3 Simple Rules For Mixing Patterns | Pattern Mixing 101

Patterns are one of those things about menswear that make it so interesting and so much fun. However, mixing patterns can be a bit tricky. In this video, I'm sharing three simple tips on how to mix patterns like a pro.

A quick guide to pattern mixing:
1. Choose two different types of patterns (dot, stripe, or check)
2. Vary the size
3. One bold, one subtle

Like all "rules of style", these tips are merely guidelines. Try them out, but experiment as well. The only hard and fast rule of style, in my opinion is this: if it looks right (or if it feels right), then it is right. If it looks wrong, then it is wrong. Of course, this is very subjective and will vary from person to person based on their level of comfort or conservatism.
