The exciting challenge for the pharmaceutical industry is, how do I get more diabetes patients?
And there is a lot of attention to this.
How can I explain someone to a diabetes patient even earlier?
How can I define a so-called prediabetes?
If you live in America, you can be sued by your patient as a doctor if you have a blood pressure of 140 to 80.
That means the doctor is to blame if he doesn't prescribe all the drugs that are prescribed in the guidelines.
If the doctor has not given them all, he is responsible for the increased blood pressure of the patient.
It is very important to look at what we can do effectively for ourselves so that our life does not end 10, 15 years earlier than it could actually last.
So the ecological damage, if someone is not willing to change their way of life and prefer to take 10, 15 different chemical tablets,
that is a real find that is completely underestimated.
Welcome to today's video. My name is Jörn Schumann and I am interviewing Dr. Ingfried Hobart today.
We are talking about the topic of diabetes or type 2 diabetes.
A big topic that really affects more and more people, even younger people.
There are now partly young people who develop these symptoms, which was almost unthinkable decades ago.
Why did this develop? What are the causes and what are the solutions?
We will take a closer look at that today.
I brought Ingfried with me. Ingfried, maybe a few words about you.
You are a doctor and author and also train other doctors. You are a reference. What else should we know about you?
Well, I am a medical school doctor, of course. I was in the hospital for five years and then became very interested in the healing knowledge of other cultures,
especially Chinese and Tibetan medicine.
But overall, I was also very interested in what knowledge people have produced about medicine over time and in different cultures.
What has proven itself here? What has been passed on from one generation to the next because it worked?
I was particularly interested in these things and in our specialist circles in ethnomedicine we focused on
what are the content components of the most effective healing plants that have been used in different cultures for hundreds, thousands of years.
What exactly is in there? How does it work? And how many milligrams do you have to take to, for example,
reduce blood pressure, reduce sugar or reduce fat levels?
Because there are studies on this. You don't have to do it yourself, you can research it and then you know exactly what works, in what quantity.
And so with a new high dose of natural medicine, a whole new scientific branch has opened up that is no longer just an addition to school medicine,
but can also replace side effects of chemical medicine, so that we have good things in hand,
not only to take things that trigger many side effects, but we can also work more directly with the power of nature,
as long as we know what is in there and how it works.
On the subject of diabetes, you have also looked at the different cultures and also analyzed healthy peoples,
or you have obtained information on how they live, how they eat.
And I can very well imagine that in these healthy, long-living cultures, diabetes is much, much less common than now with us in Western civilization, right?
Yes, that's how it was in the past. I have now traveled to 35 countries, looked over the shoulders of medical men and shamans,
and a lot of books have come out of it. But I already wrote my doctoral thesis in the 1980s about the intestine
and then asked the question why there is no appendicitis among the rural population of Sri Lanka,
no intestinal cancer, no constipation. What are the reasons for this?
Back then you still had to find out. Today, of course, it is common knowledge,
but back then it was about exploring which enzymes in the intestine are stimulated by a high-dose diet,
so that a fast intestinal passage occurs and possible toxins don't have much time
to dissolve in the intestinal inflammatory processes.
And at that time, the diet consisted of a maximum of 2% animal proteins. Today it is almost exactly the other way around.
And that was very exciting to find out what circumstances led to the fact that there was no intestinal disease at that time.
But there were also no sugar diseases until at some point, from America, of course,
the rum fruit spread all over the world. And even the children, I will never forget how I said it back then,
that the children were given pure sugar as food.
And the children suddenly had a broken toe at the age of 9 and, of course, the intestinal passage also caused damage accordingly.
That means, again, the diet here is a central component, a highly unprocessed, natural diet with prebiotics,
probiotics and probably more plant-based, can do good services.
But the trend is going in a completely different direction. And that is probably one of the main reasons for the increasingly frequent
and increasingly early symptoms of diabetes, isn't it?
It rolled over the world like a tsunami at the beginning and end of the 1980s,
but then it got stronger and stronger and has now reached the farthest corner of the Amazon, the farthest corner of the Philippines,
Siberia, where so much industrial food, bad industrial food, is consumed here,
where the taste organs have been adapted so that people no longer realize how unhealthy it actually is.
