You can see individual lime trees standing on the hills. The planting of lime trees has a long tradition. Today it is often planted for the birth of a child and dances are still held around the village lime tree, the "dance tree", in many areas.

In ancient times, the village lime tree was not only a meeting place for lovers in the evening, but also for the court when it was in session. The lime tree is the subject of many ancient legends, some of which go back a long way and are still handed down as myths. There is also mention of a pre-Christian Germanic mystical tradition in which the lime tree was a symbol of married love, kindness, hospitality and modesty.

In the language of flowers I found two examples: The lime blossom means: Do you understand me? And the lime branch: Are you going to leave me without hope?

So I hope that if you ever get a message in the language of flowers with a lime tree, you will get a lime tree blossom and not the branch.
