I decided to make a video to show evidence of the danger of tattoo paint with the hope that someone will give up tattooing eyebrows, lips and applying any tattoos to their body.
And even if you were not going to do this, perhaps you have children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren who may suffer from poisoning with mercury, aluminum, titanium, lead and other heavy metals.
To shorten the video time, I will answer two questions and present a conclusion based on 250 sources analyzing tattoos.
So, the first question. Can a tattoo be harmful if the paint only paints the skin?
Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Tattoo paints are applied not to the epidermis, but to the dermis, the inner layer of the skin, where there are blood and lymphatic vessels, salivary and sweat glands, nerve endings, hair roots.
From here, all toxic substances are spread throughout the body.
A group of German and French scientists conducted a chemical analysis of the tattoo paint accumulated in the lymph nodes.
The researchers analyzed the lymph nodes of the bodies with tattoos on the body, as well as the bodies without tattoos.
Pathologists reported that the pigmented and enlarged lymph nodes were observed in the bodies with tattoos on the body.
The second question. Is brand natural paint safe, which is without any chemistry?
This is more of a myth than a truth.
Unfortunately, even in highly civilized countries, few people know the composition of the paints with which the tattoo is made.
Listen to excerpts from scientific papers on the analysis of the chemical composition of the paint for tattooing.
I quote.
In Australia, ink used in tattoo salons was analyzed and it turned out that there may be 89 unique chemical compounds in them, while far from all the ingredients indicated on the label.
Pigments can be soot, iron oxide, clay, cadmium, mercury, naphthol, chrome, turmeric, lead, malachite, copper, cobalt, lazurite, margarine, aluminum, dioxazine, carbazol, titanium, zinc, barry, rutile.
Carriers can be ethanol, methanol, propylene glycol, sorbitol, glycerin, listerine, gammamelis.
The employees of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in a study conducted in 2012 found that a fifth of all tattoo inks contained carcinogenic chemicals.
Moreover, carcinogens were found in 83% of the most popular inks, black.
However, not only black inks are harmful.
The skin around the tattoo, filled with yellow inks, burns much faster under the sun.
In fact, this is a form of allergic reaction and, according to dermatologist David Lorschel, is due to the cadmium sulfide contained in the pigment, which causes swelling and redness around the area of the tattoo under the influence of the sun.
In 2013, the European Society for the Study of Tattoos and Tattoo Pigments was organized.
A group of scientists united to study the problem and ensure the safety standards of the tattoo business, regulate the activities of tattoo artists and pigment painters.
It was this society that discovered barry, copper, mercury and other unsafe components in tattoos.
Their research has confirmed the inconsistency between the specified content of the ink containers and its actual chemical composition, found during testing.
For example, Samuel Epstein states that he has factual evidence of the hit of nanoparticles of black inks in the brain and the impact on it.
Among the organic substances in black paint for tattoos there is benzopyrene, a strong carcinogen that in animal tests provoked cancer.
Therefore, the information that the paint is certified and passed the required testing does not correspond to reality.
And worse, it is very difficult to predict a person's reaction to a tattoo.
An allergic reaction may appear a few months or even years after application.
A logical question arises.
If this does harm to people, why do the supervisory services remain silent?
And they do not remain silent.
These are people who are engaged in advertising and trends, and they themselves do not want to learn anything.
I will quote only two resolutions from the EU, but there are similar ones in other countries.
As of 2023, a new regulation has come into force, prohibiting or restricting the use of about 4,000 chemicals used in the production of paints for tattoos and permanent makeup in the EU.
According to experts, most of these substances are not well studied and can be harmful to health.
In this year, the list has expanded.
Sales and use, among other such pigments, such as Green 7 and Blue 15, will be prohibited in the EU.
Experts believe that they contain carcinogenic substances that can cause the body to develop malignant tumors, high-quality rejuvenation, as well as severe allergic reactions.
This decision was made in accordance with the EU regulations on chemical substances Rich.
But the fact is that the above-mentioned color pigments are contained in two-thirds of all colors for tattoos and there is no alternative to them at the moment.
In the United States, in 2005, there was a trial for the request of the American Institute of Environmental Safety against eight companies that produce ink for tattoos.
As a result of this process, the following was found out.
Ink in a tattoo measuring 7 by 12 centimeters contains from 1 to 23 micrograms of lead, compared to the standard 0.5 micrograms per day provided by the 65 regulation.
As a result, as a result of this trial, since 2007, the main ink manufacturers have been obliged to apply warning labels on their products,
which said that certain inks contain a lot of heavy metals, in particular lead, arsenic and others, and that some of their ingredients are associated with cancer and inherited defects.
There were many such laws and trials, but the conclusion is already obvious.
The harm of paints for tattoos and permanent makeup is proven.
But sadly, people do not know about these claims and regulations.
Most are not interested in the inscriptions on the packaging that this can cause cancer or mutations in descendants.
People trust fashion more, their wishes or the opinion of the tattoo artist, which is in the salon around the corner.
There they will say that they have the safest paint and that there is nothing to worry about.
In general, having studied a lot of materials, I came to the conclusion that it is safest to stay away from tattoos on the body, eyebrows or lips.
Keep yourself.
