I have yet another Notion tour video
to share with y'all today.
I am incredibly excited.
I don't know why I get so excited for these videos.
It's just, I love organizing my life.
I love planning to be productive,
sometimes even more so than actually being productive,
which is not good.
But as you may already know, I use Notion,
and I have been using Notion for over a year now.
It is my favorite productivity app of choice.
And huge thank you to Notion for sponsoring this video.
If you wanna sign up and try it out for yourself,
I'll leave the link where you could do so down below.
Without further ado, let's just get into it.
This tab to the left, I call the rooms to the home.
These rooms were kind of inspired
by the layout of a bullet journal.
So we have the 2021 yearly agenda,
the monthly spread, the weekly spread,
whole room dedicated to YouTube things,
kind care, which is all of the business things,
and lifestyle, which is all of my personal life things.
So we're gonna just get all into it.
Let's enter the main 2021 page.
I am so glad that I created this page
at the beginning of the year.
On the very left column, I have my list of goals,
and you could click on every single one of these goals
and find baby steps on how to achieve these goals.
Another huge disclaimer is that there will be
so many things blurred out in this video,
and I know that is so frustrating.
It's a lot of personal things you wouldn't even wanna read.
I'll probably be the most frustrated
trying to edit these out.
So good luck future editing self.
To the right of this goals column,
I created a column for every single month of the year.
As often as I could,
whenever I did something a little bit more special,
moments that I wanted to remember,
I just jotted that down.
Like the smallest of things,
that one time we tried a new boba shop,
I wrote that down.
And if I wanted to go above and beyond,
I can expand.
So for example, in January,
we had our one year anniversary trip.
It would have been cute if I wrote
like maybe a journal entry on this page
so that I could go back and click on this
and see like an entire diary entry.
And you'll also notice that for every single one of these,
I included the date in which this happened.
If I go to the calendar view,
and if I scroll down,
I could see everything that I did this year,
especially because I'm such a forgetful person.
If I don't do this,
it may come to the end of the year
and I'll realize that I did absolutely nothing this year
when in fact, that is not true.
I did all of these little things.
So this has been my crazy year so far.
And then for future months,
I kind of created a bucket list of things
I wanna look forward to.
During fall,
I wrote down some of the things that I wanna do in fall.
This whole page is fun for me.
It's very fun, personal, life things.
I know this video is supposed to be about being productive,
but you can't be productive
if you're not also having fun on the side.
All right, moving on.
I am here in this monthly room quite often as well.
I just changed some things up.
I kind of deleted columns that I didn't think really fit.
So now I only have five columns.
I actually keep the highest priority column
to the very left
because even that small notion of having,
notion of having to scroll to the right
to go to what I really need to get done,
just wastes my time.
So I keep it all at the very left.
Next to that, for some reason,
a lot of my chores and errands
require me buying things all the time.
So I just keep my to-buy list right next to that
and then my to-do list.
And then I added this very special column,
the to-meet list,
because I am notoriously really bad at meeting people.
And scheduling those things out.
So I realized I can't just leave that floating up in my head
like I will meet them eventually.
I realized I need to have like a wait list of people
that I need to schedule into my life.
I know, I know, I know, I know.
And then at the very right,
I have my least priority in gray
because I don't even want to bother
to have that take up any brain space.
What's probably the most exciting update that I did here
was in my to-buy list,
I actually categorized my shopping list
by each area of my home.
So I have things that I need to buy for the bathroom
or the kitchen or the living room.
Almost so that I could envision where to store the thing
once I buy the thing in that area of the home,
if that makes sense.
And of course I have a miscellaneous category.
Okay, moving on to the weekly spread.
This is my favorite room in the home.
I'm sorry if I sound annoying
referring to these pages as rooms.
Truly, I am in this page all the time.
Of course, this page is favorited.
I think I go on this page at least 10 times a day.
And you may notice that I actually got rid of covers
to some of my main pages
just because for pages like this that I'm on all the time,
I want it to be as clutter-free as possible.
I don't want any excess stimulation distracting me
when I'm trying to figure out what I need to get done.
