New York Mets Draft Kumar Rocker in the 2021 MLB Draft REACTION!

Yo, what is good Mets nation welcome back to Mets media, this is Richie and in this video I want to give you guys my reaction to the New York Mets draft pick They officially drafted Kumar rocker from Vanderbilt with the 10th overall pick and wow what a steal from the New York Mets This is the guy that was looked at as presumably the first overall pick going into the spring But then he dealt with a lot of velocity issues which made him fall into the draft But nobody expected him to go to the Mets at number 10 and the New York Mets are very happy To bring in a guy like Kumar rocker who is going to be on the Mets pretty soon He's one of those players that's not gonna be in the minors for long And in this video I'm gonna give you guys my thoughts of him as a player and a prospect and how us Mets fans should Be feeling after the MLB draft before I hop into the video I just want to mention if you guys are new to Mets media Please do not forget to smash that subscribe button and if you want to check me out over on Instagram and Twitter that is at NY Mets underscore media and if you enjoy the video, please do not forget to thumbs it up with that being said Let's jump right into the video. So Kumar rocker is a guy that has a lot of Experience in the college ranks and he won the World Series He won Outstanding College Player of the Year in the World Series. His career era in college baseball is 2.89 321 total strikeouts in 336.2 innings pitched man. This guy is somebody that has a fastball. That's alive He can top out at 98 99 mile-per-hour fastball. But the one thing is in the previous Spring his velocity had a little issues It was only at 90 91 which is the reason why he's not the first pick and with the reason why he's not top 3 Top 5 and that's why slits us at 10 But a lot of draft analysis are saying that that was a fluky thing and there are not concerned whatsoever His fastball is crazy. And the only concern that they have with him is can you get that swing rate at the next level? Is he gonna be able to you know, throw the fastball by them in the MLB because obviously at the big game It's a lot difference when you're versing, you know top-tier opponents But his slider is one of the best thing college as well It has that crazy backdoor movement that you need to see from a guy coming out of college and his curveball You know, that's not his best pitch but he does have three pitches that are going to be developed over time and my favorite part about this traffic right now is It's a player that could potentially be called up this season I'm not saying that's guaranteed. But this is a player that is ready for the MLB right now. He's 21 years old He has so much experience. He's been the talk of you know, college baseball for the past three seasons at Vanderbilt You know him and Jack lighter were the one two punches that everyone was talking about especially in that World Series run that they had He also had a 19 strikeout no hitter against Duke So this guy has been consistently great every single time. He touches the mound He has a lot of energy has a lot of passion fire desire everything you want in a pitcher on the mound and I feel Like he's gonna plug into this rotation and just feed off the energy that we have with Strowman Walker de Grom I don't think he's going to guarantee be on the roster this season I know it's it's possible, but don't count it out. He can be here next season This is a guy that is ready to be called up right away in my opinion after you know Diving deep into the all the draft picks at the or the draft people that we were looking into in this draft class I was doing a lot of homework the past couple of weeks leading up to the MLB draft and this is a guy that I Was like yo if the Mets can somehow get Kumar rocker at number 10, but I really didn't think it was possible That was more like a fantasy dream that I had But hey, he falls to us at number 10 and he's officially a New York Met Please let me know your thoughts down below in the comment section How excited you are that you got Kumar rocker on the New York Mets leave a like if you guys enjoyed and I'll catch you Guys in my next video. Let's go Mets. You gotta believe
