All right, happy opening day to everyone.
Been pumped up for this day for a long time.
Excited to watch some good baseball today.
I actually have a game,
so I won't be able to watch every game live that I want,
but I will be recording and watching when I get home.
What I wanna do today is go over the projections
that Major League Baseball just put out.
I'd like your opinion in the comment section below.
Let me know who's ranked too high,
who's ranked too low, and who is just right.
We're gonna go one by one.
We'll start with the American League,
and then we'll go to the National League.
I'll give my opinions, and again,
give yours in the comment section below.
So let's start off right now with the American League,
and we're gonna start off in the American League East.
So the first thing that you're gonna notice is
they've got four teams going 88 and 74.
I don't know if I've,
not sure I've seen that one happen before.
Has there ever been a four-way tie for first place?
I don't believe so.
Maybe there is, if someone can let me know.
Let me know.
But I don't think that's going to happen, okay?
I'm just gonna go take a wild guess there
and say that's not gonna happen.
But, so they've got the Blue Jays finishing,
well, actually, they don't really.
They have the Blue Jays, the Yankees,
the Red Sox, and the Rays all finishing in first place.
And then they've got the Orioles in fifth.
Now, they're right on with the Orioles.
The Orioles are gonna come in last this year.
As far as who's gonna come in first,
I don't think it's gonna be a four-way tie.
I'm leaning between the Blue Jays and the Yankees, honestly.
Man, it's tough.
I find myself always going with the Yankees lately,
even though the Rays continually do well every single year.
Oh, I don't know what I wanna do.
You know what, I'm gonna go with the Blue Jays.
I'm gonna say, no, I'm not gonna go with the Blue Jays.
Nope, take that back.
Even though I love their offense,
their defense in the outfield isn't great.
You know, they lost Robbie Ray.
I should've thought of this before I pressed play.
I'm gonna go with the Yankees again.
I do this every year.
I'm a Red Sox fan growing up,
but for some reason I keep picking the Yankees.
So we'll go with the Yankees.
We're gonna say that they'll come in first place.
They're gonna battle it with the Blue Jays.
I'm sure the Rays will figure out a way to get there,
as they always do.
And then the Red Sox will be in the mix somewhere.
It's a great division, right?
But let's go Yankees first,
and we'll go with the Orioles last.
All right, let's move over now to the Central.
The Central, they've got the White Sox at 88 and 74.
Whoever did this, those are their lucky numbers, apparently.
Then they've got the Twins, the Guardians,
the Tigers, and the Royals here.
So I think the White Sox,
I am gonna say that the White Sox
are gonna win the division.
I think that they're a very, very solid team.
I think they have a chance to win a World Series.
They were actually my pick last year
to go to the World Series out of the American League.
And this year, they very well may be,
again, I think they're super talented.
So I would have them up there at number one.
Now, as far as number two goes,
man, the Twins, Guardians, Tigers, I'll say this.
I'm probably gonna push the Guardians down a little.
I might even push the Tigers up.
I think that the Tigers are trending in the right direction.
I don't think they're ready to contend
for the division just yet,
but I think that they are making steps in that direction.
So we'll push them up.
But I'll go with the White Sox first,
and then we can go with the Twins.
Buxton and Correa are gonna have to have both big years
for them to carry them offensively and defensively.
So that's fine.
The Royals, I mean, the Royals, again,
they may finish maybe a little bit better than 70 and 92,
but I don't think that they're gonna be
in the running for the division.
Let's move over now to the West.
They've got the Astros at 90 and 72,
followed by the Mariners, the Angels,
the Rangers, and the A's.
I think the A's, no doubt, are gonna be at the bottom.
Their payroll right now is like, it's like ridiculous.
I think I read it's like $32 million
or something like that,
which is incredible.
Rangers, they go out and they add, you know,
two very, very, very good middle infielders.
Do they have enough pitching?
Probably not.
The Angels, the Angels have a ton of talent.
Can they stay healthy?
Will be the question,
especially offensively with their position players.
If they do, they'll do well.
If they don't, then they probably won't.
The Mariners, solid team, young outfield,
stud young outfield.
They get Robbie Ray.
So this will be an interesting division.
The Astros just always seem to find a way.
They're just really, really good, right?
They lose Carlos Correa,
and now they fill in with their top prospect
that's shortstop.
So we'll see how good he is.
