Winter Trends 2017: 3 Winter Outfits | Style | Hello October

Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel. So today I have a three winter trends and three winter outfits video for you. This is kind of a little update and rejig on the ways to update your look for autumn that I did a few months back. I will link that below if you wanna go and watch it. So today I'm going to be talking you through three of my favorite winter trends and how to style them. This is gonna be a very quick video because I have a muscle spasm in the side of my head and I'm like, can you not? I'm trying to film. So my number one favorite trend for this winter has to be over the knee boots. And these come in every autumn and winter, but I feel like this is definitely the year for them this year. And this is the year that I fully embraced them. I found a pair that I love and I'm super happy with these. I really struggled to find a good affordable pair in previous years, but I love these. These are from ASOS. I will link them in the info box. I love them so much. And they have these little toggles at the top. And that basically means I can make it tight to the top of my leg and they don't fall down when I'm walking around, which is perfect. And I just love these. They're a suede material, which isn't the most practical, but I do think that it looks the nicest and it's the most comfortable. And although some of the more traditional ways to wear knee high boots is with either dresses or jeans, which I really love, my favorite way to wear them this winter has been with really long, snuggly high neck jumpers. This one's actually got chocolate on it. So let's just ignore that. This jumper is from Topshop. And when I bought it, I knew it was gonna be the perfect length for me to wear with knee high boots. And it's so soft and snuggly. I would highly recommend picking this up, even if you're not gonna wear it with knee high boots. So I wear this with a skirt underneath just for extra security and a really lovely long jacket over the top and then the knee high boots. And it is so lovely and it's actually not cold at all. And the jacket I wore with this outfit is this military jacket from Zara, which I actually had a really hard time styling at first. You can't really do too many high neck blouses, which is something that is a really big staple in my wardrobe. It looks a bit too Pirates of the Caribbean and I can't deal with that. But actually with a really lovely knitted jumper and knee high boots, this looks really gorgeous. And it's just a really beautiful length as well. It's quite long, but it nips in at the waist, which is gorgeous. And I love the gold detailing on it. It's not too much. It's just like the perfect amount of detailing. So another favourite winter trend of mine is actually gilets. And again, these are a trend that come back around every single year, but in a different way. And this is one that I really love because it kind of combines aviator jackets and gilets together. So this is very similar to the Topshop ones and the Reese ones that you will have seen a tonne of, but it is in gilet form. It's very, very similar to, I think there's a Burberry gilet. And I love it because it was a fraction of the cost. I think this was around 60 pounds and the Burberry one is 900 and they are very, very similar. And this keeps me so warm. It's actually one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe right now. And my favourite way to style it is just a super simple all black outfit, which I feel like I haven't done on YouTube in ages. So I just styled this with an ASOS long sleeve throw neck and some Topshop Joni jeans, which are just like all black. And then my Topshop boots, which you guys might remember from last winter. These are the Topshop sock boots. These are actually one of the best purchases that I made last year. They aren't super, super comfortable, but they really do go with everything. So on a day when I'm not walking miles and miles, I will wear these and I feel so good in them because they make your legs look really super long and slim and they just literally make me feel great. They're also another trend from last winter that has come back around this year, just pairing all the trends together. The final trend I'm loving is actually one that started to come around just after autumn. It was just shortly after I filmed my last style video. But the trend is dresses or tops over shirts. And it's something that I have absolutely loved recently. And whether that's cami dresses over t-shirts or jumpsuits over blouses, it's something that I've seen a lot recently and I've really been liking it. And this is an outfit that I actually put together as part of a Topshop haul, which you might have seen. I'll link to that in the info box as well in case you missed it. So this is just a high neck sleeveless dress from Topshop. And I paired it with a blouse that is from Topshop I actually got, I think a couple of years ago. Because this one has just a high neck collar and no kind of shirt collar, it works really nicely with the high neck of this dress and the two pair really well together. And that's a really nice easy trend that actually takes very minimal effort but that looks really, really cool. And you can basically pair it with anything. I actually styled it with this super long duster coat from Topshop. It's in a khaki green and it's super, super long on me. It's like almost down to my ankles. And because the dress is more of a mini dress, it was just nice to play with different proportions. So I went for a super, super long coat with this one. I also used a statement belt to cinch the dress in at the waist. Just because when you have a baggy shirt and a dress over the top, things can sometimes get a little bit shapeless. So the belt just helps to cinch everything in nicely. And then I added my over knee boots, which I just thought worked really well whilst I was playing with proportions. So the shorter dress, longer coat, and then I could cover up the majority of my leg and still be really warm. And I just loved the look that it gave. Even without the coat, I really liked the mix of a mini dress and the knee high boots. And I just loved the whole outfit. It's one of my favourites that I've put together recently. And the thing I really like about the dresses over shirts trend is that a lot of people might already own a shirt or a dress that is sleeveless. So it's definitely one of those trends that you might already be able to wear without having to go and purchase anything new. So it doesn't really take a ton of money to keep up with the trends this winter. They are kind of repeating themselves from previous years. So that is my final outfit.
