I don't even know where to start.
So, last night, I got a message from my brother,
my mom's phone broke, so it's coming from my mom,
about my dad.
As of right now, he's okay, but for those who don't know,
my dad is diabetic, he's on dialysis right now,
his kidneys have completely failed,
he's been on dialysis for like two years now.
Every night, he hooks up to this machine
and it cleans his blood.
So, that's what your kidneys are doing,
but since he doesn't have any,
he has to do this on a machine while he sleeps.
He used to go to a clinic four days a week
and he had to sit there for four hours, I believe.
You basically cannot have a life when you're on dialysis.
The only thing to fix all of this is to get a kidney.
And he had a kidney donor
and they were in their final steps
and something happened where this person
could no longer donate their kidney.
We were thinking, you know, by the first of November,
he would have a kidney,
but this problem that I'm gonna talk about
has nothing to do with even the dialysis.
This is something that happened a while ago.
So, when he first got,
when he first started doing treatments through dialysis,
he had a fistula, a fistula?
I don't know exactly how to say it,
but anyway, it was in his arm
and it was basically this port,
this big thick thing that stuck out of his arm
and that's how he would get his dialysis done
was through this port right here.
Well, this port made all of his,
like it killed his nerves.
He has no feeling in his hands anymore
and all of a sudden,
and they've gone in and done more surgeries
to try to like fix that
because now he doesn't use the port at all.
So, they took the port out.
Anyway though, he's never like got his feelings back
and his feeling back in his fingers
and they're very cold
and Ezra's just here playing with a car.
So, if you hear like loud sounds, that's what that is.
But my dad plays the guitar.
My dad is a musician.
Like he loves,
like he's in a band.
He's in his late 50s
and he still is in a band that performs
and you know, we've gone and seen him all the time
in vlogs, we've shown that.
But anyway, the other night his pinky finger,
like all the skin just like,
he woke up and it was like off of his finger
and just like all raw.
It was like, it looked like a muscle.
Like it was, all his skin was just like gone
from the tip of his finger
and so they went into the doctor
and let me just read this message, hold on.
Okay, it says,
hey mom wanted me to let you guys know
that on Thursday, which is tomorrow,
or when you're watching this today,
dad has an appointment to try and blast out
the crystallized parts of his finger.
They did ultrasounds on his fingers
and some of them didn't have any heartbeats.
So they are trying to get his veins working in his fingers.
If they aren't able to, they will have to amputate.
Now, now I know some people might be thinking like,
why are you so upset about amputating a finger
or multiple fingers?
My dad's already lost both of his legs.
I just, I swear he gets like the worst luck.
Everything, like he always has something else going on,
whether it's he like can't eat
because he has no appetite
and he just throws up anytime he eats
and it's been like this for two years.
Two years ago, he, my uncle found him unconscious
in California, he was on a trip down there.
This is when his kidneys failed
and he was dead.
He was revived three times.
He flatlined three times and he did have
a little bit of a cool experience from that.
He can remember just like witnessing people
working on his body and he was like
looking down at everybody and he felt so good
and peaceful and just happy.
And then when he would be revived,
he felt all this pain and like agony.
When we, when he came back to Utah,
he was there for a trip for his birthday
and he ended up dying and then coming back to life.
So again, his luck, I swear he just has the worst luck.
And when he came back, he was just so happy
about just being here, even though he was in pain
and even though he, his kidneys failed.
Now he had to do dialysis, like he was just like
happy to be here and he's only in his 50s.
What I'm getting at, that's just a backstory
for those who don't like know about him
or maybe are new.
So I just know, we know this from the past,
if they start cutting, they don't stop.
It started with like his big toe and now he has no legs.
And I know, so if they have to cut one finger off
or two fingers off, he won't have much time left
or it's just going to kill his spirit.
Like he won't be able to do anything anymore.
He's already frustrated that he doesn't have feeling.
He has, he has neuropathy and so he has a hard time
like opening lids or picking things up.
But if he has to get them cut off, I just.
What I want to ask from you is if any of you
can just quickly say a prayer
that they'll be able to fix this.
It's just so annoying that this is happening
from a port that he doesn't even use.
Obviously this is God's will for this to happen
but that they will be able to fix this
problem and just not have to amputate.
I want to share, years ago,
I don't know the exact year this happened,
my dad has had like 40 something surgeries
and so many health problems.
He got diabetes when he was 26
and he was the most athletic person that I knew.
He played college football, he played volleyball,
he was like a professional volleyball player.
He could jump higher than any human I've ever seen.
Like there's pictures of him where he's jumping
over a volleyball net and half of his torso
is over the net, like he just was so physically active.
He owned a hardwood floor company
for over 20 something years.
Always working and always physical
and I swear things like this happen to people like that.
But anyway, years ago, I think I was in ninth grade
when this happened, he was on hospice.
They sent him home from the hospital.
He was on bed rest for like nine months
and they basically said just wait for him to die.
Like he is so sick.
He had all this infection, it was everywhere in his body
and when that happens, there's nothing they can do.
Like it's just a matter of time before you pass on
and my church held a fast for my dad.
They literally thought he wouldn't make it
through the night and I remember people coming
to visit him and basically say goodbye to him
and I remember just thinking like there's no way.
Like he will not die.
I did not believe for one second that he would
but anyway, that's probably me being naive
but our war, our church held a fast for him.
Every person in our ward, which is our church building
and there's hundreds of people, fasted and prayed
for 24 hours for him and the next day,
he sat up, he hadn't sat up in a long time
and he said he felt so good.
We called nurses to come check on him
and they just couldn't believe it.
He went to the hospital, they ran all these tests
and he had no infection.
It was 100% gone.
I wanna say within like 24 hours, he was at work.
He was so happy to feel good.
He hadn't felt good, literally it was like nine months
that he laid on a couch with this IV pick in his arm
that just kept him alive but anyway,
I share this because I know that if it's God's will
that it will work out.
That miracles happen all the time.
I just wanted to ask people because I know
a few hundred people praying or a few thousand,
I don't know, praying for him or thinking of him today
as he goes into his appointment
to hopefully be able to fix this problem.
I would appreciate that so much.
I'm sorry this whole video is just me bawling
but I don't ever share when something's going on
right when it's going on.
I talk about it after when I'm fine
or when I feel like we just need help right now.
You guys always show so much love and support to us
and so we really appreciate anyone
that will just say a quick prayer for my dad today.
And I will definitely keep you guys updated.
The second we get word, which would probably be
tomorrow, I'll let you guys know in tomorrow's video
what's happened or what it looks like will happen
from here on out.
Thank you guys so much and I will definitely give you guys
an update tomorrow or as soon as I have any kind of update.
Thank you guys.
