Bob and Roy uncover unbelievable woodgrain here by milling the boards to thicknesses ranging from 1" to 4". Logs are selected for external characteristics that indicate unique grain details inside.

The American Common Hackberry log exhibited a lot of external fungal growth. This fungal growth seeps into the lumber, causing "spalting," that inked appearance in the wood grain. Bob turns these boards into beautiful tables, veneers, lamps and mirrors.

The Eastern Red Cedar milling exposes a deep red wood grain, with contrast to whiter sapwood. The lumber is extremely aromatic, and is commonly used in closets and chests. It is also extremely resistant to rot and decay