So I only made some minor aesthetic changes,
if you will, to this page,
but I just love what I did here.
I did this in my last video,
but I basically turned this into two columns instead of one.
And I love having the divider of the day
for morning, afternoon, and evening.
I will add times if need be,
but most of the time, if I have things I need to get done,
I will just sort it by morning, afternoon, or evening,
like when I need to get it done by.
I just have this to-do template button that I created.
Today, I could put film, notion, video,
and I'll move that to the afternoon.
And then after that, I can edit notion video, you know?
And then at the end of the day,
I could check everything off.
Or if I didn't get to finish it,
I could move that to maybe the next afternoon.
Or when it comes to like the end of the week
and I realize I didn't get it done,
I will just move it over to the very bottom here
where it says next week.
And so when I'm planning my next week,
then I can take a look at what needs to get done here.
And if it absolutely just isn't gonna be happening
anytime soon, I will move whatever this task is
into my monthly agenda.
So that's kind of been my flow,
even though I need to get this video edited
sooner than that.
And then at the end of the day,
I will just highlight this and then drag it into my archive.
And I've even changed my archive emoji.
Now moving on into the YouTube room.
And I understand not all of you guys
are YouTubers, obviously.
I still think this can be applied
to any sort of content creator.
And the first page for any type of creator to have
is your ideas dump page.
I am so glad that I created this
because it is so helpful.
If you're ever wondering what my workflow is
for creating YouTube videos,
it all starts off with like a dot of an idea.
So let's say I come up with a random video idea.
What I'll do is I'll come up here and create a new video.
I'll get into everything that's on this template in a bit.
But let's say I want to make a video on pillows.
Types of pillows in the home.
Like that's not even the title of the video,
but that's just an idea.
That will just kind of live in this no status column
until I see that this idea has maybe some potential.
Then I'll move it to the ideas column.
Once I kind of see that maybe I want to use this idea
in the next month or so,
I will move that over to the writing in progress column
where I will start writing out the video more in depth.
And then once I'm done writing like the brief outline,
I will move it to the ready to film column.
And then I'll go move on over to the filmed column,
then to the editing in progress column,
then to the ready to upload column.
And then once it's published,
it will finally land in the glorious published column.
That is the flow of a content creator, okay?
So if I were to write out a video,
I kind of merged templates from Thomas Frank and Ali Abdaal
and then kind of created my own little thing.
First, I'll brainstorm title and thumbnail ideas.
And then this is where I will do my outline.
Here's some guidance for that.
I love this actually,
because I struggle to start off a video.
I realized maybe I don't need to say hi all the time.
What do you guys think?
Do you guys like when I'm like,
hey guys, welcome back to the channel.
Intro, outro.
And then I love how this is titled value
because no matter what video it is,
it's important to provide some type of value,
whether that's entertainment or education.
And then down here,
I have a list of B-rolls to collect if need be
and more resources.
So there's the editing and publishing checklist
and any research and notes that I need to take
before creating the video.
I showed this in my last few videos,
but a brief little checklist.
Do I use this all the time?
No, because I'm a professional now
and I don't need a checklist to know what I need to do,
but sometimes it's just nice to have.
That is my beloved ideas dump page.
Moving on to the projects page.
This is more so just a table of all of the videos
that I'm working on and what's upcoming.
I use the relation button to relate this column
to the videos in my ideas dump page
so that it can automatically put the status of that video.
And then I like to put the due date of the video,
the date that it's scheduled and the sponsor of the video.
I also created another page for all of the sponsorships.
It's literally just a page of a list of brands
that I've worked with or brands I wanna work with.
And then this page is a little bit more in-depth,
kind of like creator tips on how to vlog.
I think I'm gonna hold off on sharing that for now.
At last, we are entering the KindKare page.
Ah!
I'm obsessed with this page.
It's gone under a major renovation.
For those of you who don't know,
KindKare is my brand
and it's a non-toxic cleaning product brand.
KindKare.com to shop Starbucks and our first collection.
We have a very, very small team for now,
but once we expand our team,
I would love to use Notion as the main database
for sharing all of our files,
all of our documents and meeting notes.