Because he said, it tastes good, that's the sign of the body, that it can't be bad at all.
Unfortunately, this is definitely not the case. And for this reason, diabetes diseases have exploded vertically.
And now in America, even among young people, adiposity, overweight, obesity,
every third American teenager is already obese, has an adiposity, and the others are on the right track.
Just like cancer diseases in children in America are currently exploding due to this malnutrition,
a diet that is really harmful to us, which significantly shortens life.
And it is very important to look at what we can do effectively for ourselves,
so that our life does not end 10, 15 years earlier than it could actually last.
And also the quality of life. If I have to take 10 medications in the last 20 years of my life
and I'm very restricted and I don't feel well at all, then that's not the point of the matter either.
What is almost no longer tangible for us is that there are healthy people in the world at all.
Maybe you could say something about that too. Well, there are, but in our society,
when I look at society now, it is very rare. Or is it sold to us that it is normal to be very ill at an early age?
On the one hand, yes. On the other hand, I have a patient base here at the Steinhilde Meer,
of course, of people who eat very consciously, very awake, very clearly.
And of course I also see a lot of people who are old, over 90, and have no diseases at all.
And if you ask what their secret is, then you always end up with a certain joy,
with the ability to keep the nervous system in balance,
and in this equanimity also to have a more awake feeling for which food is actually good for me, which is not good for me.
On the other hand, I see how many people are stressed today.
I see how the pulse rate is 10% higher than it was 3, 4, 5 years ago.
And a person who is stressed doesn't really pay much attention to what he eats, how much he eats.
He needs food as a substitute for satisfaction.
And with that, he takes in much more than he actually needs.
If we look at anti-aging research, and this is a very exciting area,
what shortens life the most and how one can prevent it on the other hand,
then at the beginning of the chain there is clearly stress.
Stress clings to the telomeres, these pieces of DNA that determine our lifespan.
It clings to more than anything else.
And on the other hand, there are already the latent inflammatory processes,
which are primarily heated by sugar.
And accordingly, sugar patients have very unfavorable conditions to live for a very long time,
unless they get their blood sugar level permanently under control.
And this diabetes event is probably not just diabetes,
but probably also chronic inflammation, gastrointestinal issues,
possibly also blood pressure issues.
And in old age, the older the people are,
we have already recorded another video on the brain,
that this also causes problems.
Would you say that it's not just diabetes, but rather many side effects?
Yes, we can say that the latent inflammatory processes,
the overshooting of the autoimmune system,
which is overwhelmed by the many impressions that come into the body
about the toxins from food, the toxins from breathing,
about softener, heavy metals and so on.
With this, the immune system is permanently overwhelmed by stress.
And in this overload, what is called silent inflammation is created.
A silent inflammation, a severe burn in the system,
which is actually only recognized by the fact that you are constantly tired,
that you are exhausted, that you are driven.
And the cause can be very easily discovered by blood tests,
by microbiome tests.
And when patients come to us for a care week,
then the focus is of course on a stress EKG,
where we look at how high the sympathic tonus is,
how high the vagus tonus is,
how it is with the inflammatory values in the blood.
And then we see very clearly how an inflammation pressure
spreads in the system.
And that then leads to what we call chronic dengative diseases.
On the one hand, this is the atherosclerosis,
from which then heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure and so on.
These are the rheumatic diseases,
these are fibromyalgia,
these are the intestinal diseases,
ulcerative colitis,
and these are of course also the cancer diseases,
and ultimately also the metabolic diseases.
Diabetes is also caused by slippery autoimmune processes.
It is an autoimmune disease of diabetes,
where the pancreas slowly goes through autoimmune processes.
And these autoimmune processes are primarily caused by stress
and malnutrition for everyone.
That means I have a good adjustment screw there,
I can change my diet,
I can balance my stress management or my nervous system.
And there are already two factors that strongly minimize
this chronic inflammatory event.
In addition, there are also substances,
you have such an inflammation complex
with various plant substances, extracts,
which are known to reduce inflammation in addition.
That means I can do a lot on this level.
