Monument of old Bulgarian Khan in Russia. location: Shiryaevo, Самарска област, 445364
Nice view, isn't it? This is Volga river and over there is a village of Shireevo. It's a small resort
village at the end of Volga river. Over there is the beach and the people are relaxing. Fantastic!
But the reason I'm here is a little bit different. I'm not here for the beach,
I'm not here for this resort village. By the way to come here was fantastic,
was like 35 kilometers road. I haven't seen such a road in Russia so far. Wonderful twisty road,
perfect asphalt, so even to come here it's already good enough. But the reason I'm here is to show
you this historical complex representing the history of Vloshka Bulgaria or Vloshka Bulgaria.
I don't know what is exactly the right english pronouncement. So there is a lot of information,
science explaining everything during the ages what is happening and how finally during the
7th century Khan Kutrak came here and established this Vloshka Bulgaria. And what happens after
that and so on and so on. And there are many interesting monuments explain everything about
Vloshka Bulgaria and so on and so on. So all of this huge project is made from a few Bulgarian
institutions and of course with the local help of the consul of Samara and many more. The monument
that I'm going to show you after a while, the monument of Khan Kutrak is made by Bulgarian
sculptor named Dishko Dishkov from the town of Sopot in Bulgaria. And there are a few companies that
responsible for all of this but the biggest one that you already know is a historical park
Neofit Rilski and they actually partly sponsored my trip now. So I am so glad that
they did even this place. So a lot of information, a lot of interesting facts that me as a Bulgarian
I didn't know. So our history said that Bulgaria is established in 681 but if we trace a little
bit back we'll understand that it's not exactly like that. And this is a picture of one of our
famous rulers Khan Kubrat right in the middle with his sons. And in this situation actually he
explained to them that if you're united no one can break you but if you go alone each one of you
alone you'll be easy target. But anyway they did not listen and they split over the world and
one of his sons Asparuh went over Dunau river and actually established
the Bulgaria 681. But this situation here has happened around 610 and three
like 80 years before that. And the second son Khan Kutrak actually came here and established
Bulgaria. And let me finally show you this beautiful monument. It was a massive challenge
to bring it here because it's very heavy. Built in Bulgaria, delivered here during the pandemic.
Massive challenge to everyone. But anyway they did it. Like I don't know probably around six
meters tall. Only the monument is 3.2. It represents Khan Kutrak with a traditional
army clothes and the weapons that they use at that era. Yeah man fantastic fantastic.
So I'm so glad that they preserve all of this here. They build it and protect it. And now
it's it's here. It's in Russia. It's in different in different country to have historical park
in different country. And to be honest in Bulgaria we know just a little about
Khan Kutrak. Not many people knows about it. So I'm really thankful to my friend Plamen to tell
me about this place and pointed to me. So and because I was in the area it was just a must
to me to come and see it. Yeah it's interesting point. I will drop a link in the description to
the location. If anyone want to see it especially for Bulgarians in the future
please do it so. It's a it's a part of our history. Vloshka Bulgaria was part of Bulgaria
or was another one part of our genes is spread here. So probably all people in the area here
got some kind of Bulgarian genes. So far so good. Now I will hit the road to
Novosibirsk and we will continue traveling. See you in the next video. Ciao.
