Blue Thread Locker to Prevent Bolts from Loosening

I've had a tough time with the bolts that hold my custom wheel center caps in place. They loosen and then fall out. I've spent over $15 on replacement bolts and even had to replace a missing center cap! Threadlocker Blue will hopefully solve this issue for me. I've applied threadlocker blue to two of my wheel center caps and now time will tell if it is successful.

Welcome back guys it's the Tightwad and today I'm going to show you how to
prevent bolts on your vehicle from coming loose and getting lost. This is
one of the bolts that holds my center caps on my custom wheels and you can see
even when it's screwed in it's really loose. So with the vibration of the truck
going down the road these tend to loosen up and fall out. I've lost five or six of
these and they're not cheap because they're stainless steel so they run
about $3 a piece. I've come up with a way to prevent these from falling out
while driving down the road and that is using blue threadlocker. There are a lot
of different brands of this I just went to my local hardware store that's a few
miles away from my house and picked this one up. I don't think the brand matters
too much but Permatex is a known to be a good brand for adhesives so I'm gonna go
with that for this as well. I opened it and it comes with a little dropper like
this with a little hole in the tip and I'm just gonna put a little bit of it on
the tips of these bolts because only about the first five or six threads
actually go in and I'm gonna so I'm gonna add some here just a little bit.
I'm gonna use my finger to make sure it spreads around because you don't need a
ton so that I've got a nice coating all on the tip here and now I can put it
through my wheel and get everything lined up and just tighten it down with
my Allen wrench just like I usually would. So what this is gonna do is it's
gonna hold the bolts in there firmly so that they won't vibrate out but then
since it's the blue threadlocker I'll still be able to remove them later and
I'm not gonna fully tighten it until I get the other one done too. So here's one
of my replacement bolts it's not threaded all the way but it doesn't make
a difference on this. So again I'm gonna add the threadlocker to the tip here
make sure it gets spread all around and put it in. I'm gonna make sure they're
nice and snug but not overly tight and in a few weeks I'll leave a comment in
the comment section below I'll actually pin the comment telling when I test
these again to see if they've loosened up at all whether or not they're loose.
So I'm gonna come back out and try to give them a quarter turn which I usually
would be able to get a quarter turn every few weeks and if I can't do that
then I'll let you know and it'll be a definite it worked. Just a little bit
more information this is the blue threadlocker and this is considered
medium strength but they make a red threadlocker also that is super heavy
duty and red threadlocker is actually really hard to get bolts out after you
use it. It's not impossible but it's hard to remove bolts that have used the red
threadlocker so I recommend anytime you have some you need to be able to remove
such as on your wheels that you use the blue threadlocker instead. Just to
prevent the naysayers I've waited 48 hours on these wheels and I'm going to
show you how you can still pop the blue threadlocker with just an Allen wrench.
So 48 hours later and it comes right out. So you don't need a special tool with
this blue threadlocker if you use the red you would most likely need some kind
of torque wrench to get it out. You don't need to use the purple on this
application you can see this is the one that had the threadlocker on it. I hope
