There's a few six foot four, six foot five guys in it.
Smash it low maybe, it is Drogba. Yes! Oh and it's superb! That's more like it.
He missed a sitter inside the first minute. He's brought Chelsea level now with a beautiful free
kick. Well I wasn't sure about the free kick in the first place being given but Alan Wiley had
a good position and they're actually remonstrating with it at the moment but that's a great finish.
Dipped over. I said it was a big wall and if you look at that, that's the even better quality
from Didier to get it over and under. The goal, the dive at the goalkeeper and Carlo
much relieved as are the fans at Stamford Bridge. Deco again. Drogba onside. Can he pick someone out?
Yes! Unbelievable goal from Drogba. Who cares if he meant it from the byline in injury time
and Chelsea have pinched all three points. Well you just cannot believe. We deserved it Ben but
I could never see it coming but you only have to ask Didier there did he mean it or not. I think
he's aiming this to the far post but whatever happens I think the points are ours now. Old
City players are holding their head in disbelief of what's going on here. He just thinks it's, I
think he's just thinking it to the far post but whatever happens it's a great dink and one we're
very grateful for. Over Bozma, he'll no chance. Unbelievable. Surely he's going for Kalou there
but like you say who cares. Then the spirit might be willing but the flesh is weak. Here come Chelsea
again. There's no flag and they have broken through. Really good finish by Didier Drogba.
Fulham wanted an offside flag that never came and just before the break as the flag stays down
the Blues are in front of the Derby.
The appeal from Mikel, look at the referee Mike Dean straight away. Is Chelsea on the attack?
Didier Drogba and it's 1-1 right on the stroke of halftime. Carved open by Frank Lampard
and Didier Drogba scores his fourth goal of the season. The Britannia Stadium silenced on the
stroke of halftime. Wonderful pass and wonderful turn and finish too from Drogba on his left foot.
Drogba, what about that for a ball and a first touch. Look at the power of the man. Oh he's
going to walk it in. Oh he's going to walk it in. That really is game over. I've got to tell you
the quality of this ball. I watched his run. The run first of all was magnificent but Ashley Cole's
ball was second to none. Even the best centre-halves in the world might have got done by this ball.
Because Ashley Cole pings this 60 yards. Watch his run here. I call Lucas Giltia maybe starting
half a yard too late. His first touch was fantastic. Used his strength. Great finish and that really
really is the seal on what has been a good second half performance.
And a goal this afternoon for Lampard. We've seen him go clear of Jimmy Greaves, number five in Chelsea's all-time goal scorers.
But a cross comes in and it's scrambled over the line by Didier Drogba.
And that's a century of goals for the Chelsea striker on his 219th appearance. Congratulations
Didier Drogba and he's got Chelsea back on level terms. It's fair to say that Villa have made the
better start. Lampard, Drogba. Lovely turn and a reasonable effort and Friedel has helped it in.
Out of absolutely nothing. A goalkeeping catastrophe for Friedel but Chelsea will take it
and they lead 1-0.
It's got a similar exhibition feel to the Burnley game.
And Ballack even enjoying a joke with some of the fans down there. There's another one!
Drogba's header from Ballack's corner and it's five and we've still got half an hour left.
This could end in double figures.
Well it was a great ball in. I have to say our set pieces haven't been great but this is a quality ball in.
I think it's Michael Ballack who hits it to the near stick. Didier just gets in front of his defender.
The great ball in and Didier just gets in front of him here. Robertson comes out.
No chance of it. Great finish. As I said Ben, this could get real naughty.
We wait to see how much stoppage time the fourth official will indicate.
At the time at the end of the first half it was pretty good to Chelsea.
Is there a fourth to be had in second half stoppage time?
Oh wonderful work. Drogba slots it in.
Flicked from Lampard. Drogba finds the corner first.
He didn't look too confident but that is perhaps the most sumptuous assist you're likely to see
this season from Frank Lampard. Didn't even touch the ground. Off the chest of Deco.
Off the heel of Frank Lampard. Didier Drogba gets his goal.
Oh great ball. Ashley Cole. Drogba! Yes!
Magnificent Chelsea goal. Didier Drogba's done it to Arsenal again.
It's nine in his last nine against the Gunners. A devastating finish and Chelsea lead.
Steers it into the underside of the bar. What a great way to open your account and
I can't honestly say we've deserved it Gary but 41 minutes in I think we'll accept it.
Both scored so many goals in this sort of position for Chelsea.
I saw some Arsenal fans making for the exits just now.
There'll be a whole load more heading out if this goes in the top corner.
