If your compressor fails, or more likely, you forget to pack it, will a bike pump take it's place? The answer may surprise you.

What's up Forged Nation! Carter here. After the Apollo sweepstakes, I took the family across the vast Pacific to the incredible island of Kauai. After having to re-schedule the trip three times because of Covid, we went all out and rented a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport and violated probably every rental agreement there was. I'm not sure, I didn't read it.

After taking a trip to one of my favorite places on earth, Polihale State Beach, we took our PSI down to 15 to get through the deep sand and decided to pay a little game of chance with the only onboard air solution we could find... A bike pump. I've always wondered how long it would take and let's just say, it took exactly as long as I thought it would, albeit it was quite the workout.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, there was a gas station about 5 miles down the road to refill completely, so we could get away with inflating to 30 PSI... And these were stock tires. I can't imagine how long it would take with 40's and with my triceps still burning, I'll most likely never find out.
