[Music] [Music] okay guys lucy has just gone outside she has no idea i'm filming this clip she thinks something else and yeah the travel was good what's gonna say all right we are on the beach lucy has no idea what i'm planning it's not yeah i'm gonna try and find the perfect moment it's a little bit windy today um i'm nervous this is stressful she has no idea no idea at all she can't hear me right now also we spend every second together so this whole planning of this whole thing has been so so tricky i'll try and tell you guys more about it but even right now she's right over there but she can't hear me and i'm just hoping she doesn't see this clip on the camera it's good okay [Music] okay guys today is the big day the big day i feel nervous again lucy has no idea that i'm filming this clip right now i've had to sneak away i've come outside to this beautiful outside area this is a room we're staying in right now and today is the day that i ask i can't believe i'm saying that out loud actually it's amazing just finished a little coffee i'm gonna have to try and act it she could be watching me right now i hope she can't lip read but today's the day that i asked lucy to marry me oh this is insane she is not expecting this one bit um mainly because the reason we've come here is to announce the incredible news that we're having a baby that lucy's pregnant and we're starting our own family so it's that news that is totally uh in her head and mine and i really really don't think that she is expecting me to propose today yeah this is this is crazy i'm kind of nervous i'm actually going to walk walk along here a second in case you can't see what i'm saying but i kind of wanted to make this trip as perfect as it possibly can be oh it's a little bit windy but it doesn't matter i knew i wanted to do it here just as we wanted to announce the baby here we're currently in boracay in the philippines and this is the place that we decided that we wanted to start family and have a baby and it only seems right that i don't know when we'll next be back here so it seemed right that this is the trip i mean i've been wanting to do this for a long time and obviously we had 2020 we had the pandemic we had lockdowns there hasn't been that perfect moment but this is everything has come together so nicely for this moment let me show you this beach quickly look at the color of that water i still don't know where exactly i'm gonna do it let me get out of the wind a second i'm still not sure where exactly that i'm gonna do it i'm still not sure how to even get the ring out without her seeing because it's currently hidden in the camera bag and she keeps reaching in the camera bag for lenses and batteries and things i think i've hidden it well but i'm not just praying she doesn't see it before today yeah it goes without saying that lucy is just lucy and i are just a team we she's my best friend i love her so much she's i don't know what you guys see on the vlog um but also the other 80 or 90 that you guys don't see we're just so good together we've done this whole traveling thing youtube quitting our jobs together leaving the uk traveling we've just been on this we've just been on this journey i suppose over the last few years which is now entering its next chapter with the baby on the way so this is super exciting super exciting so yeah i don't have a fixed plan um the weather here is i wanted to kind of do it on the beach but the weather's a little bit iffy we're going for a really really nice meal tonight so we're going to be all dressed up so i'm thinking that is the moment that i'll do it so i've got to wait the whole day but i'll pick the camera up when i can i really want to show you guys the ring i got the ring is beautiful i got it from a company here called lillian co and it's the ring has been purposely made for lucy and it's absolutely stunning i'm so happy with the ring that i've got i really hope she likes it because she didn't choose it so hopefully you'll probably tell i'm a little bit nervous i'm very nervous i didn't even sleep last night um anyway i'm gonna stop rambling on here right now and yeah wish me luck and let's hope she says yes let's hope he says yes that's the main thing i think we can get out today that would be that would be the good result yeah i'll pick the i'll pick the camera back up on our next can and i will show you guys the ring as soon as i can i promise okay i've just recorded a video message to send over to lucy's dad obviously we're out here in the philippines he's in the uk i'm also going to send a message to lucy's mom as well hope they approve my decision now i'm joking i think they'll be over the moon about this i think they'll be expecting it soon especially with the baby news etc so i just wanted to tell them first although it is only 8am here in the philippines so it's the middle of the night for them yeah i've been out here way too long i've finished my coffee i need to now pretend to do another normal vlog clip so lucy doesn't suspect anything okay i have a very very very small opportunity to show you guys the ring lucy is i can't believe i'm saying that like lucy is swimming right now outside the ring is in here let me let me show you i literally hid it in this lens bag under this lens oh no she's coming okay now she's good we're good we go and lucy reached for this lens earlier she needs to be out of sight okay she's taking photos i've hidden it in here okay okay you literally have seconds she could come back at any second let me get this off have wanted this photo of lucy and i with the bump and the baby and the view behind us we've