(Premier League 2022/2023): Highlights Leeds United - Brentford

Hello from Jim Prowfitt and Jim Beglin at Elland Road for Leeds United against Brentford in week 21 of the Premier League season. Peter Banks is the man in charge, two points off the bottom, a hair's breadth above the drop zone. The relegation battle intensifies with every game, as does Leeds' need for a revival. This feels like a big moment. Further on his home league debut for Leeds. Power but not the precision. Mark Rockett, Lonto, straight into Silva from close range. Cludingham-Bermo, Roslev with the ball in. And it falls for Jenson. It might have been close had Robin Cotton not just ducked into the line of fire. At the moment they've played a waiting game. Leeds get us underway at the beginning of the second half, big 45 minutes ahead. Now it's about something to show for it. It's Rodrigo! Side of goal so far. Yeah, this is a really good hit and a very, very good save from the keeper. And look at the way the keeper parried it as well. You know, he's managed to get it to his left. And there was a right scrap for it as well between Lonto and... Ball from me. Poking it back towards Henry, Rodrigo, and strongly, but it's... Throw, it might be a yellow card as well. He was gonna kick it, you know, and then he decided not to. And then, of course, instead of just dropping it... The right mistake, the break is on. Lonto making the run ahead of Rodrigo, creating space for him. Harrison in support as well. He's gone for Lonto. And Raya makes the save. We'll breathe a little easier because he made a bad mistake in misjudging the ball down the line to allow Rodrigo to take it this far. And I think it was a good strike. I mean, he knew that he had to be quick in what he delivered, Lonto. But Raya was agile and alert near post. Lonto denied what would have been his fault. He's barely had two worthwhile opportunities so far today. Tony in front. Driven Tony for his part in that. Harrison. And still. That was lacking in the first half. And he's been quite influential. And there's good power behind this as well. But, you know, unfortunately for him, he's... Bamford getting the return ball. Sinisterra. Did I mention Rost? All he had to do was keep back from getting stuck under his feet. And he couldn't. Former Arsenal player. England under 21 international. Just being reminded that he has to retreat ten yards. He got to about four when the yellow card was shown. The free kick has been given. The can-leads made the most of it. In from Greenwood. Then from Stroup. And Ryan will make the save. And that's that. Seven goals when the two sides last met.
