Hi YT fam!!!! In today’s video we decorate some areas within my home (living room coffee table, sideboard and entryway space.) With us transitioning into those upcoming fall months - I wanted to share how my space is currently decorated up until that fall flip. I hope you enjoy and get inspired for your own home.
Hannah demonstrates \"transitional decorating\" to refresh her home for the shift toward fall. By blending substantial vessels, greenery, and curated vintage finds, she creates a sophisticated seasonal bridge across her sideboard, entryway, and coffee table, emphasizing a maximalist aesthetic and the strategic rotation of decor to maintain visual interest.
Hi guys, and welcome back to my channel.
If you are new, welcome.
My name is Hannah, and in today's video,
we are doing a decorate with me
for some transitional decorating.
So if this is something you are interested in watching,
just keep on watching.
All right, so this video is going to be
kind of a transitional decorating video.
We're gonna be highlighting the sideboard behind me,
my coffee table in my living room space,
as well as my front entryway.
I'm not quite ready to decorate for fall.
We are still in the middle of July.
You guys can anticipate more of that fall content
between hauls and decades with me,
more of that fall inspiration
towards the end of next month in August.
But this video is kind of to give you some inspiration
if you are wanting to maybe refresh your space.
You're not really quite sure how to decorate
as we are coming into the fall months.
Hopefully this video will act as a guide,
and again, as always, some inspiration.
As you guys know, if there's anything from today's video
that you wanna check out, check the description box.
Those are affiliate links.
I greatly appreciate any time you guys
decide to purchase through those links,
but I will do my best to link anything
from today's video down below.
But hopefully you guys are getting geared up.
Hopefully you guys are getting excited
as we are coming into fall.
As you guys know, I cannot wait.
I'm ready for fall time, but again,
I still feel like it's a little too early
to decorate quite yet.
Without further ado, let's get into today's video.
Okay, so I decided I'm going to talk through
all of my decorate with me today
because it seems like you guys really enjoy that
when I just talk through my decorating process.
So we are obviously starting with my sideboard first.
We're gonna be bringing one of my vessels.
This is from Restoration Hardware,
as you guys are familiar with.
This is the Rice Wine Vessel.
This does come in this color
and it does come in a reversed option.
I believe these are still available.
These vessels are definitely one of my go-to
when styling some of my larger furniture pieces
because they are so substantial.
So we're gonna start with this guy first.
All right, so we're gonna be bringing
a stem to this vessel, obviously,
and this is a rather new purchase for me.
You guys will recognize it from my intro,
but I recently picked up the fig stems
from Crate & Barrel.
Now, these stems, disclaimer, are an investment,
but you really only need one of them.
I purchased two because I have them styled
in two different spaces of my home,
one here and one in my bedroom,
but this branch is seriously so substantial.
It's almost like a tree.
So you guys can see how big it is,
but then look at how much I have bent.
So if you have a huge vessel,
maybe you have a floor vessel,
or you have something where you like really tall ceilings
and you need something really big,
this has been a really nice option.
Now, one thing I love about fig,
I think this is a great transitional stem
as we are coming into fall time.
Figs are a great way to decorate for fall time,
and you can honestly find some of the stems of a fig
that has the changing of the green
where it's a little bit more burnt.
I know Afloral has some really beautiful ones,
but I have been honestly really enjoying this stem here.
So that is our next item we're adding to this vessel.
All right, so the next item
we're gonna be adding are coffee table books.
We're gonna be styling these
in a vertical orientation against my vessel.
I'm bringing portraits of home,
and I'm also bringing Annie Leibovitz photography book.
Like I've mentioned many times in previous videos,
when I am styling any surface within my home,
I try to pay attention to what coffee table books
or what books in general I'm utilizing.
I want them to complement the style.
So for instance, I love the fact
that there's this green from the spine of the portraits book
that plays nicely with the fig stem.
So that is why I'm utilizing these two books.
So again, we're gonna put these
in a vertical against the vessel.
All right, so this next home decor item
is honestly one of my favorites.
This was an item that was gifted to me
from Greenhouse Marche in Florida.
