Hello-sis now. How are you doing?
What's up, P Nation? Today is a very exciting day because we are going to Bulgaria!
It's not a place that was really on our radar, but it was really close to Greece and Athens on the map
So we figured why not? So now we have to get to the airport. We have a flight at
840 with Ryanair. It's about 6 a.m. Right now. We gotta go.
And wheeze up, up, up.
So we read that it would be at 6.30, so I made sure that we were gonna be there.
Minor roadblocks. It's only 6 a.m. on a Friday, which would normally be normal, right? It's 6.39 a.m.
And you're vulnerable, so we're vulnerable. We're gonna take a taxi now.
And we've made it to the airport. We're upset because we got tipped on a taxi.
Just the whole situation is aggravating because we bought a two-way ticket for the metro for
$22 each or 22 euro each. Yeah, and so that's 44 euro, which adds up. That's a lot.
And then we couldn't even use it because none of the stations were open and then all of a sudden
we're running out of time and we have to get to the airport. So then we had to like
Get a taxi that was 40 euro by itself. It's really really ridiculous. I just don't understand.
Loved Greece. I loved it, but they get ya. You have to do it in small little ways. Oh my gosh. It was just at the end.
Yeah, it was just at the end.
All right, that's a wrap from Athens. We're being split up. See you later.
And we made it to Bulgaria. It feels so nice outside. We have not been this cold ever.
Would you say that? No, I would say China was probably just as cold. Okay.
But it was definitely shocking like getting off the train, off the plane. I was just like, whoo.
I did not expect it to be this cold. Should have worn pants today.
But anyways, we're gonna get our bags and hop on the Metro. Is that what it is?
Yes, getting into the Metro, into Zofia, and our Airbnb person is supposed to pick us up at the McDonald's.
No, get it. Go, go, go. Go, go, go, go, go, go. No.
Oh man, a feeling when you just missed your train.
Just got off the subway. We're apparently meeting our guys, walking us to his Airbnb.
And we just realized Bulgaria is the 25th country we've been to. We are a quarter of the way to 100.
Oh no. Okay.
You're stuck over here.
Okay. Okay, we gotta do a limbo.
There we go.
Okay, so we've had a change in plans. Lia told the guy to not meet us at McDonald's because we cannot find it to save our lives.
So we're just walking to where we think it is, but
We have a map. I told the guy not to meet us at the McDonald's because on the map it looks pretty close.
But we had a map to get to our place in Athens and we got really lost.
Perfect little Bulgarian apartment.
That was so cute. We just met the guy downstairs.
We completely passed him. We were like looking and then we stopped in front of his building as we kind of figured out like, okay, that's the thing.
So then he brought us up here and he literally just did like a complete like thorough like, we have cups, we have coffee,
there's an espresso machine, this is for you, here's some extra sheets. Like he went through the entire thing.
It was so adorable and I just feel great that we're here in Bulgaria. I'm so excited for these next four days.
We have so much to do, so much to explore.
Also, take time to relax.
So like Lia said, we just got the room tour and it was really weird because we read that you're supposed to say
this for yes and this for no and so he's like, you're understanding? And we're like still in Asia, like yes.
Yes, ma'am. Yes, and I was like, you could tell he was like, because he was talking like this.
Yeah, which is like, yes, and we were like, no.
But it's okay.
What is this? It's some like medieval Bulgarian key.
Okay, and after a short break we are back out in it. We are looking for lunch before we go to the
Socialist Museum, is that what it's called?
Socialism Monument Museum.
It's going to be very interesting.
So we are hungry and apparently this place is the place to be because just a minute ago
it was super crowded and there was a line out the door, so we're going to try it.
Okay, so first try of Bulgarian food overall,
kind of bland. We need to add a little bit of salt. I don't know if that was the best place to go, but
It kind of just like, it tasted like home-cooked food.
Okay, now we're back in the subway and we are heading towards the Socialist Monument Museum.
Okay, we are entering the museum, and I just want to say it's like
crazy. I don't know, my heart breaks when I see like these statues, but I knew they existed for a long time.
They've been destroyed by many countries, but like to actually see them in real life. This is very surreal right now.
This is arguably the most famous sculpture. It's Vladimir Lenin, and he started the Communist Party of Russia, which became the Soviet Union and dissolved Russia, so he is one of the founders.
I cannot believe the statue is still here.
Okay, so we've checked out this garden. It's actually really pretty cool. However, a tad gloomy,
understandably, and now apparently there's a really nice video. Well, I say nice.
It's apparently a very well done video that we're going to check out inside.
Okay, so we just watched a movie. It was all propaganda.
It was very interesting to see the similarities between China and the USSR, like I didn't realize how
similar they were, and Leah was asleep for almost the whole thing.
Now we're going to go.
Now we're going to go walk through the park and call it a day. Okay, so we're going to go to the park.
However, it just started raining, and it's really cold, so we're going to call it a day here, but Bulgaria is going to be awesome.
I'm really excited to spend the next week here, and we'll catch you later. Bye.
Do you like the leaves that we...
To the land.
Everything's like really blocky. It's like just the contrast of like sleek goddesses, and then like...
