At first glance the 2022 Nissan Rogue SV AWD shows nothing too. Under the hood however we see a new 1.5L 3 Cylinder VC Turbo Engine. Yes this Nissan has been in several Nissan and Infiniti vehicles before but does it fit in well in Nissan's best selling cross over. We had to show you with our test drive, review and first. Is it a step up from the lethargic 2.5L cylinder? With more power output and better fuel economy it seems Nissan has found the sweet new home for the Variable Compression Turbo Engine! #2022Rogue#nissan#rogue

What is up Nissan fans? You know who it is, it's Christopher here with Cars Unlocked
and I'm doing something a little different today, a little different style of shooting. We're going
to do this vlog style here with my phone because we just got in this morning this 2022 Nissan Rogue
SV. A lot of big things have been happening with this Rogue. There's been a lot of demand,
a lot of waiting, but everything has changed here. This one is the SV all-wheel drive,
so it's going to come with that new VC turbo. We're going to check it out and go through all
the specs here and I'm going to give you a quick walk around of everything here. As you can see,
this is the SV, obviously in white. There's not huge changes in the exterior design
from last year's model. However, if you can see that there, we do have a price increase,
$35,498 plus your paint charge to $35,598 up from the last year's price of $34,598,
so about a thousand dollar price difference. If you want to see a full walk around of this,
I'm going to put a link of my 2021 SV walk around and you guys can see all the features of the
exterior, but this one is going to be very similar to the last year's model. It's going to come with
these nice two-tone alloy rims, as you can see there. You have the Nissan Intelligent Key on all
four doors, so that's a great feature. It makes it nice and handy. There's that redesigned front
end that they redesigned for 2021. Is that a new Nissan emblem? We see the new Nissan emblem and
very cool. And let's take a look at the inside here. Like I said, this one just arrived this
morning, so there's not many changes from last year's model. Today's date is Tuesday, March 8th.
So when I say this morning at the time of filming this, but you still get that nice center console.
You still get the two-tone interior. You get the different drive modes, the auto hold and
electric parking brake, the square shifter, dual temperature control, pro pilot assist,
Bluetooth control. You get the Nissan safety suite with our automatic headlights, automatic
high beam assistant, and you get the steering assistant with the blind spot monitor.
And let's take a look at the back. You have features like rear door alert
and that two-tone continues. And then we have
two USBs. We got the USB-C and the regular USB, and here's the trunk. So again, very similar to
last year's model. I'm not going to go too into detail about the cargo capacity and things like
that. We know how many dead bodies we can fit in here, probably four if we stack them right.
But there's your 60-40 split for the seats and they fall down pretty easily. So
the inside looks great, very popular, but what we're really interested
is right here. Let's jump in and take it for a spin. So the moment that I've been waiting a
long time for is seeing the difference between this 1.5 VC turbo three-cylinder engine compared
to last year's 2.5 four-cylinder. It's a big difference and Nissan says they've improved
everything. And on paper, yeah, they improved everything. This one comes with 201 horsepower
versus last year's model of 181. And then you also have upgraded torque. You have better fuel
economy. And then they've done this kind of second generation CVT transmission. So it's
supposed to have, instead of having a steel belt, it has a steel chain, which is supposed to improve
the noise, the longevity, and the fuel efficiency of the CVT. So big improvements that they've said
they've made to the power plan. As I mentioned, this one's going to come with 8.4 liters in the
city compared to last year's 9.2 liters per a hundred kilometers. So better fuel economy,
7.6 combined compared to the 2.5 liter last year's model, which is 8.3. So a little better
fuel economy in this model. And then you're going to get 225 pounds feet of torque compared to the
181. So you get more torque, you get more power, you get more towing. Last year's model had 1,350
pounds of towing. This one has 1,500. So now that's that turbo groan that you might be able
to hear through the microphone. It does have that turbo groan and I was curious, but yeah,
the compression turbo seems to pick up pretty good. Like I barely touched it there and I'm
already going 80, 90. So can't complain about the pickup. That's what you're going to get with the
turbo. The question that's going to have in mind is the longevity. I know you guys are going to say
CVT, CVT, CVT, stay away from the Nissan CVT, but they've said they've made improvements. They said
they've come a long way with this CVT and they work towards improving and making it more reliable
for customers. So you do feel that quick little rush of RPMs when you step on it a bit there.
Not bad. I'm going to take it one exit on the highway and see how it feels.
This one was ordered from one of our customers. If you guys want to purchase one of these,
you guys can contact me. My information is in the description below. We do have some coming
in very shortly and we're also taking orders if you want to put your name on one. Generally,
all the ones that we get in are pretty much spoken for, but I'm just going to take it one
exit here. Let's see how she takes it on the highway. It's pretty quiet. I think it's quieter
than the other model and there's foot to the floor.
Not too bad, 6,000 RPMs, but with the CVT, you want that gradual acceleration,
which is pretty good. Now we're back at around 3,000 RPMs. So
you don't really feel those gear shifts like you would in a normal transmission. That's the
advantage. A lot of these vehicles are going with the smaller engines and the turbos and
have come a long way in the automotive industry. Everybody's all about fuel economy. We're up to
180 a liter here, guys. Yeah, I said that 1.8 a liter. First impressions, it's great.
Certainly, like I said, Nissan's improved a lot. If they can improve the horsepower,
the engine output, and the fuel economy at the same time by adding the turbo, why not?
What do you guys think? This is really like a make it or break it for Nissan here. Essentially,
they got to get this engine right to keep the company alive pretty much. If they have
mechanical issues with this CVT transmission and this engine, it's really going to bust Nissan and
it might cripple them so much that they might not be able to recover. But I think they've done a
great job. They do very well. I'm a big supporter of Nissan, as you guys know, and obviously that's
how I make my living. So if you guys want to order one of these Rogue SVs for 2022, hit me up. I'm
going to put my information in the description below. Right now, I'm taking orders on the 2022
Rogues, all new Nissans, new Toyotas we can take orders from. You guys let me know from our sister
store, Burlington Toyota, and I'd love to help you with your car buying purchase. If you guys are new
here, make sure you subscribe to my channel. It's called Cars Unlocked. We're going to be doing full
unlocks of these vehicles as they arrive. They're going to get the Platinum out and I'm looking
forward to seeing the Platinum and the newer models. We're going to do a full unlock of this
SV model too. So comment below what you guys think. Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day.
