Why did we not date in those two years, Nico? Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. For those who are new, my name is Hazzy. And my name is Nico. And today, we'll be doing one of our highly requested videos about how we met. But before that, oh my god, guys. 4,000 subscribers. Like, what happened? Literally, a few days ago, I just reached 800. And thank you for supporting us. All right. Now, let's talk about the story. Oh, disclaimer. So, Nico and I aren't the best storytellers. So, if there's too much or too little information, we apologize. So, how did we meet, Nico? We met in college in San Francisco. So, yeah. I took one year of college in the Philippines. And then I went to this European Studies Fair. And I applied to a bunch of schools. And then I ended up choosing Hall. Fun fact. This school, well, it's one school. But it has multiple different campuses all over the world. So, depending on your course, you can choose which country you want to study in. So, I guess Nico chose to go to London. Yeah. I was gonna go there for the 2015 intake for fall. But then there was a problem with my visa. They switched up some of my documents with some Indonesian guy. So, they ended up denying it. And then the recruiter just told me to move to San Francisco instead. On January 2016. And yeah, that's where I went. I ended up going there. As for me, same story but different situation. So, I was like Nico. I was supposed to go to San Francisco for the September intake, 2015. But I don't actually remember exactly what happened. Oh, I guess it's because I applied last minute. And we couldn't get the visa done on time. So, yeah. Instead of going for the September intake, they suggested me to go for the January instead. So, yeah. That's how we both ended up being January intake people. It's fate. But yeah, I went to San Francisco first. So, I went there at the end of 2015. Oh, right. They went there December, huh? Yeah, I went to the dormitory. I got settled in. I met like a bunch of new people in the dorm. I also managed to make it on time for orientation. Unlike Mr. Nico here. Well, I was late. I came in on the last day of orientation. Apparently, they went bowling. So, yeah. I missed that one. You know, he went on the third day, the last day. And then, he went late during the actual orientation. I don't know. Jet lag. Maybe. Yeah, I don't know. Oh, this is already a story of how I first saw Hazzy. So, I went to the orientation room. And they were already being oriented. And they're already sitting. And I saw my supposed to be roommate. He's also Filipino. And I saw a bunch of Asians next to him. Yeah, I think we were all like sitting in one row. Yeah, I just assumed all of them were Filipino. Because they look Filipino. I mean, look at Hazzy. Anyway. Yeah, that's the first time I saw Hazzy. Back then, she had short hair. And she had like orange tips. Ombre. Ombre hair. It was kind of like fiery. Fiery hair back then. So, I was like, oh, well. Well, fiery person. She probably plays in a rock band or something. But yeah. But we didn't really talk. Basically, we just got to meet up when our mutual Vietnamese friend introduced us. I remember your first question to me is, are you Filipino? Right. I remember. It was not my first question. Yeah. Yeah, my first impression of Nico is, you know, I just labeled him as the Snapchat guy. He was a very, very active Snapchat user. Yeah, I started asking for the Snapchat. Yeah. I don't know. Snapchat was very big back then. Oh, yeah. He asked everyone's Snapchat. It's not bad. It's just, you know, I came in late to the party. Like, I came in late to orientation, late to everything. So, you know, I would try to make friends with everybody. I was like, okay. Oh, I kind of had like a, you know, happy crush on Hazzy. Because, you know, she was pretty. I was like... Nice. Okay. Okay, dormitory. And then, second fate. I swear. I'm just gonna keep talking about fate. So, our room, I guess they were located at a very nice location. So, we were placed on the same floor, the third floor. And imagine like a U-shape, right? So, our rooms are just like at the opposite ends of each other. So, I don't know. If that's not fate, I don't know what is. Okay, yeah. Anyway, we started hanging out more. We were in the same friend group. We just, you know, somehow ended up become best friends for like two years. I don't know. We just, we just get each other, you know? I don't know. We have like a lot of similarities from our like background, family, what we like. Oh, plus we had like the same sense of humor. Somehow, Nico has this sense of humor that only I find funny. Like, you know, his jokes are so lame. So lame. But then, I don't know why. I love lame jokes. Whatever. So, yeah. We became best friends for two years. Why did we not date in those two years, Nico? We should have. But then, one night, I was going around the lake because it's a nice lake. They have like very nice lights. There are ducks around. Yeah, it's located next to our dorm. So, yeah. So, I was walking around there. I was, you know, Snapchatting. And then, I don't know. I might have sent it to Hazzy or maybe she just saw it. I don't really remember. Yeah, she said, oh, cool. I've always wanted to. She said, you know, you said you wanted to go to the lake, right? Yeah, because it's weird, you know, how I arrived first. But then, I never got to go to the lake at night because, I mean, it's America. It's like dangerous at night. You know, I might get kidnapped. But then, the lake was really nice. It has this like fairy lights. And I've always just wanted to go there at night. But yeah, nobody to go with. And then, he invited me to walk with him. And it was pretty fun. We had like long talks and stuff. And that's where I found out she liked somebody. So... Oh, my God. I remember Nico told me that on this one particular day, he was supposed to tell me that he likes me. But before he was able to do that, this somebody already asked me out. And I was contemplating accepting it. He did. He did already ask you out. And then, they ended up dating. You know, okay. To be really honest, you know, it's college. It's the USA. I wanted to like explore, experience everything. So, when I thought about dating this guy, right? I thought it was only just gonna last for three months. Like, honestly. But I think it somehow went serious. And it went on for a while. Yeah. It didn't end well though. I mean, you know, I was also trying to like keep my options open. Because, you know, it's college. And I wanted... I also wanted to date a bunch of people. But then, I didn't really do that much. Because I like cats. So, how did we start dating? Fall 2017. The both of us, we were supposed to go to London. But somehow, there was like visa complications. I ended up going back to San Francisco. And Nico ended up going to London. So, yeah. At that point, I already broke up with my ex. So, that semester wasn't very... Wasn't really a happy semester for me. It went well towards the end. But then like, you know, Nico wasn't there. I didn't have my best friend. I only have like, at the time, you know, friends that I wasn't even close with. It was very lonely. On the other side of the world, I was having the time of my life. Oh my god. London is amazing. But sweet story though. On Thanksgiving, somebody flew all the way from London to San Francisco for like three days? One week? How long was it? Three days. Yeah, yeah. Imagine, imagine. By then, we already know we like each other. So, by the time January came and she flew to London, we basically started dating. Yeah.
