Hey, how's it going?
Blue Apparent here.
We're going to talk real quick about our first concert and mine was Kansas.
Kansas was my first concert.
It was at Chicagoland Speedway and I believe I was probably like 10 or 11 at the time.
I went with my mom for a NASCAR race so that was pretty crazy and seeing them guys up there
jamming, still like killing it, I guess like brings me a little bit more inspiration to
know that like it doesn't matter how old you are.
You can do it.
That's what makes you happy and that's what you love.
That's what you need to do.
So I took that back away from it and as far as getting the tickets, I believe my mom got
them from a friend that worked for a police department.
She got the tickets for free so I guess I didn't even have to pay for my first concert
and it was Kansas.
So Carry On My Wayward Son, when they played that, it was super dope.
That was probably the only song I knew at the time.
So that was pretty sick watching that as a little kid and like seeing the music video
and then seeing them up there playing that.
So that's a good memory.
It was a hot, hot day that day and they were outside at like a festival type deal but I'll
never forget that.
That was my first concert.
Alright, what's up?
My name's Keaton.
I play guitar in Blueprint.
In my first concert, I saw poison and this was at Fiddler's Green.
I was seven years old.
My dad got the tickets from his work.
My dad's actually best friend actually ran a security company out there and they were
doing security at Fiddler's Green and he found out that I wanted to learn how to play guitar.
I heard Slash, Guns N' Roses on the radio and I fell in love with it.
Obviously, Sweet Child of Mine, favorite song as far as growing up and I feel like that's
every beginner's first song they learn how to play or want to learn how to play.
But my dad got the concerts from his buddy and he found out I was learning how to play
guitar and he was like, hey, well we got to start them out right with some 80s rock, 80s
hair metal.
Let's send them out there and we listened to Poison on the car out there and I was stoked.
I was like, this is going to be crazy.
Back then, we didn't have internet so I was like pulling out the old CDs my dad had of
Poison being like, oh my god, these guys are dressing like girls and stuff.
This is kind of weird but I'm into it.
Let's go to the show.
And we go to the show and CC DeVille, their guitar player, ripped this crazy guitar solo.
It totally melted my face and I came home and I was never more inspired in my life to
pick up the guitar and keep on playing.
I remember it was Poison, Def Leppard, and Dokken.
It was this crazy lineup and I saw the drummer show up with one arm and it just blew my mind
once I saw Def Leppard up there.
So crazy inspiration, still an inspiration to me.
I love 80s rock, 80s metal, still gets my heart pumping and my juices flowing.
