Hello everyone, what is up?
So I have been procrastinating this video,
waiting to have my entire life together
so I wouldn't feel like such a hypocrite
for all of the tips that I'm going to be saying
in this video.
But honestly, these are just some simple habits
that I've been working on in my life
and I feel good, I feel great.
My life and my shoes are definitely not always together,
but I'd be trying out here, okay?
That's all that matters.
Also, I got a cat and she's so distracting.
I cannot film in peace.
And with that, let's begin.
First things first is to star your most urgent tasks
the night before.
So the night before the day even begins
as I'm getting ready to go to bed,
I will open up my Notion app, which is my digital planner.
And I'll briefly write down a to-do list
of everything that I wanna get done for the day.
And then I'll put a star next to the three most urgent tasks
that I need to get done for the day.
And then what I do is estimate approximately
how long it'll take for me to complete that task.
We humans tend to be overly optimistic
about how long it takes us to do something.
So I like to be reasonable.
If you've done a similar task before,
it's kind of good to check how long it takes you
so that you could better plan for the future.
And then when it's time for me to sit down
and get to work for the day,
I make sure that within the first hour of working,
I will focus on the starred tasks first.
I used to just get the little things over with first,
so I feel like I could check off more boxes.
But the first few hours of getting down to business
is so crucial because that's when you have
the most mental, physical energy to do things.
I feel so much better when I tackle
what needs to be tackled first
and then focus on the less important tasks afterwards.
Because at the end of the day,
if I could check off the three most important tasks
that I wanted to get done for the day,
I have fulfilled my day's purpose.
So the night before, whether you do it on like a task pad,
literally you could just write down a checklist
of what you wanna get done.
I personally like to do it on the Notion app.
You could do it on Notes, your bullet journal.
Put a star next to the most urgent tasks
and make sure to tackle those things first.
Have a good morning.
These days I've been having such good, excellent mornings
and I am deeply convinced
that everyone should be a morning person.
And this is coming from someone
who used to wake up every day at noon, okay?
I would celebrate if I was able to wake up at like 10 a.m.,
which is really sad now that I think about it.
And now that I could wake up at 8 a.m.
and have four extra hours of daylight,
it's just mind-boggling to me.
If you are struggling to be a morning person,
the secret is really to just get up.
You just have to get up and experience a good morning
and try it once, try it twice,
and keep letting yourself realize
that mornings can be good.
And to do this, you have to create a morning routine
that you can look forward to.
This can be something so simple
as having a drink to look forward to.
The thought of getting to have my iced coffee in the morning
literally can get me out of bed.
I'm like, okay, wow, coffee sounds really good right now.
And then all of a sudden I'm out of bed.
I personally like to have very slow mornings.
I don't really officially start my work until 1 p.m.
So I have legitimately like four to five hours
in the morning of just me time.
Like I will work out, I'll have quiet time,
I will eat my brunch and get ready.
And all of that, which helps me to work
on my personal growth is done before noon.
And it feels so awesome.
I know not everyone has that time of the morning
and you have places to go, you have things to do.
But if you could set aside an extra hour in the morning
to take it slower or even at nighttime,
as cheesy as it sounds, I feel so much more alive
to be able to experience more of the morning.
And like I said, you just have to let yourself
experience a good morning again and again.
I used to have really bad mornings
and that's why I used to never like waking up early.
I would just kind of rush on
into everything I need to get done.
And I hated it, I was so stressed.
But now that I ease myself into everything,
I feel a lot more at peace before starting my day,
which is such a transformation.
Soak up the sunshine.
One of the biggest, biggest blessings
that I have been so grateful for as of recent
is having a balcony space.
If you can get some access to fresh air
and sunlight every day, please take the time
to get some vitamin D on your skin.
I do stay home most of the time, as many of us are.
And just to get 10 minutes outside to breathe, to read.
I sometimes just go out there and play Animal Crossing
and it's so much better than just playing Animal Crossing
on my couch.
It's like to witness the little bit of nature out there
is so good, I don't know.
Just soak up the sun, baby.
You don't have to go for a run or anything crazy.
I just like to sit out there and inhale and exhale
and that's it.
These days I've been taking my meals outside,
I've been taking my laptop outside.
Whatever I typically do inside, if I can do it outside,
I will do it outside.
And if you don't have a balcony or backyard space,
if you can just go for a walk safely
around your neighborhood at a park,
if you have access to these things,
getting some sunlight and space and fresh air
is so life-giving and just make sure to wear some SPF.
Even if you're only out there for like 10 minutes,
don't forget the SPF.
Listen to uplifting music.
For whatever reason, I just stopped listening to music
within the past few years.
I do like to listen to podcasts
or I play a YouTube video in the background.
But recently I have just been appreciating music,
like just turning on some tunes.
Sometimes my mind doesn't want to think so hard
and be engaged in like a podcast or anything,
which I think is still great.
But some other times I just wanna like groove, you know?
So I do have a record player
and there's something about listening to an artist
and their entire album all the way through.
