The gasoline in your classic cars is a refined chemical that requires highly certain features and attributes in order to work well. Some of the more volatile components of gasoline will begin to evaporate over time. As a result, the total volatility of the gasoline decreases.

The gasoline may still function in some circumstances, but it will burn less efficiently. This, in turn, can lead to performance issues. Some impacts may be mild, such as causing the car to start slowly or stall, while others, such as the one our customer experienced, can be severe.

The answer to the question "what is the best gasoline for my old car?" is typically simple. E0 gasoline only (pure gasoline without ethanol).

In terms of current gas stations, they solely sell ethanol-mixed gasoline. You're still in luck if you're one of the numerous old classic cars aficionados who refuse to utilize E10. Shell is now working on a new premium gasoline aimed specifically at older classic cars.
