been confirmed following his death at
age 34. We've got more on the heartbreaking news surrounding
the actor and disability rights
advocate in today's Page Six headlines.
Mitte died by suicide on October 12th,
his representative confirmed to Page Six.
His manner of death is still pending a medical
examiner's determination following an autopsy,
and authorities have said the investigation
remains ongoing. Beyond his role
as Walter Flynn White Jr. on Breaking Bad, Mitte was a passionate
advocate for disability awareness and inclusion,
drawing on his own experience living with cerebral palsy.
His former on-screen father, Brian Cranston, paid tribute to the actor,
sharing his deep despair over the loss,
and revealing that the two had
been texting just weeks earlier to arrange lunch.
Mitte is being remembered by his former co-stars
and fans for his work on-screen
and his advocacy for people with disabilities.
Next, former Saturday Night Live star Ego Wodum
is taking a pointed jab at Shane Gillis
after his controversial monologue sparked backlash.
The comedian who hosted this weekend's episode
joked about women who wear revealing shorts to the gym.
Also, I haven't been to the gym in so long,
I didn't know women just dress like whores now.
Wodum, who left SNL last year after seven seasons,
responded on Instagram Stories by calling herself
a whore reporting for duty in a workout selfie
before sharing a photo of her breakfast
and joking about getting her protein in after hoeing.
She wasn't the only celebrity to criticize Gillis
as country singer Maren Morris
also mocked their remarks on social media.
Meanwhile, Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy called the jokes misogynistic
and urged men to speak out against comments that objectify women.
Gillis' monologue continues to draw criticism,
with several celebrities pushing back against his comments.
Finally, Selma Blair acknowledged she
was struggling emotionally in an Instagram exchange
shortly before her alleged outburst aboard a Delta flight.
Before the New York-bound flight on October 11th,
the Legally Blonde actress responded
to a fan's supportive comment by writing,
I'm not great. I'm sad. I'm grateful.
She also shared an Instagram post featuring an aerial
view from the plane, selfies, and photos of her dog,
Scout, just moments before she was arrested
for allegedly injuring flight attendants.
According to reports, Blair allegedly punched
one flight attendant and bit another,
and she was later accused of kicking a Port Authority
police officer and assaulting a nurse after being taken off the plane.
Blair pleaded not guilty to
two counts of second-degree assault,
while her attorneys argued that she had missed medication
prescribed for her multiple sclerosis had fallen and hit her head.
Blair was released on bail and
her case was adjourned until January 19, 2027.
As her representative said, she had experienced
a medical emergency and was receiving care.
