Hey guys, welcome back to my 12 days of Christmas series.
And in today's video,
I will be making six different Christmas signs
that are super easy for any of you guys to recreate.
So jumping into this first Santa one,
I actually picked up this Christmas bag from Target.
And when I saw this bag in their Christmas section,
I thought this would be the most perfect Christmas sign.
So all I'm doing is cutting out the front of the bag
and obviously trimming off where the holes are.
And then I am gluing this onto this MDF board.
You can pick up MDF board for just a couple dollars
at either Home Depot or Lowe's.
And with this size,
I could easily get four pieces from just one board.
And the reason I'm gluing this onto the board
is to just make the frame a little bit more sturdy.
♪ Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree ♪
♪ Thy leaves are so unchanging ♪
So for the frame portion,
I picked up this wood again from Home Depot or Lowe's.
And these boards are around just a dollar.
And I had my husband just cut them
to the size that I needed.
And then using a cloth,
I stained the wood this Brer Smoke color.
Then to secure the frame onto the sign,
you could obviously use pin nails,
but I just used wood glue.
♪ Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree ♪
♪ Thy leaves are so unchanging ♪
♪ Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree ♪
Moving onto this next one,
it's kind of the same idea,
but a lot more simple.
So I picked up these Santa bags just at Dollar Tree
as well as this sign.
And you actually get two Santa bags for $1.
So really this whole frame right here
will only cost you $1.50.
All I did was I pulled out the insert
and I used that to trace the right size
that I needed to cut my Santa out.
♪ Joy and glee, oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree ♪
♪ Such pleasure do you bring me ♪
And here is just another example.
I also picked up this frame from Dollar Tree
and it's a matte black color.
So I just thought this would be really cute
if you're going for more of a farmhouse theme.
You could definitely pick up a frame that's already made
and this is an 11 by 14.
So this is a really big sign for just $1.
♪ Be unchanging, each shining light, each silver bell ♪

Now moving on to the sign that I have above my bed.
I picked up two boards that are 10 inches wide
by four feet long.
And all I'm doing here is painting them
with this chalk paint that I picked up from Walmart.
My inspiration for this sign, I will show you right here.
I found this on Pinterest and I just loved the font
and how it just said, and to all a good night.
So all I did here is I looked at the picture,
I counted out how many letters there were in this phrase
as well as spaces in between the letters.
So I knew exactly what I needed to write
in the center of the board.
And I first did this with just a pen
and then I traced over it with some black acrylic paint.
♪ The first Noel the angels did say ♪
♪ Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay ♪
♪ In fields where they lay keeping their sheep ♪
I wasn't loving the sign as it was.
So I actually went in with some of that brayer smoke stain
and I'm just staining a few parts of the board
and then going back over it with some of the chalk paint
to make it just look a little bit more distressed.
♪ Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel ♪
Then to finish off this sign,
this garland is actually from Michael's
and it was just $15.
And then the stocking banner beneath was $1
and I just made this from Dollar Tree.
These last two signs actually came from one board
and I had Lowe's cut it right in half
so that I could make my two signs.
So I'm again using the brayer smoke stain
and wiping it off so it left a really light stain color.
♪ And saw a star shining in the east ♪
Then using the stencil that I picked up from Walmart
and this was just 97 cents, you guys.
I think it is the cutest thing ever.
I'm going in with that cream chalk paint and a sponge brush.
The thing with stencils is if you have a lot of paint
on your brush, it will bleed.
So you want to use a very light amount
and if you have to do two or three coats,
that's totally fine.
But I was just thinking for Christmas,
I think these would be great Christmas gifts
and also think you only have to buy the stencil one time
so you can really get your bang for your buck
if you're making multiple signs with one stencil.
This is just kind of the same idea using some stencils.
These were also picked up from Walmart.
♪ King of Israel ♪
♪ Born is the King ♪
I thought this sign looked a little bare
but I had a whole bunch of stuff in my Dollar Tree supply.
So these are all items from Dollar Tree
and I was just deciding what I thought would look good here.
I stuck this Dollar Tree pick inside
and then I also glued on this cute little Christmas hat.

I hope you guys got some inspiration
and some ideas of how you can make your own signs,
whether for yourself
or maybe for some Christmas gifts for other people.

make sure you do that,
especially if you don't wanna miss
