And said, hello, I'm so excited to be in Budapest.
Talk about we're in Bucharest.
What's up you nation? Today we're in Bucharest, Romania.
And we are super excited to explore the city.
We've been waiting inside all day because we didn't think we were going to be able to come outside because it was going to rain.
But it didn't rain all day until...
Right now.
When we just stepped out of the door.
We got all ready.
And then it just started pouring.
Like, as we got right here.
So, we're going to try and get out there as soon as possible.
And now, we are at dinner.
We wanted some really good shawarma.
So, we're at the best place on the block.
Every time.
I order too much food.
So we just got, like, shawarma.
Some pita.
And they asked, like, how big, medium, or small.
And I was like, big.
These things are huge.
Look at them.
This thing is the size of my head.
I mean, not that I'm not excited.
Really, really big.
Whoa.
So, we got fries, lettuce, cabbage, tomato, shawarma, onion, and yogurt sauce.
This is going to be, oh, and pickles?
Uh-huh.
Amazing.
I don't, I don't know.
It's good.
I mean, just look at this.
It's like an explosion.
It's like, boom, shawarma.
Central train station, but we only have one minute until the tour starts.
So, we'll see how this works.
Okay, we totally found it.
I don't know how we're going to vlog this.
But, we're going to try and show you the history of this ancient city.
Okay, so we did make it.
We just learned that Parliament Building is the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon.
Got it.
United States went up them.
It's 86 meters high and 92 meters below ground.
There's 1,000 rooms, and she said only 400 get used.
And the biggest moment in the Parliament's history is when Michael Jackson was like,
what?
Apparently got on the balcony, yeah.
And said, hello, I'm so excited to be in Budapest.
But we're in Budapest.
That's really funny.
So, we just learned that Romania is actually rather a very young country.
It is only 100 years old as of 2018.
So, I guess it's 101 years old, which is crazy.
Before Romania was a country, it was comprised of three different sections.
Transylvania, Dracula, vampires, all the good stuff.
Moldova, which there's a country now called Moldova, but it's not, it's like a section of it.
It wasn't the whole thing.
And then, Wallachia.
So, we're here in Wallachia, if Wallachia were a real thing.
So, those three regions made up Romania.
And now, Romania is those three regions minus a few bits that belong to Ukraine, Moldova, and Bulgaria.
Wooden tiles.
Nasty rain clouds and thunderclouds in the background.
Well, the sun is shining, Leah.
I know, but what is this Transylvanian weather for?
Okay, so we just learned about Dracula and Vlad the Impaler who made Dracula, is that correct?
Yeah, the myth is based upon Vlad the Impaler, who was like a monarch's son who gained power.
And he pretty much just impaled every single enemy he ever had.
They said 25,000 people were impaled?
Yeah.
So, worse than Dracula.
We're not going to explain impaling because it sounds very, very, very scary.
Okay, so this is definitely my favorite building so far.
Apparently, Romania started calling everything that was important a palace after the French.
It was like, this bank is a palace, that post office is a palace.
Like, any place that was important was apparently a palace.
Yeah, I like that.
And it started raining.
The walking tour ended early because the downpour just happened and it just let up a little bit right now.
And we are headed back to our Airbnb.
It was amazing.
It was very interesting, a lot of fun.
We'll do it again.
And as soon as we stepped out of the door.
Okay, we do.
And that's about it for today at Bucharest.
Bye.