I feel like I get the whole story, you know what I mean?
That's why I really appreciate listening to music
on a record player
because I can't just easily skip to the next song
if I'm bored of it.
One side of a record player is roughly 22 minutes.
So this is kind of like a combo habit.
As I'm playing the music,
it's kind of like a 22 minute timer for me to do my chores.
I will play one side of a record player
and I look around and I'm like,
okay, I need to get this, this, this done.
I have 20 minutes to do it.
And the key to this is uplifting music,
not simping music, not sad, emotional music.
Music is powerful and it could change your mood
just by listening to one song.
And so I want to feel uplifted.
So I will listen to some uplifting music.
Got some Stevie Wonder, George Ezra,
King's Kaleidoscope, yes.
French Kiwi Juice, chill, chill vibes and wait for it.
Hilary Duff, metamorphosis.
There's something about just turning on some music,
cleaning, singing, dancing, moving your body.
I don't even care if there's studies to prove it or not.
I think that it nourishes your soul in some way.
Speaking of moving your body, move your body.
Wow, if only it were that easy.
My lifestyle in general is pretty sanitary.
I work from home.
I don't have to do a lot of physical labor for my job.
And I don't think it needs to be that dramatic.
I think even just starting off with cleaning your space,
I think cleaning is the most efficient way
to improve your mood because you're moving your body,
you're cleaning up your physical space,
and decluttering your physical space
definitely improves your mental space.
And it's good to upkeep your home anyway.
So you're killing so many birds with one stone.
If you feel like you don't have the time or energy
to get into some rigorous workout routine or something,
start off with cleaning.
Even just taking 10 minutes to stretch,
have a little break in between your work
or your binging of Netflix.
Like I mentioned, just turning on some music
and dancing is a good workout too.
But if you do want to start working out,
I find it really helpful to start a workout challenge
or have some sort of schedule for my workout routine
because otherwise I just kind of don't do it.
If I don't really know exactly what I have to do each day,
I just kind of, I'm more lackadaisical with it
and I don't actually stick with it.
So if you're gonna work out,
the best thing to do is to be consistent
and to start off where you are.
Don't go straight into insanity.
Listen to your body
and challenge yourself little by little.
If you struggle with self-confidence,
I'm telling you, you have to move your body
because it is the most rewarding thing
to know that you pushed through and you did it
to see yourself getting stronger and stronger.
No matter where you start from,
keep a journal and reflect.
It doesn't have to be every day,
but at least once a week,
if you can just sit down
and process how your week went,
I just kind of brain dump everything.
Like I will just literally say the most mundane thing.
Did this happen?
That happened?
And those little things connect
to other little thoughts in my mind
and I actually start to think.
It starts from something so small
and then that starts to reveal other areas of my life
where I wasn't able to process
why I was doing certain things.
It helps me to check my heart and where my head is at
and areas of my life where I want to work on even more.
I prefer to type out my journal entries
because my brain works faster than my fingers can write.
So at least I could type faster than I could write.
And I also feel like it's more secure in my laptop
versus just like chilling out.
If you're not processing, you're not really living.
Whether you do it on physical paper or on your computer,
it's so important to process daily if you can
because it helps me to remember what I did better.
It helps me to be more grateful.
The last habit is to share your life more.
I feel like I went through a phase
where I didn't like sharing my life so much,
especially when I tried to daily vlog.
I just don't think it's healthy
to overshare your life, obviously,
but even just something so simple
as sharing what I ate for lunch
can spark so many random conversations with people.
I didn't realize, especially in this digital age,
especially during this time,
that social media is kind of the only way
we could stay connected and let people in.
At one point, I got into a mindset
that I just want to live my life.
Like, I don't want to snap a photo and ruin it.
You know, that's just going to ruin the moment
if I try to capture it.
I'm kind of in a different mindset now
where I realized how good it is to capturing a moment
and being able to have that as memory
and to look back at those photos and videos
and reminisce of so many different things.
Gary Vee said something in one of his episodes
that you just have to document.
You don't have to have this super perfect photo to share it,
especially when it comes to, like, Instagram stories.
People just kind of want to look
at what your life's about sometimes.
That's what I've been trying to work on,
is to just surrender this need to be perfect on social media
and to just be honest with myself,
especially on Instagram stories
where it all disappears within 24 hours anyway.
Literally, I could post my avocado toast
and someone will heart it.
And then I'd be like,
oh, hey, I haven't talked to you in so long.
And then we'd be like, yeah, what you been up to?
And I think it's such an accessible way
to let people into your life
and to open up opportunities to make friends.
People want to know what you're up to.
At the same time,
they don't really care about how perfect your life is.
No one really overanalyzes your life.

Those are the seven things
that have helped me to get my shoes together.
This is one of those videos
where I feel like I could have made a video
for every point I made
and just go on into a separate tangent.
I'm gonna leave it here for now.
I hope you found this video to be helpful.
Let me know one habit you want to start working on
in the comments below.
I'd love to know.
