China's First Ladies: How women behind the throne changed China in the 20th century.
The difference between communism and capitalism is best illustrated through a comparison between two of China’s First Ladies: Madame Chiang and Madame Mao. One is a movie actress who worked her way up from a modest beginning. The other is a devout Christian from a missionary family and one of the famous Soong sisters. These two famous Chinese women were political superwomen. Together with their husband, they changed Chinese history. But their endings were drastically different.