Her name is Sarah.
She is a small business owner
who has a beautiful Etsy shop.
And this is what it is.
It is supposed to be a book stand,
but this is actually a vintage camel saddle
that was transformed into a book stand.
I don't use it as a book stand.
I love it just as a piece of artwork.
And so I'm just gonna style this right next to the books,
but this is honestly one of my favorite pieces
and was so happy the fact that Sarah thought
this would be a perfect item for my home.
And it really is.
It truly is such a cool and unique piece.
Her information is linked down below,
but this is the next item
we're gonna be styling on our sideboard.
Okay, so the next item does have
a little bit of a backstory to it
because this was 100% a custom piece for me.
I had something in mind that I wanted for my kitchen space,
but anytime I got online to try to find something
like Remote Lake Foss, I couldn't find anything.
So I reached out to a seller that is over in Turkey
to see if he would be able to create me what I had.
I sent him my idea, my vision, the dimensions,
and he was actually able to create it for me.
And on another note, if you guys like this piece,
he was actually able to create a custom listing
for this item.
So if this is something that you love as well,
he did make it a permanent item within his Etsy storefront
because I got so many questions on this piece.
It is very heavy, a lot of breath
because I was carrying it, but this is what it is.
This is like a 30 pound marble plinth riser
that I had him make out of marble viola.
I gave him the dimensions that I wanted.
It is not meant to look new.
It has got dings and scratches and chips,
and I just love that about it.
But I use this as a riser, and like I said,
I got this for my kitchen,
but I try to move things around my space
because things get redundant
and how can I utilize this beautiful item in different ways?
Utilizing this riser as a way to house some of my decor
here on my sideboard.
All right, next item,
we are bringing in a flame or candle aspect.
I purchased this candle back in wintertime
because I kind of fell in love with the packaging.
I love how big this candle is.
This is called the Big Ass Candle.
Like, I'm not even exaggerating.
It has Big Ass Candle on the front of the packaging,
but I love candles.
I love the packaging of this.
I love that it is nice, clean,
and this is a huge candle.
I have to say, this is the Sea Salt and Orchid.
I've had three different scents.
This is okay, not my favorite scent
because I was doing like a subscription of these
so I can rotate the smells,
but this has been a really great candle.
My only recommendation for these,
you have to burn them a while.
Otherwise, you are going to lose so much product.
So once I burn this,
I burn it for about a good solid five hours
so that way it can burn all the way across the top
and I get most of my money with this candle.
So this is the next item.
All right, last and final item
that we are adding to the sideboard styling,
which as you guys know,
I really like to get creative with certain things here.
So I have these vintage wooden candle holders.
So if you guys see,
there's actually a little piece on there
to poke one of your candle pillars,
but I wanted to do something a little bit different.
I've been getting really into matches lately
as this has kind of been more of like a popular way
to style candles.
So I'm using it as like a little match holder
and then we're just going to place it
right next to my candle.
But again, this is a prime example
of just like utilizing what you have
and try to figure out a different way to utilize it.
I've used these for candles.
I use these on their own
and then like I said,
I was just kind of messing around the other day
and I'm like, let's throw some matches on it.
You know, who knows?
Who cares?
You don't know until you try, right?
So that is the last item for the sideboard style.
All right, we are shifting gears
to my front entryway space.
Now this is a space that I really love styling,
but I always try to do different styles.
I try to push myself to use maybe things
I've not used before
when it comes to like my home decor toolbox
and the items that I own.
And just trying to come up with different formulations
because obviously being on YouTube, being on Instagram,
you guys kind of look towards your favorite creators
to get inspired.
So if I'm just sharing the same thing over and over again
or sharing the same style over and over again,
it obviously gets very redundant.
So you guys actually push me out of my comfort zone
to do different things.
So let's get started with the first item,
which is a really beautiful vintage vessel.
All right, so I got this
while I was vacationing in Arizona.
I did do this in a home decor hall last year
and I love this.
I did find a seller on Etsy
that sells something very similar,
but I love the braided detailing.
