What could you do my little mouse? You are so very small,
I’m a lion, king of beasts, and bravest of them all,
I’ll let you go, I’m feeling kind, not hungry anyway,
So quickly the small mouse ran,
Up and over the wall,

Next day out came the hunters, and that big lion caught,
He struggled underneath the ropes, but they were strong and taut.

He lay there weak and scared, sure that he was doomed,
A little mouse crept from the scrub,
And chewed the ropes he’d fought

So whether you’re a lion, or a mouse or fly or whale,
Remember that helping a friend, is a path that never fails,
For every kindness you have done, comes back to you in turn,

Helping those who seem helpless,
Is the lesson of this tale.
