Lyrics and music by Daniel Kelly - 2023

C
The Crow she was sitting high up in a tree,
F C F G
She was happy, so happy, so cheerful and free
C
She had found her a small piece of cheese on the ground,
F C G C
And was about to enjoy it, when she looked down.

F C G C
Down there was a Fox, with a twinkling eye,
He said oh fine crow, what’s this I espy,
A bird of such beauty I never have saw,
You’re the loveliest creature I e’re met before,

Your feathers they shine, glittering like sun,
You eyes just like diamonds, oh beautiful one,
Such a heavenly creature, I never did meet,
I wonder if your voice, could be just as sweet.

The Crow she was flattered, by these words so fair,
So she opened her beak, and her croak filled the air
And as her beak opened, the cheese fell below,
Snapped up by the Fox, such a sneaky fellow.

The lesson of the story, I hope you will mind,
Be careful of people who seem to be kind,
With flattering words but evil deep down,
They’ll catch you off guard, and take what you found,