It's a really great size, short and squatty,
and the braided detailing coloring is just Jeff's kiss.
So we're gonna put this on the far left.
All right, so we're gonna be bringing some stems now
to this space and I'm sticking with the green aspect.
I'm not really bringing in a lot of flowers.
I didn't really bring a lot of flowers in all of summertime.
So I am bringing in some olive branches.
These are from our house.
And quite honestly, I was not quite sure
how I was going to like these.
Buying stems online is like such a hit or miss,
but these are really, really good.
This is what they look like up close.
They have a really nice, realistic approach
to their greenery, to the leaves, to the branches.
I also love the fact
that these have different colored olives.
So you have a mixture of ones that are brown.
You have ones that have a little bit of green
almost transitioning to brown,
giving it more of that realistic look.
And obviously just their movement
also is really super realistic.
So I have a total of five of them.
So you guys can see how full.
I have them bent because they are tall.
So if you have a really tall vessel,
these are a really great option,
but we're just going to stick these right into the vase.
All right, next items that we are going to be utilizing
for this sideboard styling,
we are bringing in two different coffee table books.
And I love these because they are just a hair bit oversized.
So these are more like
the architectural digest coffee table books.
So these are great if you have a larger surface,
maybe you have a really oversized coffee table,
or if you have a really big sideboard,
I definitely suggest utilizing the bigger books
to fill up a little bit more real estate,
but we're going to be styling these
in a horizontal orientation.
Okay, so the next item that is going to be styled
on top of those books is a vintage marble mortar.
Now I'm such a sucker for these.
I now have three of them.
I don't know if I'm starting to get into collecting them
or what, but I love these.
This is vintage.
So each one of them do vary in color and shape.
They are hand carved.
This one was from Europe and I love them.
They all come in different shapes and sizes,
but I love styling these not only as like a decor item,
but I love these in my kitchen.
You can throw garlic in them.
You can throw really anything you want
for the kitchen space.
And they just add so much character,
so much movement and just visual interest.
So I'm going to place this right on top of those books.
All right, so the next items that we are going to be adding
right next to that stack of coffee table books
with the mortar are two more coffee table books.
These are a normal size though,
because we are going to be putting them
in a vertical versus horizontal.
So I don't only have the depth to do really large books,
but I do have them for the average standard size.
So I have arranging things, live beautiful.
And again, we're going to be doing these
in a vertical orientation.
All right, next we're going to be bringing in
some candle accessories.
First, we're going to be starting with
this really beautiful porcelain dish.
I sourced this when I was in Arizona on vacation.
It is low profile and I love the blue detailing.
And then one of my favorite candles
that I constantly burn here in my home,
this is by Brooklyn Candle Co. in the scent Italia.
And we're just placing that candle right there,
right on top of those books.
Next item we are bringing is a piece of artwork
to this space.
Now this artwork is actually going to be going
into my office area.
I'm planning on doing a really fun video for you guys.
We're doing a gallery wall.
So this print is not going to live here,
but I found this on, believe it or not, Ashley Furniture.
I've never shopped at Ashley before,
but I got online looking for horse prints
and came across this.
Very impressed with the quality of this, you guys.
Price was actually very reasonable,
but it's just a canvas wrap of just horses,
but it's very neutral.
It's in a really beautiful kind of tan color.
And then it does have a really nice dark walnut frame.
But isn't that pretty?
Simple.
Love my horses.
And I just was really pleased with the quality of this.
But yeah, Ashley Furniture.
And we're just going to style this
right on the console table.
Second to last item for this console table
is some candlestick holders.
I did store these when I was in Arizona,
but I found them on Wayfair.
They're in a really fun, almost like a pewter blue color.
And they are so fun.
It kind of also plays off of the little dish
that we have there.
There are two different sizes.
You obviously have your small and your large,
and I have candlesticks within there.
And I just really love this for a little bit of color.
If you guys remember too,
I incorporated this color for Christmas time.
So I definitely feel like this is kind of a double whammy
of utilizing it year round,
but also being able to utilize these
during the holiday season.
So this is the next item.
