Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another episode of Cars Unlocked.
My name is Christopher and today we're right outside of Collins Nissan taking a
look at the 2017 Nissan Murano SL trim line.
This one is in the gorgeous java metallic
with the cashmere interior. Let's take a closer look.
On the front of the Murano we can see Nissan's signature v-motion grille.
Not too many changes between last year's model.
It also is going to come with your LED daytime running lights.
So this one comes in one of the most popular colors the java metallic.
You can see we do have the rear tinted windows to add to the privacy.
One of my favorite things about the Murano redesign that they did in 2015
was they blacked out this back pillar which gives it a nice
floating effect. Gorgeous chrome all throughout as well. Everything floats to
the rear of the car and you do have the nice chrome
side sills here. In this SL package you do get the 18 inch aluminum alloy rims.
It's a nice two-tone rim with the silver and the gray.
And then you do have our rear mud guards here
on all four tires. So this one does come with the LED turning
signals right on the breakaway mirror here.
As you can see and it does have the 360 camera. That is what you get when you go
up to this SL package from the SV model is the
round view monitor. So there's a camera on each mirror which
is going to give you a bird's eye view of the vehicle when you're parking.
So let's pop the hood of the 17 Murano and take a look at the power plan.
Murano you do get the 3.5 V6 engine. It's going to give you about 260
horsepower with 240 pounds feet of torque.
This one does come in the all-wheel drive system. So it's an interior
all-wheel drive system where it will switch automatically for you.
Different from the traditional 4x4 system. So this one does have the CVT
transmission. It's a continuously variable transmission.
Because of that transmission you do sacrifice a little towing capacity.
This Murano can tow up to 1500 pounds but it is phenomenal on fuel. The back of
the Nissan Murano has the chrome continuing throughout. We can see the
very large Nissan emblem and our backup camera is right below.
This one is the SL all-wheel drive edition. So we do get the SL all-wheel
drive badging and our Murano badging. Signature to
Murano's again just like the front is the boomerang style rear tail lights.
So below your tailgate you do get this nice chrome accent here.
And as you can see we do have these square dual exhaust
finishers. So perfect for a day like today in the freezing cold here you do
have the remote starter. This one is the intelligent remote
start where when you start it up it's going to automatically adjust your
temperature to get the car to 22 degrees. Below the
remote starter is your remote your lock unlock and your power lift gate.
And then we have our panic button at the bottom. It is a Nissan intelligent key
so I just have to have the key in the proximity of the vehicle
and I can push the button to lock and push the button to unlock the door.
With that said let's unlock the 2017 Murano and check out the interior.
Instantly when we enter the Murano we can see this gorgeous beige
cashmere theme. The interior comes in two different themes a charcoal theme and
the cashmere theme. When you go up to the SL package you do
get the two memory positions for your driver's seat
and then our window locks and mirror controls are right on the door here.
Right next to the mirror is our blind spot indicator so that's going to
indicate you when someone's in your blind spot letting you know not to change
lanes. As you enter you do have the Murano
kick plates and then you enter into the NASA inspired
zero gravity seats. This is something that they added in all the Muranos
and in the SL you do get the leather appointed seating
and the eight-way power adjustable driver's seat.
Checking out the steering wheel of the Murano we do have
the heated and leather wrapped steering wheel and then all our controls are
right on the wheel with our radio controls,
our bluetooth and cell phone controls and our cruise control.
One thing I love about the Nissan Murano is this very large vehicle
information screen. It basically has so many controls that I
don't really have to take my hands off the wheel and everything is in front of
me. I can see I have my two gauges my
tachometer and my speedometer there and then I have the digital
speedometer right on the vehicle information screen as
well as my compass. I can cycle these through these screens
to show my radio, my compass, my drive computer,
my fuel economy and then there's also the driving aids which a lot of people
love in these SLs. As I mentioned it does have the blind
spot warning. Okay so when they redesigned the Nissan
Murano they did update the infotainment system
and they're really stuck with the same thing for the 2017.
Really the only new thing to the infotainment system in the 2017 models
is we can add the apple carplay connection
but this is really easy. It sets up just like your cell phone
where I can go into my home menu and adjust where I have the different icons
right on my screen and then there's all the features of
your regular infotainment system like our Sirius satellite radio
which Nissan gives you free for 90 days. Our GPS navigation
which is a very large and vivid display and you can do things like your pinch to
zoom and pinch to zoom out, track your google
points of interest and other benefits of the navigation.
It does come with the automatic and dual temperature control
keeping your girlfriend happy. She can be hot on her side and I can be cold
on my side and I just need to set the temperature and it's going to
automatically adjust the fans to get to where it needs to be. The NAS
inspired zero gravity seats are heated and the controls are right in the center
console here and then I do have my push button start
that comes with the Nissan Intelligent Key.
One thing I love is the around view monitor that comes in these Morenos.
There's a camera on all four sides of the vehicle.
Right now it's in the front view and when I put it in reverse it switches to
the rear view. I can also see my bird's eye view of the
vehicle on the right hand side and it's also going to include our
moving object detection and cross traffic alert.
So if something is driving or moving perpendicular on the screen there
it will notify me on the screen and with an audio beep.
Everybody's favorite feature is the dual panoramic moonroof.
This one comes in the SV trim level and up on the Morenos.
Very large, lets a lot of light into the car. Just the front one opens up to the
environment and the rear is more like the skylight in
your house. It's all automatic and it just closes
with the touch of a button there. One of the upgrades as you move up to
the SL model is the Bose audio sound system and additional speakers.
It's going to sound great especially with the Sirius XM
trial that you get from Nissan. The back of the
Nissan Moreno is extremely roomy and extremely comfortable.
The nice inspired zero gravity seats do continue in the back
giving that added comfort for long drives and long road trips.
I can recline my seat as well if I want to relax
and just have a comfier ride and I have my cup holders and elbow rests here and
my cell phone slot right in the back. There's also a USB
connection in the rear so I can play music right from the back
here and charge my cell phone. With the SL you
also get the power liftgate. It's going to open up with the touch of
a button and you can set the height if you have a
smaller garage or if it opens too high. I open it up to this massive cargo area
as you can see it does come with the tunnel cover
which is going to prevent people from seeing what you have in the back
and this one does include the Nissan accessory
cargo mat and all of them are going to include your carpeted
floor mats. One of my favorite features about the cargo area of the Moreno
is how the seats fold down. I just need to pull the levers here
and it's going to fold on each side. It's a 60-40 split for the seat
and then I have this massive cargo area for
all my storage needs. So thank you very much for watching another episode of
Cars Unlocked. Don't forget my name is Christopher.