If he's not, if he's not the answer,
there could be an issue there with Houston.
But I'll probably still keep them at winning the division
because they just seem to do so every single year.
Let's go over to the National League now.
So in the National League, we'll start with the East.
They've got the Braves at 90 and 72,
followed by the Mets and the Phillies,
the Marlins and the Nationals.
The Braves are loaded.
They're gonna be, I mean, obviously,
defending World Series champs.
They bring over Matt Olsen to take over for Freddie Freeman.
So I've got the Braves at the top.
The Mets, they're already having issues
with their starting pitching.
They already have DeGrom, who's gonna be out for a while.
It's a huge loss.
Max Scherzer now, a little banged up.
And so, man, oh man, like they'll be in trouble.
Going into this year, I mean, they made huge additions,
but if they don't have those two guys
at the top of the rotation,
that really changes their entire outlook.
So, you know, I think the Braves
probably win the division by more than,
right here, it has them going 90 and 72
and only winning by two games.
I think they probably can win it by more than that.
The Phillies, the Phillies have made
some pretty good additions.
I think, you know, with Schwarber and Castellanos,
they have a lot of offensive firepower.
They've got Harper there, obviously.
So I don't think the Phillies will overtake the Braves,
but I think that they'll be solid.
The Marlins, Marlins, really young pitching staff,
but really, really talented.
They've done a really good job there.
And then the Nationals, I think the Nationals
are probably, unfortunately,
not gonna have a super strong year this year.
Let's go to the Central.
They've got the Cardinals going 88 and 74 again.
So the lucky number of 88 and 74.
They've got the Brewers in second,
followed by the Cubs, the Reds, and the Pirates.
All right, I'm actually gonna,
I think I'm gonna go with the Brewers winning the Central.
I love the Brewers pitching staff.
I mean, they're just nasty.
And I'm not saying the Cardinals are not good.
The Cardinals are a solid team as well.
I think they probably do battle it out,
but I'm gonna go with the Brewers just over the Cardinals.
We'll put the Cardinals in second place.
And then we'll go Cubs, Reds, and Pirates in that order.
And now when we go over to the West.
In the West, they've got the Dodgers at 93 and 69.
Then they got the Padres at 89 and 73,
followed by the Giants, the D-backs, and the Rockies.
So the first thing is the Dodgers,
I think 93 wins is too low.
Like I see them winning over 100 games.
Obviously crazy things can happen,
but that offense is gonna be historic.
Like that is one of the best offenses I've ever seen.
They have the pitching, they have everything that they need.
They're not afraid to go out and add more.
Throughout the year, I'm gonna put them at over 100 wins
in winning the division.
I'm actually gonna put the Giants above the Padres.
Losing Fernando Tatis Jr. is gonna really hurt.
The Giants, I know some people think like,
oh, last year was a one-year wonder.
You know, there are a few concerns with the Giants,
but they seem to, and again, I know it's only been one year,
but I don't know, I have this faith in the Giants
that they're just a really smart organization.
They'll figure out a way, no matter what happens to them,
to be able to continue to win games
and continue to produce players that perform on the field.
And so I think I'm gonna bump the Giants up,
bring the Padres down one,
and then we can go with the Diamondbacks and the Rockies.
I think both of them are not gonna be that great this year.
So those are my projections.
Nothing too, I think that the total wins here
is kind of weird.
It has everyone kind of lumped together so much,
especially with that 88 and 74 record,
which is a little bit strange.
So obviously I don't see that happening.
I think they're low on a couple win projections.
You know, I think the Braves can win more games.
The Dodgers are gonna win more than 93 in my estimation,
and so are some other teams on here.
But those are my projections for the season.
Let me know what you think.
Who do you think is gonna win the World Series?
The easy pick is the Dodgers.
I think they're the most talented.
I have to go with the Dodgers, I guess.
And then when you look at the American League,
last year I said I went with the White Sox.
I might stick, I literally went Dodgers-White Sox last year.
I don't wanna go Dodgers-White Sox again this year.
But just looking at this,
I think I might go Dodgers and White Sox again.
The ALAs is super strong.
They're gonna beat up on each other,
but there's a lot of talent there.
So yeah, I'm gonna go with the easy pick, Dodgers.
I know some people, a lot of people will say,
oh, that's just taking the easy way out.
I just think that they're that talented.
I mean, they're unbelievable.
And so that's who I'm gonna go with.
