Rep. Ed Orcutt, R-Kalama, delivers a floor speech in support of adult family homes and House Bill 1265. The legislation would modify the property tax exemption for property owned by a nonprofit used as an adult family home for the developmentally disabled to ensure the exemption may be claimed whether the services are provided by a nonprofit or another licensed provider. The measure passed on a 95-0 vote on March 6, 2023.
