King Salmon Bobber Downs! - Best Day Out 2020

You guys are about to see the best day I have had skein fishing all of this fall. This year has been kind of a weird run. Just weird trickles here and there. We got one really good heavy push a couple weeks ago but all the footage that you guys are seeing were a few weeks ago and I'm excited to share it with you guys. You only took him on your phone or no? Um. Nah it's all good. Bro this is. I've. I don't know. I've like. I haven't really ever had a day like this. I don't think so man. I haven't like 15 fish on. Even in the prime of the run sometimes you don't. I don't know. Dude we're like 50. Dude we've hooked like on all floats. Like I've hit steelhead limit days and I've limited out on salmon on floats but like. I don't know dude. Dude it is heavy. Dude it feels really heavy. Yeah. Dude no. I'm done. It's so deep in a hole right now. Oh dude it just broke off of something. Oh it's back. It's back. It's back. Tank hen. Dude this thing is huge. All right yo what's going on guys. Really quickly I just wanted to go over the rig that I was running for this video. Nothing really has changed. I got the 2500 Strattec. It's absolutely covered in skein right now so it's kind of hard to see. It's honestly very disgusting. We've got the nine foot six medium moderate action Fenwick HMX. Main line 20 pound power pro. And starting up top with the terminal tackle we are going to have ourselves a 15 gram blood run float. And then as you guys can see right here a micro swivel connecting both lines with a fisherman's knot. This is going to be a 20 pound fluorocarbon maximum leader. Just below my bobber I have a size 5 split shot. And then we're going to have another swivel right here connecting my bobber leader to my main leader. This is a blood run micro swivel. Right here we have three size 4 water gremlin split shot. Bobber leader by the way. This bobber leader, this first leader, is about two and a half feet long. And then I'm going to have it matched with another two and a half feet of the same pound test line. Sometimes I run a little bit lighter but especially in like the more woody areas and stuff and smaller rivers. I like to use stronger line with kings because they're always diving into brush. So just below my micro swivel right here on my main leader line we are going to have two blood run micro bb split shot right here just to help get the bait down to the bottom. And for the hooks I'm going to be running a egg loop knot on a raven sickle hook. And then we also have a trailer hook beneath it. I think this is a one-aught octopus mosquito hook or something like that. I found that this dropper hook was a lot more effective especially when there's kind of like a smaller bite to it if they're just kind of chomping at it. I was getting more hookups with it. It wasn't until halfway through this video that I actually started tying this on. Just the standard you know one-aught hook alone itself hooks a lot of fish on this game. But sometimes when the bite's a little bit slower fish are a little bit more finicky or they're not biting as hard having this trailer hook is very ideal. So I definitely can say I landed a couple extra fish because of it. And in general I would have to say that my my skein setup for bobber fish and king salmon really hasn't changed other than the fact that I have this trailer hook behind it.