Yes, in ethnomedicine there are,
especially from Arabic desert medicine,
medicinal recipes that have a very high content
on curcumin, on the ginger root,
extracts from the ginger root, from black cumin, from myrrh, from incense.
And these are all substances that have an inflammatory effect,
have almost cortisone-like effects,
but without the disadvantages of having cortisone.
They counteract such inflammatory processes.
And then of course we have the possibility with a blood sugar recipe
to take medicinal plants,
from which you know that they open the excretion channels of the sugar,
so that we excrete more sugar
and the body experiences a significant relief.
Yes, for example, I looked into the recipe,
cinnamon, that may be a term for some,
that it has a positive effect,
but there are also things in it,
such as boxhorn, boxhorn clay, seeds,
fennel leaf extract, buckwheat herb powder,
green tea extract, turmeric extract,
special algae are still in it,
mushrooms are still in it, so mushrooms,
and many other exciting things.
And you went ahead, as you said at the beginning,
that you looked at which studies,
with which substances, have which effects,
and then these recipes were designed, right?
Yes, exactly, this old phytotherapy
is now triggered by a new modern high-dose natural medicine,
where we now know exactly how much of a substance you have to take
to achieve a certain effect.
So we know exactly how much boxhorn clay you have to take,
or if you want to strengthen the heart muscle strength,
how much lactic acid is needed from the pomegranate,
or how much cat's claw extract is needed
to lower the blood pressure.
This has been proven today in very good,
scientifically-founded studies,
and this can be used very effectively today.
What I also find very exciting,
I mean, I'm pretty deep into various health topics,
and I'm also quite familiar with various healing plants,
these classics, what do I know,
turmeric, cinnamon, you know,
or fennel, or the healing mushrooms,
but in the recipes, like here, for example,
in the blood sugar complex,
there are really things in there that I have to say,
although I have been dealing with them for several years,
I have never heard of,
like, for example,
oriental spring onion root extract,
or things like straw peony root extract,
and many other exciting things,
that I didn't even know existed before.
And I find that particularly exciting,
that I really looked at it,
from the most diverse cultures,
from traditional medicine,
but also based on studies,
what good effects it has.
Yes, Chinese medicine also has a recipe
for strengthening the middle, the middle organs,
where the gastrointestinal tract also belongs.
This is the Recipe of Remania-6,
also a very important recipe
that can be used for diabetes.
And then of course we have the important
aquatic omega-3 fatty acids,
so only the fatty acids that are obtained from algae oil,
they also have a very strong
inflammatory-inducing effect,
and it should definitely be looked at
that the omega-3 level is above 8,
preferably between 8 and 11,
because otherwise the body is missing something.
We can say that the biological potential
for inflammatory inhibition
is then 100% reduced
if this omega-3 level is above 8.
And you should definitely test this value,
because if the level is too low,
you have diabetes,
then in the truest sense of the word,
there is still room for improvement.
And I myself observe how many patients,
if the framework conditions are correct,
also the vitamin D level,
which should be between 40 and 60,
if these framework conditions are correct,
less insulin is needed.
But one should perhaps also say
that there is a special preparation
in school medicine
that I really appreciate.
Metformin, 2x250 mg,
has been pushed into the foreground
in anti-aging medicine
for about five years,
because it has the ability
to lower the sugar level
in a very special way.
It has been found that people
who have mild diabetes
and only take metformin,
even live longer
than a normal average person
who does not take metformin.
This means that
through metformin
the early mortality rate
of diabetics
can not only rise,
but can be pushed back.
And so it is now being discussed
whether healthy people
can also benefit
from taking such a diabetic drug.
But also people
who are on the road
with a high sugar intake
and just don't want to stop
or can,
they can actually think about something like that.
But that's not really my approach.
The approach is really
to change the diet consistently
and to say,
I don't pay the price
that I live shorter
just because I don't eat so badly.
And are side effects known
from metformin?
No, except for bleeding,
no side effects are known.
So far I haven't really
prescribed it to people,
but I'm watching it now.
I'm watching the studies,
they are increasing in recent years
and of course I watch
that all my diabetics
take this medication
with 2x 1000mg high dosage.
