Welcome to Eigo no Sensei.
Today, I would like to introduce an English interview.
As for the flow of this video,
first, you will see everything in Japanese with subtitles,
and then I will introduce English that I often use in each scene.
The timestamp is posted in the description and comment section, so please check it out.
First, let's look at it with subtitles in Japanese.
For you two on the end, I mean growing up in Australia,
what was it about K-pop for you guys?
Like why?
And I don't mean to ask that in such like a brash way,
but like you could have done other stuff, right?
True, true, true.
You want to go first?
Yeah.
Oh, I mean, I guess for me, when I was little,
I just grew up listening to music, whether it's K-pop, pop,
I listened to all kinds of genre of music and you know,
having to listen to K-pop growing up,
I guess it made me think,
oh, you know what, why not just give it a shot?
So if there's any chance coming by, you know, get ready for it.
Yeah.
But like you have a pop scene too.
You could have done like Australian Idol or something.
True, true, true.
What was it about like the genre?
Oh, like for me, for K-pop, it's especially K-pop.
I was just very into dancing, you know, how they prepare for stages.
So even performing about dancing and having to show all kinds of other stuff
that just really caught my attention to what K-pop really is.
For you two in the end, I mean, growing up in Australia.
Yep, yep.
Grow up.
Kids grow up fast.
What was it about K-pop for you guys?
Like why?
And I don't mean to ask that in such like a brash way, but like.
Mean to.
I didn't mean to hurt you.
You could have done other stuff, right?
True, true, true.
Could have done.
I could have done my homework yesterday.
Yeah.
Oh, I mean, I guess for me, when I was little,
I just grew up listening to music, whether it's K-pop, pop.
Whether it's RRB.
I don't mind whether it's ice cream or puddings.
Having to listen to K-pop growing up, I guess it made me think,
oh, you know what?
Why not just give it a shot?
Give it a shot.
I've never played golf, but I think I'll give it a shot.
But like you have a pop scene too.
You could have done like Australian Idol or something.
Or something.
He's a lawyer or something.
True, true, true.
What was it about like the genre?
Oh, like for me, for K-pop, it's especially K-pop.
Especially.
I especially like Western movies.
I was just very into dancing, you know, how they prepare for stages.
I am really into cooking right now.
And so even performing while dancing and having to show all kinds of other stuff,
that just really caught my attention to what K-pop really is.
So yeah.
Catch one's attention.
The child tried to catch my attention.
So let's watch Part 2 in Japanese.
Is there pressure that comes along with that?
I think it's different for everyone.
But I think for me, the biggest pressuring thing was if I could make it or not.
Not knowing what's going to happen, I think for me was the most pressuring.
So eight years you're in this program, that's like a really hard thing to be a part of.
Like it's not easy.
Is there a real fear that you might not debut?
Yes, there is.
Because there was a time when for me, I had a lot of, you know, people that I was close to.
But then besides just me, everyone else just did not make it.
And I was alone for quite a while.
And that's when, you know, like a lot of thoughts came in.
And yeah, I was in like a very dark stage of my time.
And it was pretty hard.
But getting through all that, I got my mindset to get a little clearer.
These boys came in and yeah, they basically saved me.
What's up?
Yeah, you saved me.
Or did you save each other?
I think we saved each other.
Yeah.
We were destined to be.
Oh.
Is there pressure that comes along with that?
Come along.
A taxi will come along shortly.
I think it's different for everyone.
But I think for me, the biggest pressuring thing was if I could make it or not.
Make it.
I made it to the party.
Not knowing what's going to happen, I think for me was the most pressuring.
Is there a real fear that you might not debut?
Fear of heights is a common feeling that is easy to understand.
Yes, there is.
Because there was a time when for me, I had a lot of people that I was close to.
Be close to.
I am really close to my sister.
But then besides just me, everyone else just did not make it.
Besides, I have two brothers besides him.
And I was alone for quite a while.
Quite a while.
He was silent for quite a while.
I was in like a very dark stage of my time.
And it was pretty hard.
But.
Hard.
It's delicious, but hard to eat.
Getting through all that got my mindset to get a little clearer.
Get through.
Let's just get through with this.
These boys came in and yeah, they basically saved me.
What's up?
Yeah, you saved me.
Or did you save each other?
I think we saved each other.
Yeah.
We were destined to be.
