Let's shorten this a little bit.
I know this video is unlike anything I've ever done before,
but I thought it would be fun to film me cutting my bangs.
I am following a tutorial,
so I'll have that going while I'm doing this.
I have not liked my hair for the longest time.
That's why I'm always wearing beanies.
I know a lot of people say,
do you ever wear anything but a hat or a beanie?
I just don't like the top of my head,
and I just have really, really fine, thin hair.
So anyway, I thought it would be fun
to maybe switch things up a little bit
and give myself some bangs.
So we're gonna do that today.
Following this tutorial, hopefully I don't screw it up,
and then I hate my hair even more.
So crossing my fingers
that this will turn out how I'm hoping.
Okay, so starting up here,
I'm just following her step-by-step.
So she starts out with all this situation right here.
We'll decide where I wanna trim them.
I don't have any bangs at all.
This is all the way as long as my hair.
So we'll see how this goes.
I'm obviously not cutting all of this, you guys.
I'm just, we'll see.
Okay, let's push play and see how this goes.
You're gonna need a flyer
and that probably gets super duper.
Okay, first of all, hold on.
I'm already, I'm already losing my mind.
Okay, so she grabs just right here in the front.
My only problem is I washed my hair yesterday
and I wore a beanie.
So my hair is like super flat to my head,
but it's also parted down the middle.
So I hope that I can fix that
because that will look weird
if I have a part on my bangs.
Okay, or maybe it won't, we'll see.
So what she starts out by doing
is grabbing this really thin piece of hair right here.
And you guys, again, I have the finest hair.
It's super, super thin.
So then she takes a straightener.
I'm just turning mine back on.
I don't want it to be too hot,
but what she says to do is she rounds it out right here
and then just kind of gives it some volume,
which I need a lot of.
So, okay, so far so good.
I cannot see anything.
Okay, next, and then she'll just do this again a few times,
but with the thinnest amount of hair.
Let's see if I got anything.
And then she'll just, oh my goodness, you guys,
I am not good at hair.
Clearly, this is not my strong suit.
Okay, I can barely part it.
Oh my gosh, I cannot see.
Okay, but she says don't straighten this section
with the one before.
So you're going to wanna do these individually.
Keep them.
Let's see how many times we're gonna do this.
If you have finer hair, you don't need one
that gets that hot.
In fact, you don't want one that gets super hot.
And if it does...
Also, guys, I will have this linked down below
because she obviously is giving way better tips
than I'm going to be giving you.
We're just gonna see how this goes.
Oh my gosh, I'm starting to get nervous.
Okay, so I probably don't want that much.
That's many bangs.
I might stick it like right here.
Okay, we're going to call that good.
And now we are going to start trimming.
Oh, so starting, I do want them.
I'm so nervous.
Okay, you're going to start with just like
one little piece right here, right?
Okay, and she says however long you want your bang,
you're going to come down at an angle like this
and keep it flush to your face.
So don't bring it out here
because if you trim it up here,
then it'll just be a lot shorter.
So let's just trim it way down here just for practice, okay?
Just so I'm not, okay.
Sorry about the children screaming in the background.
Okay, these might be a little too big,
but we'll adjust.
Again, I'm just, okay, that's not too,
yeah, that's cutting okay.
I'm going to make them way shorter,
but I'm just, just in case.
Okay, and these two,
and these ones will probably stay
kind of long way over here.
So again, what she says to do is just kind of like,
you're doing this motion, you're not closing them.
It's just kind of like this motion,
you start where you want the shortest,
and then you kind of just go down.
Does that make sense?
But it's cutting okay.
Oh my gosh.
♪ The world could fall down, it's gonna be okay. ♪

Okay, well, again, a little piece.
I am like so nervous.
Why is this so scary?
Maybe because I've seen so many tutorials
where it's gone bad.
Okay, I think we should.
And see that?
So that's what it does is it creates this soft
kind of pointed edge here
to where they're not gonna be too blunt.
So same thing, pulling them down.
Okay, that's my shortest one.
And close, okay.
Now, I want these to be pretty.
I don't want them straight across.
I want them piecey.
Yeah, this is.
And I'm getting towards the outside,
working my way in.
These bangs on the outside,
you want those a little bit longer, okay?
So, just like that.
And that's the key here to having a bang
that can be pushed back into your hair
and they don't have to be worn as bangs
is that they are a little bit longer.
They may be in your eyeballs.
Okay.
And I can go out of this.
So, that's pretty much.
So, and you can see, like, those are not,
they are not straight across by any means.
They're very textured, they're very piecey,
and that's what I want because I do not want,
I mean, not that I have anything against that.
I think those bangs can look super great
if that's what you're going for.
But like I said, for me, my key here
is I want them to be able to be pushed aside.
Okay, so now I'm just taking my flat iron here
and I'm putting just a slight bevel in them
so that they aren't, like, sticking straight out.
Just like that.
Straight down.
I'm actually kind of coming in at an angle
and rounding it out a little bit with my flat iron.
Now, with bangs, I think it is,
I guess my only fear about having bangs
was my, I'm just hot all the time.
And so, if my forehead's sweating, you know, it's hot,
then that's gonna be just great.
Okay.
I needed to do something over here.
Okay, so we got some.
That kind of went the other way.
