We hiked to the most well preserved village I've ever seen in the hills just outside of Yucaipa Ca. Part of the California State Park system, this small day hike has everything you could ask for on a beginner trail from wild life to bird watching, picturesque views and of course what we wanted to see,... this well intact and preserved village. Ok so maybe not exactly a village but what is left over from the residence that once called wildwood Canyon home. And of course no video is every complete with out a fly over from my DJI Mini SE.
The first recorded landowner was mountain man James Waters, who started a hog ranch on the current park property in the 1850s. The area was called “Hog Cañon”. Later settlers included rancher Louis Morris and the Brooks family, who staked mining claims in the area. The canyon sold to Vernon Hunt for development, who bought up area ranches and the former Wildwood Lodge in 1940 to build Hunt Ranch. Some remnants of Hunt Ranch which is shown in this video are still on the property.

Look at guys, real deers. Not something you guys see every day. Not even up where I live.
That's so cool. What's going on guys? Welcome back to 909 Adventures. I'm at a little spot that I've
been wanting to check out for a while. Got a couple bandos right here off of a trail.
But real quick guys, I'm out with the light bulb guys. You guys want to introduce yourselves?
I'm Kyle. I'm Lorenzo. I'm one of the light bulb guys.
So yeah, go check them out. They got a... You guys just starting out, right?
I don't know, yeah. We've been doing it for like a couple years.
Okay, cool. So go check them out. I'll leave links down in the description.
And let's get this video started. All right guys, you guys know I don't do very much hiking.
This little trail, I mean it's relatively flat, but there's a couple steep parts,
especially in the beginning. It was cold. The sun wasn't up. It was really kicking my butt.
They had a little pond here.
Very cool. This kind of reminds me of like a little village,
something you would see like in a movie. Yeah, it does. You're right. Look, they had a basement.
Of course, it's not accessible. Look at the doors open right here in the basement.
It is a little creepy to be honest.
I see an old bathtub, an old cast iron bathtub right there. You guys see that?
I'm gonna check this out real quick. Oh, look at a bunch of like flyers or something.
Like a little work shed. Dang. Is that Kermit the Frog? It sure looks like it. What is this?
I don't know. Oh, like shelf door. I bet this was the door that was on there.
That looks like it's been kicked off. An old water heater.
You see a date on them?
Somewhere in the front or back cover. Nothing, huh? Dang. Of course, it's
filled in. I wouldn't walk through there anyways. You can see all those spiderwebs.
Dude, this is creepy. This is really creepy to be honest. I can go in there if you want.
No, you don't have to. There is nowhere to go anyways. Oh, never mind. I went back
the other way. You know they send me in for stuff like that. Yeah. They give me the camera.
All for the shot. Yeah, this is really cool.
This one looks like they're rebuilding. It could be.
Let's check out this little tub. They're not even that small these days.
Yeah, I know. You get up close and personal with yourself.
Yeah, this is straight up a barn, huh?
Yeah, I don't know. Maybe they ran out of money. Yeah, look. That'd be cool to get up there.
Probably not going to happen, but yeah, old horse stable. You guys see that? Let me get out of here.
See, old horse stable. A couple of them. Look, there's another tub. Old sink.
Got it? Yep.
How do you work this? This is cool. It's pretty creepy up here though. Yeah, I'm really intrigued
about checking this out. There's supposed to be a truck up here somewhere. We'll check this
little thing out first. Oh, this is like a little workshop. Look, a little old heater.
Oh, it looks like a fire trap to me. Yeah, it's an old heater.
Yeah. Looks like there's chemicals in that room. Old workshop.
Hey, we should take a screw for the box. Oh, yeah. It looks like it was a kitchen
chicken coop at one point too. Yeah, it could have been. Oh, yeah.
Yeah, like an old trailer. Yeah, that's a bunch of old farm equipment, man. Maybe the next one up.
Yeah. Wow, the fields. Yeah.
There's an owl.
How did we miss that? It was standing on that. It was standing right there.
Yeah, I think so. That's probably a nest they set up for it.
Yeah, I think. I mean, come on. I think they would throw their seeds in there.
That's how they would plant everything. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
It's a little water tank. Yeah, that thing's almost empty. Yeah, look at that.
Really? Yeah. Let me see. It's a uh. Oh, look at the spark plug.
Yeah, there's no such thing as power steering in those days. It's a cool truck though. Bullet hole
in there. It's more like a shotgun though. Yeah, you see the spread? Yeah.
It's probably rusted shut or you need like pliers or something.
Yeah, guys, so probably an old Ford truck. Let's see. They were saying uh in line six.
Yeah, you see that? I don't know if you guys can see that with the sun. There you go. Old in line six.
Very cool though. And the gas gauge is still there. Yeah, something else.
Hey, cool. Brakes are shot.
We got sidetracked. That's fine.
Yeah, a little staple or something. Nah, this is. This one's a goner. Yeah,
it's probably old lead paint and everything. Lead paint, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
20 gallon gas tank right next to the exhaust. It looks real safe.
It looks like an arm like ruby or something.
It's like the woodpeckers have had a good time with that piece of wood right there.
Yeah. What is this? It's like a top of a power line. All right, so the owl is back in the uh
that crate. I guess the the park service must have put that box there for her for a nest.
You guys see right there in the center. That's crazy. This is my second owl encounter on a
Explorer. All right, guys. I hope you guys enjoyed this Explorer with the light bulb guys. Real quick
guys, you guys want to talk about your channel? Let us know what it's about. Yeah, we kind of do
the same thing. We just explore abandoned places, haunted places. We also have a podcast. It's
called Light at Night. It's pretty good. We talk about serial killers. We talk about monsters,
mythical monsters, ghosts, demons, all that stuff. All right, guys. So check them out. The light bulb
guys. Links are down in the description. And if you guys subscribe to them, let them know that
I sent you guys. And thanks for watching. All right, so on the way out of here, guys. Welcome
back. Check out these holes in the side of this house here. It's all woodpeckers. All those holes
are from woodpeckers. At first, I thought it was bullet holes. But as I look closer,
like that's not bullet holes. These are woodpeckers. These holes are everywhere,
all over everything out here. Can you imagine living out here and getting woken up by a
woodpecker? Constantly thinking somebody's at your door.
