So his dream, Steve, could very well become a reality,
but how much pressure is on Newcastle, do you think?
Well, there's pressure, but you'd prefer that
rather than actually playing from now to the end of the season
with just nothing to play for.
You know, they've worked ever so hard this season,
done ever so well this season to get to this point.
I mean, it would be heartbreak for them, really,
if they didn't get into the Champions League spot,
but it's in their hands.
We know it is going to be a difficult game against Brighton.
We've seen how Brighton played against Arsenal.
But having said that, we've seen Brighton,
how they played against Everton.
So, you know, it is one of them occasions
where it'll be absolutely jam-packed at St James's,
you know, with the flags and the scarves
and stuff like that, and the atmosphere
will be absolutely superb.
But as a player, you want to play in these games,
and because the rewards are absolutely fantastic.
Do you think, though, they will have a real boost
off the back of that big win at Arsenal
after there was that terrible defeat to Everton?
It wasn't expected, but they'll be sort of high
on the momentum and the confidence
from that more than anything.
Yeah, I mean, they've got good players,
and we've seen that this season.
We've seen some of the performances this season
have been absolutely outstanding.
I mean, yes, they've had some,
maybe not so good performances,
but it just goes to show what they're capable of.
Anyhow, the manager and the players
will be well aware of that,
because, as I said, there will be a threat,
and it can 100% cause you problems.
But if Newcastle do the job that
they've pretty much done all this season,
then you would probably think that
they would get the three points,
but definitely a difficult game.
Right.
Brighton and Leicester at home,
followed by Chelsea away to finish the season.
What do you think they need?
It's such a difficult one to call,
because Leicester fighting for their lives,
of course, in the Premier League,
and then, of course, Chelsea.
You never know what to expect from Chelsea.
You don't.
No, I mean, obviously, last game out for Newcastle were at Leeds,
of course, under Sam, and they managed to get a point there.
But, yeah, tough games.
Tough games.
You would have thought two wins,
but that would be two really good wins.
You would have thought, do Liverpool,
on the run that they've had, seven games on the bounce,
they would be favourites as such for their last two games,
but having said that, they've got Aston Villa,
who are in decent form themselves,
and since Unai Emery has gone into there, he's turned it around.
But tonight, if they can get three points tonight,
that's a big, big statement, and that helps them massively,
because if they don't get anything tonight or a draw,
then the pressure's on,
because, obviously, then they start looking at Liverpool.
We've seen what it's done to the city, to the fans,
to the atmosphere at St James' since the takeover,
enjoying the success in the Premier League.
What would Champions League football mean to the city?
Wow. I mean, I was lucky enough to be at the club
when we had Champions League there, the night, the atmosphere.
It's getting to that point where it is now at Newcastle,
it's absolutely fantastic, but for the city, for the fans,
for the people in general, it's just absolutely amazing.
The whole place is abuzz.
I didn't think they'd get a Champions League spot,
I have to be honest, I thought, you know, top ten,
maybe the eighth would be a great season,
but what they've done is absolutely fantastic.
But if they can finish it off and get Champions League football
next season, wow, I think that is a top, top achievement.