Drogba! Oh what a goal. Phenomenal. He's done it to the Gunners again.
It flew into the net like a missile. Arsenal nil. Chelsea three.
And doesn't that look pretty that scoreline but what a goal.
That is the icing on what is a very lovely cake and that is as good a finish as you'll see.
If he was a Brazilian they'd be waxing lyrical for weeks. Quality free kick. Got it over the wall
and bent it in an area which the keeper couldn't save and that is game over.
They will be acting for the exits now. Carvalho. He's done well.
Well done Ricky Carvalho. On to Lampard. This is Drogba and that's a wonderful Chelsea goal.
What a lovely movement that is. We didn't need any width there but that's a move of the highest
quality. Give credit to Ricky Carvalho. He wins the ball on the halfway line. Fantastic endeavour.
Breaks forward. He eventually goes to Frank Lampard who just sees Didier Drogba.
Lays a great ball into him but what a finish with his left foot.
Ivanovic. Good touch. Wonderful touch. On to Lampard. Great skills from Frank Lampard as well.
Trying to get himself a shooting opportunity. Still bodies forward. Ivanovic.
Didier Drogba's second of the game. Well it didn't seem to be too much in the way of
a threat for Everton but when you've got Didier Drogba in the side he's a threat for anyone.
His second of the match and now his 18th goal of the season.
Great awareness and great concentration from Didier Drogba. He must have expected the centre
half to hit that. He didn't. Kept his concentration. Steered it into the net.
3-2. We've been camping in there half to be fair but 3-2. Exactly what we needed.
See what Sturridge can do here. Bairds with the interception. This is Zhirkov and now Cole
and now Ivanovic. Three inside the penalty area. Far post to Sturridge and he's Drogba.
1-1. Didier Drogba levels things up. The cross from Ivanovic and Didier Drogba firing past
Schwarzer. A bullet header and we're all square at Stamford Bridge. He knows exactly what he's
doing Ivanovic. Picks out Didier. He's still got an awful lot to do and drills it past Schwarzer.
Stephen Hunt just being spoken to by Klattenberg. It is going to be Drogba and he sneaks it in the
far side. Wonderful free kick from Didier Drogba. He tells the Chelsea fans I'm back
and he's back with the goal. It was a perfectly placed free kick from Didier Drogba
and Hull have got it all to do again taking the lead but Chelsea are back on level terms just
before halftime. Malouda over this dead ball this time. Left footed in it comes. Terry's header
and it's in. Didier Drogba what a start. An assist from the skipper and it's in from the top scorer
and in no time at all Chelsea lead Arsenal at the bridge. What a way to open the account today.
Two at the Emirates already this season and another one today. Could get better now with
Lampard and he's got options Frank Lampard. Drogba on side and Elka in the middle. Drogba
might not need him. It's still Drogba. Oh superb. Absolutely superb. It's a dirty dozen goals for
Didier Drogba against Arsenal and how about that for a way to release the pressure.
Doesn't just, doesn't football amaze you Ben? Great little weighted ball. Here I think he's
going to drill it across the goal. It cuts in field and look at that for a finish. Absolutely
top draw Didier Drogba. Arsenal's nemesis strikes again. That's square. Tcherkov further square.
Again look at all those golden shirts trotting back though. Tcherkov looks for
Balak. This is good from Chelsea. Wonderful strike there from Chelsea. Great patience,
great interplay in and around the penalty area and who else to finish it off but Didier Drogba.
And for the first time we managed to get him behind walls. They didn't have as many men back.
Wonderful little ball from Tcherkov. Beautifully weighted for Balak and Didier Drogba arrives on
cue at the far post to give us a one goal lead. If you need to switch on and get back on top
Chelsea without any shadow of a doubt. Long it goes up towards Didier Drogba. Chances for Chelsea.
Chance for a second and it is a second. Well we say that they might have switched off. We say the
Wolves might have had their best spell of the game. All that matters, not a jot. Two for Chelsea
and two for Didier Drogba. Well if there's one man on the pitch who wanted to fall so
it's going to be him. The man that's on form, in scintillated form, full of his life. Didier Drogba
gets his second and Chelsea's second and gives us that little bit of daylight now that
really Wolves will feel as though they were the ones that are doing the most pressing second half.
Nido's got nothing out of Terry today and here comes the Chelsea captain again.
The catalyst for an attack and still going and Drogba and now Malouda and Balak at the far
post and Drogba with a tap-in. Fantastic goal scored by Drogba, made by John Terry.
This man deserves a lot of the credit. He drove at that defence, played the ball into Didier,
great ball out, went for the return and what a ball this is. Just inviting him to touch it
into the back of the net. Made by John Terry and Florian Malouda, tucked away by Didier Drogba.
