Puerto Morelos to Cancun ~ BEACHES & FEASTING ~ VLOG 198

Welcome back to another week with Katie Met Chris. You know we're going to find some gorgeous beaches and some amazing food. But first, where do you get your laundry done? There's two beaches in Puerto Morelos and there's tons of pelicans. Now we're off to Cancun. We're staying in an all-inclusive for the first time where they're already stuffing us. Even more. I think I'm going to die. How much I've slept I have to eat. I can't believe how spectacular the water is. On second thought, forget the laundry. Let's just stay here forever. Where do we go from here? One of the recurring challenges of life on the road is where do you get your laundry done? Well I don't know about where you're at, but around here we head to the lavanderia. Great part of Mexico. You can have it washed, dried, and folded for only a couple dollars. I love this place. It reminds me of old Swiss family Robinson. They were cast adrift in an angry uncharted sea. Did you ever dream of having a house up on a treetop? I want to live here. There's two beaches in Puerto Morelos. One to the right and one to the left. All right. The beach to the left of the main square, which is north of the square, is more touristy. There's more bars and a couple clubs. A lot more chairs and cabanas here. It's nice. The water is the same in both. The sand is packed really hard on this side though. It's actually pretty uncomfortable to walk from very far on. All in all, it's nice enough. And there's tons of pelicans, which is my favorite. And to your right. Is the beach we prefer. A lot fewer people down here. The sargassum comes and goes. That's anywhere. But the sand is a lot lighter and fluffier. A lot more natural. It's not so packed down for the clubs. Every once in a while, a vendor walks down here. But generally, it's a lot more peaceful and you're kind of left alone down here. Birds seem to prefer this side of the beach when it comes to fishing. Well, if the birds are here, you know where Katie's at. And if you know where Katie's at, you know where I'm at. And finger gestures. And this sign is new. That wasn't there when we got here. So cool. And while Katie was making friends with this adorable little lizard, something cool happened on our channel. 1,500 subscribers. But now it's already time to move on again. We had a great time in Puerto Morelos. You should definitely visit. Off to Cancun. We're saying in an all-inclusive for the... Buenas tardes. It's lemon and cucumber. We haven't even checked yet. We haven't even checked in yet and we're already making use of the all-inclusive. I'm not going to get it. That's all you get. Your turn. We haven't even checked in yet and they're already stuffing us. Nice room. Oh, yeah, that's going to be nice. How very us. We haven't even done a resort tour yet and we're already taking you to the second restaurant. I, you know, what's important to us is important to us. And that's food. The view here is spectacular. We're the one of the... Well, the first one for the sushi part and she sat us right next to the window. But don't forget your phone because you'll need it for the menu. So I get to borrow Chris's phone. I think I'll do all right without a menu. The lady at the counter said to come at six. We'd have it to ourselves. She was right. Hi, good evening. How are you? Great, how are you? Welcome to Umami. My name is Chutima. I'll be your waitress. Crunchy. That's really good. Gyoza. I'm trying to figure out what the inside is. It's supposed to be meat. Oh, it has a little bit of spice, but I would hard press to say it's any type of meat. But because it's soft like a sponge in the inside. I'll have to look and see what's in this. Yeah, it's good. It's a little bit sweet. That's really good. I have to admit, I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sushi here. We were expecting it to just be okay. This is actually really good. The rice is good. The fish is good. It's prepped well. These rolls are huge. I was expecting like four little pieces. We each ordered three rolls of beef. This is going to be fun. Even more. Now, which one was this one? Umami roll. It's a spicy tuna. Carnage. Dear Lord, I think I ordered three rolls. I hope I didn't. We'll soon find out. I ain't gonna lie. I'm suffering already, but it's well worth it. This is really good sushi. Such a wonderful surprise. I mean, the view. Look at that. I did order another roll. Holy cow. I didn't hear her say there was 10 pieces per roll. I was apparently just looking at the menu. Here we go. I think I'm gonna die. How much I've left to have to eat? But it's sushi. I'm gonna eat it all. Because I... Needless to say, I think we found the place that we're going to be dining almost every night this week. I'm really enjoying... Caribbean right here in the hotel zone of Cancun. We never go places like this. So it's a real special treat for us. Wow, you guys are still here. Well, I'd like to thank everybody.
