You'll hear me say it in the video, but the journey we've had with the channel has been pretty amazing. I've been in this business for over seven years at this point--we started the HSS website in February of 2013. I've seen and endured a lot of changes and trends. We've adapted where we needed to and said, "no, thanks" to a variety of directions we felt pushed into as a result of prevailing industry winds or pressure from our (not-current) management team.
I'm proud that we've kept the ship upright through all of that. And not only upright, but thriving, growing, and stayed exceptionally true to the original HSS DNA--approachable, relatable, inclusive, with a touch of what I like to call attainable aspiration.
In a way, nothing embodies that ethos more than the YouTube channel. It's simple. It's classic with a modern sensibility. No fancy edits. No bells and whistles. It's not trend-chasing. It's not derivative. It's not looking for the next lily pad. It's my voice and, in many ways, it's your voice as well.
That last part is the best part. And I'm not overstating it here when I tell you that that sense of community and engagement has reinvigorated me personally and professionally to an immeasurable degree. So thank you for your continued support and good luck!