I never talked about this before
in my previous Notion videos,
but you could actually upgrade to the team plan
where you could use each page as a collaborative workspace.
You could easily embed links or even documents
to your existing Google Drive you might have.
We've been using G Suite and Google Drive mainly
to store all of our files.
I'd say Notion is more like a nice office building,
whereas Google Drive was just kind of like a storage room.
Let me just show you the setup that I created.
I added some cover art.
I added our vision right here.
I wanted to put the priority to-dos at the way top
along with upcoming tasks.
Kind of similar to my weekly agenda,
but this is all focused for what I need to do for the brand.
And scrolling down, we have important dates
to keep in mind.
We have an entire directory.
We'll get back to this in a second,
but beneath that, we have playlists, printouts, wallpapers,
everything that you could actually find on our website.
If I click on this,
I could print out the printout right here.
And I also have a toggle list of future ideas.
And then down below,
I have some quick links to our website,
our Instagram, et cetera,
just so that it's all in one place.
Okay, but going back to the directory up here,
firstly, we have the brand identity.
I've learned so much about branding
from starting this business.
I embedded the entire brand Bible here,
which I'm not gonna be showing,
but I love that I could just go onto this page
and scroll and see the entire brand Bible.
And then beneath that are different brand assets
that could be helpful,
like our logo and different formats.
And some pages like this social marketing page,
this page has so many more pages within it
because it just requires a lot.
I have an entire separate page for the website,
the product catalog and upcoming collections.
I made separate pages for logistics and accounting.
And of course I needed a meeting notes page.
So this page is really simplified.
Whenever we're about to have a new meeting,
I could come here.
You could create sort of a meeting template, if you will.
If I wanted to, I could add a tag to each meeting note.
So for example, this meeting,
if it was about concept ideation,
and maybe this one's like concept presentation.
If I only wanted to share the meeting notes page
with my team,
then I could just do so by sharing it up here.
Or if I wanted to share this entire page,
I could share the entire page.
Okay, let's get into the final room of the home.
This is all things lifestyle.
I still think this page needs a lot of work
if I'm being completely honest.
And as you can see, I put down current projects,
currently reading, currently watching,
currently learning, habits I'm building.
I did this so that I can be a little bit more present
in what I'm doing, you know,
because as I said, I'm kind of forgetful.
And this just helps me to be more aware
of what I'm intaking at the moment.
So the Bible, I'm reading Joshua, and another book.
When I'm done with this,
I could go ahead and write a book review on it.
Currently watching,
I could go ahead and add it to my watch list.
I kind of showed this in my last Notion tour.
Ooh, I did want to show you guys my updated beauty page.
I've been really into this toggle list feature.
So this is a very vain page,
but I separated by hair, face, body, and nails.
And I kind of put in little bullet points of tips
and products that are my current favorites
within these toggle lists.
Up here, I created an entire separate spread
for all of the beauty product reviews.
And I don't know why I didn't do this sooner
because it is so helpful.
If you're obsessed with finding
like the perfect beauty products,
and I'm not just talking makeup,
I'm talking skincare, haircare.
I'm sorry, all of this is going to be blurred out,
but I just put the brand name here,
the product name, the category, the price,
the size, the rating.
And then I've been kind of lazy as you can see,
because the review column is all blank.
And I also put in products that I want to try
that I've heard good reviews on.
But what I love is that I could sort all of this
either by category or by brand or least to highest price
or whatever I want.
And it's all here for me.
And this is just so much fun for me.
Like I'm geeking out about it.
Otherwise I would say every other page in here
is just kind of really personal.
So there's really no point in me entering these pages
and then blurring out the entire page.
As for now, you know,
I mainly use Notion for work related things.
Thank you for visiting, get out now.
Build your own Notion space if you want
by signing up with my link down below.
And of course I'll leave the templates
to my yearly, monthly, and weekly spreads.
Thank you for sitting through this entire video.
Have a beautiful blossoming day.
Drink more water.
Cause I know you're not drinking enough water.
I'm certainly not.
Sleep earlier.
Till next time, peace.
