Alright, this is Scott from Unleash the Archers.
We just finished our Abyss CD release album stream thing.
I'm going to take a break from breaking down this kit and give you my top five tour tips.
You're watching Digital Tour Bus.
Tour tip number one, you've got to have a safety sack.
So when we used to tour in vans, everybody had a Tupperware little sealed tub, like foot
by a half foot kind of thing, and this was where your wallet, your keys, your phone,
your headphones, your eye mask, your earplugs, all the shit that you absolutely cannot lose.
Now that we're more bussy and stuff like that, everybody's bunk has sort of become their
safety sack kind of thing, but you also have your one cabinet or whatever that's your
door jam.
You've got to, on day one, everyone secures that.
That's like your don't touch, put all my real things in there.
Tour tip number one.
Tour tip number two, disposables.
It's super hard to wash underwear and socks, and those things are super cheap, so it's
better to buy 30 pairs of underwear if you're on a 30 day tour, because trying to get clean
underwear just isn't going to happen.
So just commit, before you leave on the road, go to Walmart, get 30 pairs of little disposable
things that make life a little better.
Tour tip number three.
You're actually getting to see the world in a pretty cool way, so again, this will come
up in tour tip number five, but stop and smell the roses.
If you're going through Arizona, go see the Grand Canyon.
Do these things.
If you're in Paris, go see the Eiffel Tower, because I think a lot of touring the world
that I've done anyways has been through UTA, and I've made a real point of getting out,
seeing cities, seeing sights, exploring the world, and it's made a huge difference.
I've got a lot of memories from it.
It's worth doing.
You're never probably going to be in Mostly Spices again, so get out there and enjoy it
more than just the show, because the show is like one hour a day, and the rest of the
day, you have a lot of time to sit around and wait, and you can go and see some pretty
cool stuff, so get out there.
Tour tip number four, audio books.
God, you have so much fucking time on your hands when you're on the road.
There's infinite time.
You're in your bunk for the whole drive and everything, or in the van or whatever, and
then it's like, hurry up, sound check, and then hurry up and wait, and you just sit there
and sit there and sit there.
If you don't have something to pass the time, and Netflix is cool, but Wi-Fi is patchy when
you're out of your own country, and you don't have cell plans and everything, download audio
books.
God, download audio books.
If you're not into audio books, get into audio books, because they're the best for passing
tour time.
Tour tip number five, enjoy the tour because it's not work, and that's one thing I...
It's like this mental break, and if you don't soak it up and enjoy that, you're missing
out, so make sure you stop and smell the roses while you're on tour, because it's definitely
not real life, and it's a cool break that you don't normally get unless you're on tour.