got boracay beach we're waiting for the perfect moment but it hasn't come so we're just doing it anyway yeah we're just gonna go for it um it's super windy yeah uh but the rain has stopped and actually needs more gel okay my hair needs more gel it's fine i think it's fine and the lighting looks really your love okay we just we just stopped recording for a second because uh lucy was crying because people were crying because she doesn't want to marry me no we were having a little um personal moment i was so not expecting that like not one part of me was like with everything going on with the baby and stuff i was i don't know i knew we'd get married at some point but i was like i'll probably ask you and lucy and i have spoken about marriage before we're actually in no rush to get married someone is brilliant why don't you see no rush to get married no no but what i mean is we can really enjoy this time this engagement period i think it's engagement period baby on the way our baby can be at the wedding i was at my parents wedding i've always loved the idea i love the idea of it as well we this is this this boracay trip we don't know with the baby on the way and the pregnancy this is potentially our last trip like this for a little while good shout out um so that's what i was thinking crimson this place here is so special to us now for another reason just to add to it it's the place if you haven't seen it no one knows really no one knows except for me and you and that guy waiting by the elevator to watch the whole thing [Laughter] um but yeah so many reasons that i wanted to do it oh sorry i just i just feel like this is it's all coming together our next chapter of our life is coming together and i don't know i'm very happy she said yes i did she said yeah i didn't hear it so we are going to be getting married at some point in the future she lucy just asked how i managed to get the ring here i don't know how you did that because i packed the bags and i know where everything is at all times it's so windy it's really weird oh i know so he changed his position the story with the ring i even picked it up you don't even know how i got it oh you went to get it i went to get the ring [Music] i met someone from lily and co the company that i got the ring from and i'm so glad i'll do i'll i'm sure you're going to have questions about the ring and maybe in another video i'll explain um the design and show you guys up close i mean you can show the ring but i will yeah um the design what stones is it's diamond it's beautiful when did you go and meet someone i went and met someone the other day when i went out and it was a really rainy day and i was like oh it's so raining i took the umbrella went for a walk when i went for a walk you're so risky cause i nearly came with you i know i know so many things if i had i know what would you have done you'd have been like getting it here i've had it in the white box but with a black cloth over it yeah tied so it looks black in the bottom of a lens bag with a lens on top of it i know this right 50 millimeter lens you took the 50mm lens out yesterday and i thought to you why is the 50mm lens so high up in that massive bag really in my head but i didn't think there was a ring in it i was thinking like there's some security here because worst case even if you take that lens out it just looks black you can't see anything yeah because it's like a white box the box is is like pure white okay um so nice box isn't it so nice you want to put it back in there to keep you safe it's like i nearly did that that's yours for life now i know um it's so shiny as well really dark out so you can't see it but i'm going to show you a close-up later with the flashlight it's so shiny it's sparkly i'm glad she likes it because i chose it as well you have to hope that they're going to like it when you choose it but you do like it we actually need to go to dinner now we've got a really nice dinner planned uh which is going to be our celebration dinner we can cheers no alcohol though because lucy's probably yeah i can't get drunk on my engagement night you can oh this is so so special man this is so special now wait wait wait wait wait wait wait you're not my boyfriend anymore that is the weirdest thing ever i'm your fiancee wow how does it so weird that is so surreal isn't it you've been my boyfriend for eight how many years eight nearly nine i'm nearly nine years we've been together no nearly eight years oh yeah eight around eight years we've been together yeah um and now from boyfriends to fiances yeah i spoke to lucy's mom and dad today so i don't actually need to tell my parents you've already done that you only tell your parents we need to tell my parents we need to tell we need to have some friends we might keep it to ourselves for a few days and just enjoy this uh little vacation this is the moment i have a 10 minute window of when i plan to do this and i really i don't even know if it's recorded haven't you watched the back oh that's not that scares me i just want to remember me out the reason i said i was so surprised because i didn't think this was happening for another like two years in my head in my head back in so it was a genuine like what i just thought we're starting our family yeah we do want to get married we need to keep giving reasons why we don't need to keep saying i just want to document this day i'm just trying to say the reason why i was like what i think it's it i think it's thinking more now yeah i was in genuine shock but now she was in shock i was obviously said yes like straight away but i was just so it was just not what i was
