Joannes Patzelt (? - 1748)
German composer. Almost nothing is known about Patzelt's life. It is known that from May 1734 to July 1736 he was employed, together with Johann Novotný, as organist for the Esterházy orchestra in Eisenstadt. In 1739 he married in this city and the director of the Esterházy orchestra, Gregor Werner, predecessor of Franz Joseph Haydn in that position, was his wedding witness. From 1740 until his death he worked as a teacher, composer, singer and custodian of the Cathedral of St. Michael in Soprón. #ClassicalMusic