All right, final aspect of this console styling
is I am bringing in this vintage brass horse.
This is great because we are bringing in a new material.
I don't have any brass or any silver or even any black.
And so bringing in a little bit of contrast
through bringing in a different material
gives for a very visually interesting look.
It's also going to play off of the artwork
that stands behind it.
We're just gonna be pairing this right next to the candles.
And I sourced this when I was in Arizona.
I was able to find something very similar on Etsy,
but this is the last and final decor piece.
All right, welcome to my living room space.
We're gonna be decorating my coffee table next.
So we're gonna start with the first decor piece,
which is a really beautiful vase by McGee & Co.
I was gifted this back in, I believe this springtime
when she dropped this new collection.
This is a really beautiful,
if you are one that loves green,
this is a really beautiful piece to add to your space.
It's got a little bit of a floral type detailing on the top,
nothing in your face,
but just enough to give it a little bit of contrast,
a little bit of visual interest.
And again, this was one of the newer pieces
from her spring collection.
This does come in a matching kind of low profile dish.
So we're gonna start with the vase first
on the right-hand corner of my coffee table.
Okay, so we are going to be adding some stems
to that green base.
This has been my go-to arrangement
that I created for spring slash summertime.
This is what it looks like, and I love the way this looks.
We have a total of four different stems here.
You're getting kind of the spring and summer feel
through the floral aspect,
but I then did add a seeded kind of mustard colored stem
for more of that transition into our fall time.
So let me walk you through how I created this
and what we have.
Starting with the asparagus bush,
this can be purchased at Hobby Lobby.
I believe I have four bundles here.
Now, depending on how big your arrangement is
or how big your vase is,
you may need more, you may need less.
The next stem is a Hobby Lobby white lilac.
I have six of those stems that are kind of sporadic
throughout the whole arrangement.
Again, those are Hobby Lobby.
Adding in another fan favorite,
which is the white cosmos from Hobby Lobby.
I believe I have five of those,
and then I really pull them apart
so they have this more like wild look to them.
And then one of my favorite stems
that I actually found on Amazon,
I was able to source it in another area
because these are sold out.
These are like a little mustard seeded stem.
They look very realistic.
I do plan to style these as is
once we get more into that fall season,
but clearly you can incorporate them
into another arrangement,
and they add so much texture
and just a little bit of that color.
So we're gonna add this to the vase.
All right, so next to the vase,
we're gonna be adding in my McGee and Co. book stand.
This is a really beautiful light oak option.
Now, obviously this is very expensive on her website,
but there are a handful of places
that are starting to carry these,
including at home that has them for about $20,
so you can achieve this look for less.
Many other areas.
But again, we're gonna just place this to the right,
and then we're gonna be bringing in a coffee table book.
This is Love for Home,
and just open it to a beautiful page
that will also complement the rest of the style.
Okay, so next item is a rather new purchase for me.
This next item is from Olivetelier.
I believe this is considered a planter.
I think it's called a cast iron planter on their website,
but I'm utilizing it as just a decorative bowl.
I loved the kind of texture on the outside.
It does have a hole there,
so if you did want to plant some stuff in here,
you obviously could, because it does have drainage,
but again, I'm just using this
as a decorative home decor piece
to place right there on my coffee table.
All right, so we're gonna be adding
some vintage fabric stamps to that cast iron bowl.
These are such fun things to style with.
I know so many of you guys have gotten your hands
on some of them for your own space,
but one thing that's really fun
about these vintage fabric stamps
is they are all different,
so what you might have might be different than mine.
They come in different shapes, different patterns,
and I have collected these from a variety of places,
from Etsy to antique shops to different vintage places,
and I really enjoy styling with these
because they're just different,
and I think things that are different
are really, really cool,
so if you can find some vintage fabric stamps
within your space, if this is your style,
these are super cool,
but again, we're gonna just add these to that cast iron bowl.
All right, next element are obviously
some coffee table books.
I believe a coffee table style would not be complete
without the appearance of some coffee table books.
I have two.
I have Architectural Digest and Eight Homes.
