So we got dumped on here last night and I want to know if the Nissan Sentra is on
your shopping list. This one's the 2021. If it is you might be curious as to how it drives in the
snow. So we're going to take it for a quick little test so you don't have to. My name is Christopher
this is Cars Unlocked guys. I'm going to be test driving a lot of vehicles in the snow. I do a lot
of car reviews, how to's. So make sure you subscribe to my channel. We work at St. Catharines
Nissan 155 Scott Street in the Niagara region. So if you guys have any questions about purchasing
a Nissan vehicle or any pre-owned vehicle do not hesitate to contact me. I'm going to put my
contact information in the description below. But let's talk about this Sentra that we're driving
right now. So Nissan just redesigned the 2020 Sentra last year and we've just started to receive
our first batch of 2021 models. It is a front wheel drive sedan so a lot of people come in with
some concerns about how it drives in the snow and how it handles in the snow. So we're going to take
it out. We're going to test drive it. We just got dumped on here in Niagara last night so let's try
it out. Keep in mind guys that this is exactly how it comes from the factory. There's no snow
tires on this. Obviously at the dealership level we recommend snow tires on the vehicle
but there's no snows. It's going to come with the factory all-season tires. We're going to see how
it drives. Nissan has a lot of intelligent safety features that will help you like your forward
emergency braking. It has the active trace control for turning so it does drive well in the snow.
Obviously we're going to recommend snow tires. It does push pretty well in the snow. They upped the
engine here and added a bit more power under the hood so it does push. The older Sentras
I didn't like in the snow. You would definitely need snow tires. This one's okay turning. It's
pretty good and it does handle well. I feel like I'm in control so we're going to get this up to
speed and slam on the brakes as if it's an emergency and see how quickly it takes to stop.
We're on the road. There's snow, there's ice, there's mud so let's step on it and see how long
our stopping distance is. So we're up to about 50 now and slam on the brake. One Mississippi, two
Mississippi, three Mississippi. So about three seconds it comes to a complete stop which your
tires will prevent that but that's still pretty good for a stopping distance. Obviously if we're
going faster it's going to take you longer so it's just kind of you know to stay a few car lengths
behind someone so that you don't hit them when if you do have to suddenly emergency brake.
So overall the Nissan Sentra in the snow it does handle pretty well. You don't want to go too fast
but if you go slow and steady you shouldn't have any issues. It does stop very quickly.
You have the forward emergency braking. You have all the sensors to help you when you're parking.
In terms of making tight turns it's very easy to turn. Has a short turning radius which is great.
Obviously snow tires are definitely going to help you. They might also offer you lower insurance
so I'm recommending those. I know I've said it a thousand times but I'm a big advocator of snow
tires. But there you have it guys. Thank you so much for watching. Don't forget if you are in the
inquire about purchasing a Nissan do not hesitate to contact us. The link is in the description
