CHRISTMAS IN JULY TRADITION🎅🏻 Family Christmas Traditions

Hey guys, welcome back to our channel. If you were here last year then you probably remember our video of Christmas in July. However, we do it in August every year because July is just way too busy of a month for us. So that's what today's video is all about. It's the whole Christmas in July idea but just in the month of August. So to get ready for it, usually the night before, I will bake some Christmas cookies. So that's what I'm doing here. And then we will wake up early in the morning before our kids are awake. We actually kind of slept in today but thank goodness our kids slept in a little bit later. But we put up the Christmas tree and I'll also pull out a couple of our Christmas bins and just put a few decorations up around the house. Something else I like to do is have all of our Christmas blankets thrown on the couch so that we can just snuggle and watch Christmas movies all day. That's kind of all we do for most of the day until my family gets here later and we will show you more of that here later on in the video. Something else that we do is I get a Christmas gift for each kid in the family. So everyone gets one present and it's really like a $10 gift. It's not like a big extravagant thing but it just makes it more fun for the kids. So they have that anticipation to open something later that night. It's just so fun for the kids. but as long as you're around everything will be okay because all i want to do is spend this holiday with you tomorrow it is christmas the first for me and you we tricked you what is it those are for you those are for all the cousins remember that's how we do it everybody gets one we gotta wait till all the cousins get here huh what do we say to mom thank you ezra looks just confused you made us christmas are you confused a little bit oh my goodness well what movie did we watch last night christmas christmas chronicles it's like it was meant to be huh well do you know why i didn't want you in the kitchen last night because i was making christmas cookies i didn't want you guys yeah guys come read what they say well that was a good guess ezra can you read what it says this is you hughes boys hughes boys guys i'm gonna let you guys open the hughes boys one right now okay but we have to wait for all the other ones for the for the cousins to get here so which one says hughes boys it says zeke oh there's zeke and remy and brayden okay you guys are going to open this one together wait a minute i need some more okay how many though how many puzzle pieces are there 500 wait this is the same one but different somehow wait and you guys it's 500 pieces so it's gonna be way harder huh you guys want to start putting that together yeah so while they were putting their puzzle together i made their breakfast and this is the exact breakfast that i made last year and that i will probably make every year so it's just reindeer pancakes and this year i just got some frozen pancakes just to make my life a little bit easier because there's so much to do today but i got just regular sized pancakes small pancakes and then just cooked some bacon and eggs and just formed a little reindeer here and then for the eyes and the nose i'm just using some m&ms oh my goodness you do what um yeah you're right so so you knew that like well what kind of what kind of brown skittles do you know of you ever seen a brown skittle yeah yeah i actually have no they're purple the next thing that we did today was we went down into our little theater room and i let all the kids pick out a candy and then we made some popcorn and then we spent the rest of the day until my family got here watching christmas movies so we watched the grinch christmas chronicles and then we had rudolph fawn and charlie brown and i'm trying to think there anything else like we literally had a movie marathon up until about six o'clock when people started coming as far as dinner goes we always make the traditional christmas dinner except we can never find turkey this time of year so we just get rotisserie chicken which to me kind of tastes the same but we have it with mashed potatoes corn gravy my mom makes delicious pumpkin rolls and we just have all the goodies too so you're really getting everything you would typically have on christmas eve or christmas dinner so today is sunday and elliot's first birthday happens to be august 19th and that is this thursday so we just decided to do like a little party while everybody was here and just celebrate his birthday today as well so we're gonna do that first and then we will let everybody else open their presents we're gonna do elliot's first because it's his birthday today okay it's his birthday today happy birthday happy birthday to you happy birthday dear elliot happy birthday to you oh my goodness mom put it together oh that's cute a little mini one cute wow hey when it came in the box i'm all how is that a bike it was literally like this thing okay can you ride the bike okay come here okay wow oh my goodness feet can't touch it you're gonna you're you'll get there you'll be riding a bike so fast no training wheels good job i know that's yours okay boys this is also for everyone to share did you want to keep it safe oh are you serious you guys it looks so cute oh it's cute oh it's so cute what is it oh okay this one says red me there you go it says elliot elliot see how's your show dad let me see wow a noise machine hold on hold on what are the chances christmas vacation the best looking house in town hey it talks he talks oh my gosh well this is the ornament we're gonna put on the tree right now he's got a wad of light look at that mom that is too perfect oh the batteries are right here okay so i will go put him in what's going on she always hides it on the christmas tree and then whoever's the first to find it will get some kind of gift card but today she decided to hide some other ornament in my house and we had no idea that she was doing this so that's what everybody's doing right now is everyone is just searching for this ornament is she did she uh where did you find it it was in the cup right oh okay where was it in the cup he's the first child because we haven't let kids play this because we've only had adults that's yours are you happy smile with your teeth it's not under bite smile normal yeah okay show me all the ones you guys have ezra let me see what you got who's that you got pikachu so we're all just going to probably hang out in here for a little bit put on a christmas movie and call it a night what do you guys think was today fun yeah was it a great surprise to wake up to we love doing this so actually you should say merry christmas in july that we
