Chelsea U21 4-1 Aston Villa U21 | HIGHLIGHTS | PL2 2024/25

So it's Aston Villa kicking toward the Matthew Harding stand who get us underway in the ultimate game of the first part of the season for Chelsea and PL2 before the playoff start. Looking to continue their recent momentum as they go into the end of season shake-up. Villa will not be involved in that, they are second bottom of the 2016 league coming into this, a poor season for them. The big night for some of these Chelsea boys who are playing at Stamford Bridge for the first time. Here's Genesis Ampwy, he can stretch his legs and he is rapid and he's got support as well here. It's Ampwy's cut back just behind Mayuka, it's come for Ishe Samuels-Smith who strokes Chelsea into the league 40 seconds into the game. Well how can Villa respond? Perfect start for Chelsea, here they come with Kocsa, just about able to get hold of that. Hughes, Ampwy off and running again and that spells danger for Aston Villa. This is into a good area, clearance has come straight to Mayuka and he's smacked it in for 2-0. We've not even played for 10 minutes yet and Chelsea are rampant. Shin Mayuka's first goal at Stamford Bridge, McNeely, Ampwy, packed penalty area, he came back to Murray Campbell, there's McNeely, oh it's a good save from Procter. Tires ball into the space asking Brodie Hughes to chase, he's got there as well in first time to Mayuka, another good save from Procter, keeping it respectable. Diak on the charge, McNeely, score or pass, either way he was close. With the outswinger Harrison Murray Campbell, Procter able to grab it, so comfortable for Chelsea so far. Another third goal, Hughes, Ampwy looking to provide it. Ronnie Stutter on the volley and again Procter makes a good save, Raksaki on the follow-up and away. It is Landon Emanalo who floats it in and it's McNeely who volleys it in. Beautiful finish from Donel McNeely, up to 11 goals for the season in PL2 and Chelsea do have the third. Diak, spot passes with Raksaki, maybe space for a shot here for Keanu Dier, deflected up into the air and there's Hughes to nod in, number four. Two goals in quick succession in the second half for Chelsea here and Brodie Hughes adds his name to the list of scorers. Brannigan, well this is going to break here for a consolation goal for Rory Wilson. Villa are on the board on 87 minutes. Ampwy, got lots of options here, he might go alone as Nwata on the spin, oh good save again from Procter.
