Hi YT fam! In today’s video it’s my home office reveal. This is an area I have been working on for a few months now. This is a spare room we have in our upstairs living space. It’s been a variety of different things (filming room, makeup/ getting ready room). I finally decided to make this room a space I could come to edit videos, and create content. I hope you enjoy!

back to my channel if you are new welcome my name is Hannah and on this
channel we talk all home decor home aesthetics mixing high and low with new
and old and in today's video it is my home office reveal so if this is
something you are interested in watching just keep on watching so before we get
into the reveal of this room I do want to give you guys the backstory for some
of you that are new to my channel now this room is in our upstairs living
space we have our primary my daughter's rooms that share a Jack and Jill
bathroom and then this is just kind of a random empty room now it has been a
plethora of different things that has been a makeup room I used to get ready
in there then I turned it into a filming room where I was doing some of my videos
but I wasn't liking having to use studio lighting so I decided to start using
this as a space to edit my videos prior I was editing all of my videos on my
laptop down on my kitchen island countertops and it just was not
comfortable so over the past few months I have been buying things slowly kind of
curating this space to feel like me a space that I can go and edit my videos
have my workspace it's quiet and I'm really happy with how it turned out it's
edgy it's moody it's rustic but it's also modern I hope you guys enjoy I know
this has been a space you guys have kind of seen a little bit in some of my
videos but I will have everything linked down in the description box for you guys
if you want to check it out without further ado let's get into today's
reveal I'm gonna be providing plenty of b-rolls of the overall space so that way
you guys can see it given this room is really small and I have to stand in
frame but we're gonna start with the first and largest item of my office
which is the sideboard behind me now I purchased this years ago when I worked
for restoration hardware and it was one of those pieces that I fell in love with
almost instantly it had this really beautiful rustic character to it and had
unique door fronts on it and I thought this would be a really cool piece to
have in my office space I love the coloring and I also really enjoy the
fact that I have yet to see anybody else have this sideboard it is kind of unique
it is kind of special it's not going to be something that everybody's going to
love and I just something about it really was just calling to me so that is
like kind of the biggest piece that I built this office space around now the
next big item for this office space are the mirrors I wanted to bring in that
modern element I didn't know if I wanted to bring a piece of artwork or if I
wanted to do a mirror moment and I thought this would be a really cool
thing to do here on the sideboard these are anchored to the wall and I decided
to do two very different mirrors in the same finish so the larger one is from
rejuvenation and then the second one that has that kind of arch shape is from
Crate and Barrel I think this just adds so much more lightness to my space since
this is a small bedroom when that light comes down here on the west side it kind
of reflects and just makes this space really bright really airy and it
definitely opens it up to feel larger so this was the mirrors and then obviously
the decor is all from all over I have my coffee table books I have some of my
beautiful decor elements I've curated over over time I have a rustic lamp but
then I also brought in my rustic vessel here that is from restoration hardware
as well the stems within it are real those are from my olive tree that I have
in my backyard and so I just loved mixing up this sideboard decor every
now and then kind of getting creative and mixing things around this sideboard
is rather long so I do have a lot of room to play with when it comes to
decorating this space so that is this area all right the next item is
obviously my desk now I wanted something that was simple and clean
because this room is not big I think it's either a 10 by 10 or a 12 by 12 in
size so I didn't want to overcrowd it with a really big and bulky desk so I
ended up getting this from Pottery Barn I love the color does have two very slim
drawers so you do have space to house some of your essentials when it comes to
office supplies obviously I have my computer if you would have caught my
Amazon office like Luxe looks for less I have all of my office stuff featured
in that video so I have this like really fun acrylic stands I just wanted
something again that was very simple and very clean and something that wasn't
going to take up too much space so that is my desk so the next item I brought to
my space was this really fun faux black olive tree now I knew I wanted to bring
in some greenery here but like I mentioned I'm probably gonna say this a
ton of times this space is not very big so I couldn't afford to have a really
large tree in here taking up a bunch of square footage so I actually found this
on Pottery Barn this is considered a black olive tree which is very popular
right now and I just love how simple it is you bring in that greenery but you
also have this just very structural type tree and I paired it in one of my
vintage black clay pots that I got at an antique shop here in San Diego so I love
that we are bringing in that green color we're kind of breaking up all the
tones here but still keeping it in kind of a very minimal looking approach so
that was the tree all right so I wanted to do a seating area for my husband
because once our girls have gone down to bed and I come in here and I edit I
wanted a space for him to be able to hang out in here with me so I created
this kind of really fun seating moment now starting with the wall I have a
Amazon picture light above it that's rechargeable and then I have two very
different pieces of artwork stacked on top of each other the first smaller one
is from Magnolia Home and then the second one was a special order through
my sister's shop by an artist called Eileen Fitzgerald I then picked up this
really beautiful green accent chair from West Elm and I paired it with more of
that modern element which is this marble fluted a side table of course I have my
collection of different decor elements my candle but I wanted a space for my
husband to just be able to come in here hang out with me if I am editing I love
how this little seating area turned out this next area is very challenging to
film but I wanted to highlight the rug because this rug was the second item
that I purchased to kind of ground the rest of my design so after my sideboard
I found this guy on CB2 if you know me I love my floral print so this was a rug
that I fell in love with the second I saw it it's very edgy yet it's very
beautiful and whimsical the colors within this rug are black a little bit
of mustard green so pairing off that chair that's behind it and it has
really beautiful fringe detailing on the side so when I found this this was kind
of like the grounding space of like my desk and everything else I've built
around it so again this rug is from CB2 it is hand knotted so it's a little bit
more of an investment but I am to a point now in my life where I am
investing in beautiful pieces for my home and I really when I see something I
love if it means me saving up X amount of time to buy something that I really
really want then that's what I'm gonna do and this rug was one of them one of
the last elements of my office space is obviously the light fixture above me now
I was looking really hard for a light fixture for this space I wasn't sure
which direction I wanted to go did I want it to be more rustic did I want it
to be more modern and I actually came across this light on Amazon I've been
so thrilled with it it definitely is more of that modern feel I love the
brass in here it kind of breaks up all the other black tones that I have in
here and when all of the lights are off and it's just this overhead light
fixture it gives such a warm feeling because it's bouncing that light off of
the brass drum and it is so cozy and is such a vibe in here I'll have the
overhead light on with the lamp and it's just the most perfect ambience for
working and having just a really quiet and just very cozy feeling so this was
the light fixture that I picked up for the space so the last area which isn't
very exciting I have this really fun acrylic calendar that I have mounted on
this side of my office I'm a visual person and I love being able to like
write down my weeks and what content I'm filming that week I also will jot
down ideas for content and it just keeps me kind of on track like I said
I'm a very visual person so I love seeing things written down I did
purchase this on Amazon it's been super helpful now the only bummer about this
side of my office is they do have outlets on if you guys can see that
against the wall for whatever reason in this build they had accommodated for
TVs in every single room which we don't have TVs in our bedrooms we only have
our TV in our living room and the loft space so I didn't want to put artwork
here and then have the mirrors and artwork here I didn't want to have every
wall have something so I decided to just do this acrylic calendar and this is
just a really great space for me to create my content edit for you guys and
I just really love that I'm able to share it with you guys so that is the
last and final element of my office all right guys and that is it for today's
