The churches of Rome can be filled with art treasures. And the Santa Maria Del Popolo has more than its fair share. It contains a sweet little chapel called the Cerasi Chapel that was designed and decorated by the most fashionable artists in Rome at the time. Carlo Maderno, the architect that built the facade of Saint Peter's Basilica, Annibale Carracci and of course Caravaggio. It is a lovely chapel but mostly known for its three brilliant paintings. In this video I tell you the whole story of the chapel and the people who made it great.
