Installing IKEA Cubes For Shoe Storage at Our Entry Way // Class C RV Remodel Ideas

Although we thought we were close to finished with installing RV roof vent covers on our RV, there was one pesky one that just wouldn't cooperate with us.

So rather than install it the way the instructions said, we decided to do it in our own ingenious way. But not following instructions may have actually led to us breaking the fan!

While Chris worked on fixing the van and roof vent cover, Lindsay set to work building out our cube storage boxes that we wanted to install by the front door. These would hold our shoes as well as dog toys and accessories that we could quickly grab and put away as we came in and out of the RV.

One great way we tied these RV cube storage boxes together, literally, was by cutting another piece of butcher block counter, staining it and mounting it to the top of the boxes to create a custom surface that matched the other decor in the room.

We also did a simple, but necessary, task of securing items in and on top of the storage boxes by cutting a small strip of cedarwood, staining it and then nailing it to the box to prevent the contents of the box from sliding out every time we hit the gas or brakes.

Then we tackled a few smaller projects, such as securing the desk and cube to the floor and wall so it would not move when we were driving. We also put a little effort into our standing desk, giving us an option to be able to work either standing or sitting in our camper.

In all, things are moving closer to the finish line with our camper remodel!