But I haven't prescribed it
to a normal person yet.
I'm still waiting for a few studies.
But that's all very, very exciting
and we can certainly
expect something positive.
But in addition, of course,
it still makes sense
to address all the other causes.
Of course, the intestinal microbiome
is also important.
The intestinal microbiome is the origin
where secretions of inflammation
enter the body,
trigger the autoimmune processes
that then lead to diabetes.
That means, if you don't want
diabetes to get worse,
it is important to really
dampen these inflammatory processes
and preferably via the intestinal
microbiome, i.e. bread,
apple cider vinegar,
so we eat a lot of fiber,
of course,
take omega-3 oils,
prebiotic bacterial strains,
lactobacillus, bifidobacteria.
So we have a number of
good natural medicines
and good household tips
from the home pharmacy
that you can do to build up
this microbiome and maybe
we can talk about it again
at another point.
You just said, you just mentioned
insulin.
Will it be given to insulin
at the same time or
is it still relatively unknown
that it is still used
little in the field of diabetes?
Yes, it is given as
level 1.
In diabetology, there is already
a first step, try to get
out of it, then two others come
and then insulin actually comes first.
But of course it is
an unpleasant development
that large patient associations
are now very skillfully influenced
by very skilled marketing agencies
that are controlled
by the big
pharmaceutical companies.
And that means
you don't have to
limit yourself to eating.
We have enough insulin for everyone.
You can all eat what you want again.
That's not a problem at all.
And this trend is getting stronger
and stronger again from America to us.
If you just look at the
internet page of the
American Society for
Diabetology,
the highest worldwide
specialist society for diabetes,
you can see that
at the top of the food pyramid
there is meat and milk again,
all these things are there.
And then you know
in which direction this is going.
Also the American Heart Association,
also the Cancer Association,
they have brought
the food pyramid back to
its old position,
as it was in the 60s and 70s.
It's incredible,
when you look at
how obvious it is
how the chemical industry
and the food industry
and medical associations
and hospitals
and agriculture
think and act
in one direction.
Yes.
How is the view of school medicine
on type 2 diabetes?
Is it official?
Is it said that we can't do anything?
Is it incurable or is it already
taught that you can influence it positively?
The disease is
accompanied by bureaucracy.
The corresponding
health ministers
come up with something new every year,
which makes life
more and more difficult for us
not because fewer
doctors come into the world,
but simply because bureaucracy
suffocates the doctors.
And the bureaucratization
of a diabetes patient
requires almost
one employee,
with the questions the health insurance companies have,
with the requirements that are asked.
But it's just an accompaniment.
There is no longer the thought of healing
in the system,
but only accompaniment with insulin
and research.
This is a very unpleasant development,
which unfortunately
has to be observed here.
And it's probably also about a lot of money, right?
I could imagine that
insulin probably earns a lot of money.
And now
a diet
or a few
plant extracts,
natural remedies
are not patentable and there is
little incentive for the pharmaceutical industry.
Exactly.
The exciting challenge
for the pharmaceutical industry is
how do I get more diabetes patients?
And
there is a lot of attention
on how I can explain
someone to a diabetes patient even earlier.
How can I define
a so-called prediabetes
by
lowering certain sugar
limits even further,
do certain provocation tests,
which then indicate
that a prediabetes
is already developing here.
And instead of
consistently
preventing it with nutritional changes
and anti-inflammatory and probiotic measures,
these people
are already
used to a sugar meter
very early on
and are used to how quickly
blood sugar can be measured
via the mobile app and how
insulin can be injected
to keep the sugar in balance.
This bio-tracking,
where something is planted
under the skin that constantly
measures the sugar level,
where you can constantly observe it on your mobile phone,
of course, also leads to
constantly injecting a small amount
so that you are constantly in balance.
So there is a whole new
income branch
for the pharmaceutical industry
opening up.
This is not only the case in the diabetes area,
but also, for example,
in the blood pressure area.
You said the values are being lowered.
I think that's also the case with blood pressure values.
It is partly the case that they
have been adapted, in quotation marks,
so that you can prescribe medications earlier.
It's the same here.