And all this space suddenly for Frank Lampard and it's opened up well. Frank Lampard,
good strike, Robert Green and Drogba's there for four. Well lads I'm gutted for him so I know what
it would have meant for him to launch it into the back of their net today but Didier Drogba do all
good strikers do, sniff and they sniff in the six yard box. It's a simple tap-in but it's not if
you're not alert. Great strike from Frank Lampard, no way is he offside because he comes from behind
the defender. Drogba, simple tap-in, again something he deserved. Florian Malouda been
outstanding but so has this man Didier Drogba, led the line fantastically well. Chelsea won't
like the ease with which the full-back put down the right there. They're trying to do likewise
here with Niklas and Elke. Kalou and Drogba inside him and they may not need them. Didier Drogba,
Chelsea in front, he almost passed that into the net. Precision finish from Drogba, it's only taken
what five minutes or so. I'll tell you what that is a really good finish from Didier Drogba because
he's off balance, the ball's bobbling a little bit and with his left foot he has to outstretch it,
he just guides it, directs it past Jason Brown giving him no chance whatsoever.
Now Rocha with a miscue and this could be a chance for Drogba, oh David James what a howler,
oh what a howler. Didier Drogba is not complaining, he's not going to miss from there and Chelsea lead.
Well I can't quite believe what I've seen, that is an absolute stinker and let me tell you now,
it doesn't matter what form Didier Drogba was in, he is not going to miss that, doesn't expect to get
anything from it, cannot believe his luck without being spectacular if we take the lead. Life's been
sucked out of the game really by those two quick fire Malouda goals. Here's Didier Drogba, oh yes
4-0 and once he got in that position was there ever any doubt he'd finish. Beautifully weighted
pass, now look at the use of the upper body, holds off the challenge, lashes it home down that right
hand side, great first touch, there's the upper body strength, there's the finish and this has
been emphatic. Salomon Kalou again, space to run into, that's an unselfish pass, this is Drogba
and that should be that. What an introduction from the bench, Didier Drogba may well have given
Chelsea the upper hand in the race for the title, he's only been on for five or ten minutes
and what a contribution. Well I tell you what, Didier didn't look up, he didn't take a chance,
he finished that, he littered that, now it's advantageous, don't give anything away.
Defensively we've not looked as sharp, Liverpool, a terrible back pass, Drogba, that will do nicely
it's always Didier Drogba against Liverpool, there are so many concerns now, the Reds,
the architects of their own demise, Didier Drogba has given Chelsea the lead and could it be
a couple of fingers of one hand on the Premier League trophy. His record is extraordinary
and he might be setting some more, looking for a hundred goals, one more would do it,
a little for four, here's Lampard, Ashley Cole, in towards Drogba, oh a believable effort and save,
he's in, Drogba again, turn up for Chelsea, Drogba's on top of the golden boot charts too
and it's Bedlam at the bridge, Chelsea five, Wigan nil. Well he wanted it so so badly,
great overhead kick I have to say that was saved and Frank Lampard, great reactions,
great chip back in and there he was thundering over the top of Figueroa and the defenders are
looking at Pollitt as if saying why didn't you save it, some lunatics on the pitch,
putting the caller flag in the middle, it's all going off here Ben. What an amazing effort it was
on the overhead and it's just a big climb there from Drogba, 34, one ahead of Wayne Rooney,
there's still 25 minutes to go, Drogba from the spot, it's the joy of six, in off the post,
Drogba's got another. He didn't leave a lot of room for Eredinie there, that's it the inside
of the post, they are unsaveable however, two inches the other way they miss so a great great
penalty from Didio. Pollitt couldn't keep him out with the header earlier even if he did from the
bicycle kick, he couldn't from 12 yards. The Blues don't settle for six in these situations these
days. Lovely ball from Cole to Belletti, now Joe Cole, can he get there? Oh he can, brilliant,
hat-trick for Drogba, it's seven again, four times this season, this is truly remarkable.
Today the campaign in general, three for Drogba, seven for Chelsea, it is truly magnificent.
Well these two guys are going to start up a band, I gave a gig, Didio was looking there,
he's playing the guitar and I think Florenzi's drummer but great bit of play down the right
hand side, Belletti involved, Joe Cole snipped in there, good save from Pollitt but again Drogba
sniffing at the far post that falls to him, good run from Joe here, good strike, deserving of a
goal in its own right but Didio was there sniffing in, what a great way to finish a great week for
him, hat-trick player of the year and golden boot.