I love these because they are a little bit of a larger book,
and they are also very neutral.
Now, with this style,
this is obviously more of a maximalist style,
which I understand is not for everybody.
I honestly cannot even remember the last time
I decorated this coffee table from a more simple approach.
I enjoy my decor.
I enjoy having my things on showcase,
which I know might be a lot for some people.
A lot of you could look at this style and go,
there's just too much stuff on the coffee table,
which I totally get.
That's why we all have our different preferences,
and I always push you guys to style however it is
that feels right to you and feels good,
so we're gonna be styling these coffee table books
just right in front of the floor arrangement,
and again, Architectural Digest and Eight Homes.
Okay, we are bringing in a functional aspect
to the coffee table, which are coasters.
Now, I purchased these from Amber Interiors.
These are honestly some of my favorite coasters that I own.
I love the fact that they're all very different.
This is in a honed finish marble viola,
so you can tell each one of these coasters
is just a little bit different from one another,
which I think is what makes this set unique.
I also really love the fact that these are a honed finish,
which means they are not shiny.
This one's so cool,
with the perfect split down the center.
These are a little bit of an investment,
I'm not gonna lie,
but I feel like once you invest in a coaster,
you really don't need to replace them,
and I love these on showcase.
These are also really great as a way
to house your candles,
so if you have a little bit of a smaller candle,
it could be a coaster for a candle.
Again, think outside the box
when it comes to some functional decor
and how you can utilize it in a different way.
So we're just gonna place these
on one of those coffee table books.
All right, we're bringing two more coffee table books
to this style, same size as the ones to the right.
This is Rulver Treats, love the green
that plays off of the vase and the stems,
and then we're just gonna put
Alyssa Capetillo's interior right on top of that.
Again, these are just gonna be in a vertical orientation,
doing a side-by-side moment.
All right, this next piece is super fun,
and it's a rather new purchase for me.
Found this on Etsy.
There was not much of a description
on what it was used for,
they just said siding from a building.
This is vintage, and I just thought
the shape of this was so fun and different.
Now, the reason why I originally purchased this
was for a gallery wall that I'm planning to do
in my office, like I mentioned,
and I thought this could make
for almost like an art piece.
However, I put this on my coffee table the other day,
and I'm like, I really love how this looks,
it's almost like a tray.
So obviously you guys will see how I style this,
but isn't that fun and unique and super different?
Again, the shaping is super cool.
You could do it horizontal, you could do vertical.
I don't know if they cut this in half
and there was another portion.
Like I mentioned, not very much information
on what exactly this was or what it was used for,
but it was cool, and I like cool stuff.
So we're gonna be styling this guy.
The last element of our coffee table styling
for my living room are obviously our candle accessories,
starting with this candle, which is currently burning.
This is also from the Greenhouse Marsh.
This is such a cool candle.
The vessel is kind of really what sold me.
Like I said, this is currently burning.
You can see how big it is.
You could use this as just a decor piece
or actually burn it.
When this is done, you can also utilize this little vessel
for really whatever you want.
You can either re-pour a candle,
you could use this as a way to house maybe some spoons
or something like maybe in a coffee bar.
Lots of really cool options.
So I really enjoy finding candles
that have a really cool vessel to get double use out of them.
So candle, and then I have some matches.
This is a really fun porcelain handmade match holder.
It does have the little striker on the bottom.
This is from a rather new company
that I have come across called Roan & Iris.
They are a little bit more on the pricier side,
but they have a lot of really beautiful handmade,
just really cool curated collection of items
that I really enjoy.
Things you don't really see all that often
from some of the more mainstream brands.
So definitely check out Roan & Iris.
So I'm just gonna style the matches
right next to our candle.
All right, you guys, that is it for today's video.
Hopefully you found this video helpful
and inspiring as always.
Leave me a comment down below
when you guys choose to start decorating for fall time.
This is always a really fun question to ask
because it obviously looks different
for a lot of different people.
So let me know down below
when you start your transition for fall time.
But until the next video, I love you guys so much.
Thank you for being here and we'll see you guys soon.
Peace.