If you live in America,
you can be sued by your patient
as a doctor if you have a blood pressure
of 140 to 80.
That means the doctor is to blame
for all the medications
that are prescribed in the guidelines.
If the doctor has not given them all,
he is responsible
for the increased blood pressure
of the patient.
This means that the doctor
has to prescribe
all four or five blood pressure drugs
to the patient
in order to maintain
his liability insurance
and to be able to continue
to feed his family.
So that he cannot be shown
and convicted.
And this development is
more and more sweeping over here
now through the digitized
medical records.
The health insurance companies
see exactly who prescribes what
and can now intervene
regularly and criminally
if you do not prescribe everything
that is intended for this disease.
What pharmacy has
intended here, has given
pharmaceutical companies
what is absolutely necessary here.
This is an unpleasant development
with incredibly ecological collateral damage.
You can see how many
packages have to be produced,
how much plastic, how much
robbery is carried out on earth
to produce this medicine.
A third of it has to be thrown away
because of the shelf life
or because
the patient compliance
is not as you
or some doctors
wish. That means the patient
throws things away earlier
and so it goes back
into the environment.
Just as we use stool and urine
to return the products of these
chemical drugs back to nature.
So the ecological damage
if someone is not ready
to change his life
and rather take
10, 15 different
chemical tablets.
This is a real find
that is completely underestimated.
And it also ends up in the water cycle
and in our drinking water,
in tap water.
In the classic
waterworks
it is not filtered out.
In some cases
there are no limits for it.
And of course
it also ends up in the water
where animals live
and of course in the water cycle.
It is a very exciting research
that for example
they change their gender
because of the
anti-baby pill
residues in the water.
There are then
frogs or fish
that were male before
become females.
There is already this observation.
I also find it very exciting and very important
that you address this again.
If I only look at
from an egoistic point of view
although it would make sense
to pay attention to your health
but also what you do to the earth
with your consumption
and also with your health
or anti-health.
There is already
a rat tail behind it.
Absolutely, yes.
Okay.
Then I would say
as a conclusion
we have it
in our hands, the topic of diabetes.
We have now detailed
which factors are important
and you can influence them positively.
What would you estimate
if someone, the factors
that you have in your hands, the diet,
the topic of intestinal health, the topic of stress,
the inflammation
maybe the one or the other
substance
with plant extracts.
How many percent of diabetes cases
have to be treated with medication?
How much could you replace
from the people
who otherwise have to take medication?
We have a hereditary component
and this hereditary component
type 1 diabetes
is really very resistant.
It is almost not to be influenced.
We can only create through healthy lifestyle
that we need a little less insulin.
But type 2 diabetes
I am firmly convinced
that it could cure
70, maybe even 75 percent
of cases
if the diet is radically changed,
the inflammatory processes are reduced
and these five pillars
of healthy lifestyle
of healthy aging
are fulfilled.
The first pillar, the healing of food.
The second pillar, the healing of stress regulation,
of stress integration.
The third pillar,
the healing of the immune system
with its excessive reactions.
The fourth pillar,
the healing of self-perception
and self-identity.
The large area of psychosomatics,
of inner healing and so on.
And the fifth pillar,
the pillar of
the connection,
the psycho-emotional,
psycho-social connection.
How well someone is bound,
feels safe in this bound network.
This is a very important factor
that is accessible to the long life,
that is accessible to the healthy life.
These five pillars
can now be supported
with meditation, with breathing
and with this high-dose natural medicine
as we have shown here
in some receptors.
Yes, exciting.
How would society change
if 70, 75 percent of people
would lose insulin?
That would be
a very exciting question.
And what is always exciting
is,
what kind of reaction
would there be if such a thing
was possible with drugs?
Only a small fraction of it.
Then the focus would be completely on it.
But we have other strategies
that you have just explained,
but which,
for economic reasons,
are unfortunately
not in the focus.
But thank you very much
for your detailed preparation.
And I think that was
very good information for the viewers
on how they can take responsibility
for their health,
also on the subject of diabetes.
And thank you very much for your effort
and I'm looking forward to our next conversation.
My pleasure, Sören.
Okay, see you.
Bye.
